Rita pizza is my go to. Dean is tha best bartender this side of the Mississippi. The interior is a nice brick and modern theme that has live music and trivia and comedy.

Delicious pizza!! Definitely the best i've found in Erie! Not sure if it's just me... but a lot of the pizza here looks like frozen pizza??? (New resident of Erie) Glad this looked fresh (not frozen) and was delicious! LOL Loved the fluffy, chewy dough. Definitely Neapolitan style pizza. Also note, it is located in Flagship City Food Hall, which is designed for pickup rather than a sit down restaurant. Lots of restaurants/take out places to choose from at this location. I will be ordering again!!

Pizza was high quality, made quickly and friendly service. There are picnic tables outside if you want to sit and eat.

    Garlic Smasher

Might be the only good pizza in all of Erie. Loved this garlic smasher that I got, I only wish they could have put more tomatoes on top.

Just great pizza. We stopped for dinner when it was a food truck and really enjoyed our experience.

I love good pizza and this place did not disappoint. We had the pep squared and the bourbon glazed. Both delicious.

Of course, that's a shame, but lets hope that the presence of Ernies leads to more people taking the time to get the permits, figure out the logistics, and take this risk. Located on weekdays during work hours at Perry Square, Ernies is a small, locally-owned food truck that offers up Erie's own Smith hot dogs, Italian sausages, hamburgers, turkey burgers, cheesesteaks, steak wraps, BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. It's a safe menu, sure, but Ernies makes every meal fresh and made-to-order. This means that it takes a little longer (my Italian sausage with onions and peppers took probably 6-7 minutes), but being so fresh and at an extremely reasonable price of $4, it was well worth the wait - especially considering the guys behind the counter were personable and more than willing to chat with me while they were cooking, as it wasn't too busy. From out of town and need to get a fresh Smith's hot dog (aka the best hot dog on the planet)? Here's your chance. As much as I love Sara's for what it is, I've never liked that their dogs sit on the burners for way too long. Here, you don't have to worry about that. Support these guys. They're local... and if they do well, who knows? We could very well see some more of these pop up downtown (how about an El Canelo taco truck, a place with Lake Erie perch fish tacos, Erie pierogies and pepperoni balls, etc.?).

That's all you taste is smoke. I am aware that it's bbq and that the food would have been smoky but this is way too much. Even my father who is an avid meat smoker agreed. There were also 5 out of 8 who ended up with food poisoning. 10/10 not a good experience. Based off of the sickness alone I would not go back. My father called and left a detailed message just letting them know that 5 of us got sick. Last I knew he hadn't heard back from them. The item in common that us sick people had was the brisket.

Nice touch of the butcher paper. The sausage had great spice & smoke. The pulled pork was sort of an after thought as the sausage portion was good, the pork could have been a little more abundant. The décor is nice, with a hand-painted mural in the back room that tells the story of the Que/Dude. Several pieces of art/photography on the walls. I expect it to evolve . . . I enjoyed the sandwich enough that I got a pound of pulled pork to go (now in the freezer after a suitable sampling) one thing I like is that the pulled pork is just that. It comes with sauce on the side although. The smoke and flavor of this pork is excellent and did not require any sauce to be thoroughly enjoyed. I will be going back soon as there are sooo many items on their menu that I need to try. Which includes the ice cream!

Check their page on FB if you want to see about new special menu items from time to time. I also saw on there that they were open a few times on Saturdays last summer, in addition to Sunday. Plenty of outdoor seating, tables were clean and well maintained. The food was very good!! We tried several different menu items, but it would take at least 3 or 4 visits to try everything available. My favorite item is their tamales (if you haven't tried these, they are well worth it, in my opinion). They had two kinds of tamales: green salsa with corn/cheese or brown mole sauce with pork. Personally, I would order at least two tamales. Also, we had steak tacos that came with red sauce on top. The red or green salsas (sauce toppings) were the only spicy components. Everything else was very flavorful, but not off-putting at all -- for those people who aren't sure about trying spicy food. I'm sure you could just ask them to leave off the salsa on top of the tacos, if you prefer not to risk it, although if you like spice then it's great! The tacos are also served with grilled onions on the side, fresh lime wedge and sliced radishes to decorate the plates. They come with fresh cilantro in the tacos, as well, which I really liked. If you aren't familiar with the Mexican-style roasted green jalapeño peppers on your plate, just skip them --or-- for the adventurous, be aware that all of the heat is in the seeds. Personally, I love them but I don't eat too many of the seeds. As an appetizer item, I ordered a tostada. If you're not familiar with tostadas, think open-faced cracker with lots of toppings. It's actually a corn tortilla that's been deep fried so it's very crispy and thin -- that's the part I think of as a cracker. Then on top, you have fresh pico de gallo (chopped tomato, probably onion, probably cilantro) and the meat topping of your choice (chicken, beef, etc.) I had chicken on mine. It's a little messy to eat, but entirely delicious. They give you plenty of napkins and don't be afraid to use your hands (or ask for a plastic fork which they have available). If you get thirsty, there's a list of cold drinks (authentic Mexican soft drinks called Jarritos and American soda pop, plus bottled water for sale). I've heard sometimes La Chona Movil makes soup (Menudo or Pozole). I'd love to try either one of these, next time the cooks in the kitchen have the inspiration. Overall, the atmosphere was comfortable although you are eating next to the side of the house in a quiet, residential neighborhood. There is a large park nearby, so you could take food over there to eat or just get everything to-go and eat at home. The food was worth the price, especially since a lot of restaurants are super expensive these days. I ordered extra pork tamales and ate them again for breakfast the next day with my coffee. We will definitely return again soon. We drove in all the way from Edinboro, but while we were in town we also went to the Peninsula -- so that's another idea for a Sunday afternoon... Chona Movil and Presque Isle beach sunset, all in one afternoon!! Erie at it's best!
