Firestone's Kitchen This was the BEST pizza I've had in Erie as a traveller looking to settle here. I've tried 3 others, mostly very flat on crust or flavor (all independent places). Firestone's pizza has an excellent char, solid sauce and flavorful toppings. The restaurant also has a beer/wine store, and a eye pleasing meat counter/butcher. I have no complaints - friendly service, fair priced pizza for excellent quality, and the liquor section has some charm to the decor. ***From the road, look for Gordon's (even though Firestone Kitchen is the eatery). I was in Erie for a conference and wanted to go to a local restaurant that had great reviews. I enjoyed the staff and seeing the Pirates game on the TV. The menu wasn't deep but I like that because you go with what you're good making and avoid decision paralysis. I had a pepperoni pizza and a draft sour beer. Both were good and I'd probably get them again. Definitely a good place to get some eats and a beer. read more

This is our favorite restaurant whenever we are in Erie, the food is consistently excellent and often leads to us making at least two visits while we are in town. Their regular menu is fantastic (the Shrimp Banh Mi sandwich and their hamburgers are our favorites!) but their weekly specials are out of this world. In response to Milen D's recent review of Firestones(which I witnessed) I honestly can't decide what's more embarrassing: your experience at the restaurant or the fact that you thought this review was worth posting. You apparently walked in expecting the entire establishment to revolve around your very specific demands, got disappointed, called someone a "clown," accused them of lying, and then produced this barely decipherable masterpiece of nonsense. The staff didn't fail you--you failed to understand where you were, what they offered, and apparently how restaurants work. And judging by the grammar and coherence of this review, I'm not sure you were in any condition to be evaluating anyone else's performance. Being unhappy with a meal is one thing. Throwing a tantrum because a restaurant didn't conform to whatever bizarre expectations you had in your head is another. Do everyone a favor next time: stay home, lower your expectations, and let the adults enjoy their dinner without having to witness another episode of The World's Most Confused Customer. The restaurant got one bad review. You got permanently immortalized as the person who wrote it. I'd say one of those is considerably harder to recover from. read more

You're in Erie PA on the weekend and it's Lunch Time. Where do you go? Check out Lunch at Firestone! It hits it's mark. My mother had recently been here for a holiday party and remarked how good it was. Recalling the conversation, I suggested we go here before my brother and I fly back to Florida. We agreed and showed up and were promptly seated. Vibe: the restaurant is next to Gordans meat market (pro tip, pick up your cuts here after getting lunch at Firestones). The overall vibe is a modern decor with black tones and white subway tile with an open kitchen concept. Drinks: I ordered the Pinot noir which was interesting because it did not state from where and what brand of Pinot it was. However, it showed up with my soda water and lime. The glassware is nice and the Pinot itself was fine. Appetizer: We opted to start with the green chili Mac and Cheese . It comes out in a nice cast iron vessel. The dish comes with some toasted cheese or bread crumbs on top. The dish has a nice cheese flavor however the green chili barely comes through. It would be good to see the restaurant lean a little further with the green chili. However it's a nice dish when it's 24 degrees out. Food: Pizza: We went with two: the Mushroom red sauce and the arugula, balsamic vinegar with chimichurri and prosciutto. Both were good. My preference at this visit was the red sauce with mushroom. The pizzas themselves were cooked well and the crust is a standard thin crust. All in all the food was enjoyable for lunch but I'm thinking dinner here is way better by looking at the dishes on Yelp. We came to Firestone's after my son played a game at Erie High School Stadium. The restaurant is on the small side. The middle is the restaurant, one side was a deli, the other was a beer and six pack shop. Our group ordered pizzas and sandwiches. I got the catfish sandwich, two people in our group got the Churi Steak Sandwich, one got Gordon's Smash Burger, one spinach pizza, and one cheese. Everything tasted really good. The sandwiches were just really small. Fries were also extra($5). Service was fine. read more

This was a nice and pleasant surprise experience! It's located in the Gordon's butcher and Market which was so cool. Estically is was super cute in there. Very open, could see the wood fire ovens, and everyone in the back cooking. Greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Services was good. I recommend making reservations I can see it getting busy, and although nice size it was smaller than I expected. The food and drinks were amazing! As always we pre looked at the menu, and still ended up trying something else lol We got a pizza, Brisket sausage and jalapenos pizza, with a green chili cream sauce! Now as a buffaloian we know pizza, let me say was this buffalo pizza, no, was it great pizza YES! If you like wood fire pizza with great flavor and good price (16) and in the Erie Pa area or passing through, yea stop in!!!! Then we also tried the the chimmi steak sandwich, again, bomb! The steak melted in out mouth and the flavors were so good!!! Washed down with one of their mules of the month, which was lemoncello, which I've never had but loved!!! Melvin is a bourbon guy, and thought they had a great selection, so he enjoyed a nice pour of Eagle Rare Then there is another craft and wine room, where you can enjoy plenty of options of craft beer and wine. read more

Wow! I'm not from Erie so I used Yelp! To find a favorite "local" restaurant. I stopped at Firestones for lunch. I was torn between one of the specials and Gordon's Smash Burger. The Smash Burger was possibly the best burger that I've ever had. 1/3lb Ground Brisket, Chuck & Short Rib of Beef, Carmelized Onions, Black Pepper Cooper's Cheese, Toasted Pretzel Roll, Dijon-Mayo. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and served with a side of Gordon's pasta salad. I sat at the bar, with a view of the kitchen. Service was spot on. read more

We were in Erie for the weekend and used Yelp! to find a place to eat, of course. This place was highly rated and we went in with high expectations. It was pretty busy on a Friday night, the hostess was friendly and found a way to seat our party of 5. Overall, I felt like service was the high point of the meal as everyone was very friendly and prompt despite being a packed house. The menu is interesting and has a good variety of foods. But I'm giving three stars for the food itself. It was.... fine. The pizza sauce was the low point, tasted like canned tomatoes. My pork belly tacos had potential but didn't wow me, same with my husband's burger. That's all there is to really say. It was just ok! read more

I went there on a business dinner to celebrate a completed project. Its really really good. The chef really knows what hes doing. Anything out of the pizza oven or off the wood fired grill is gonna knock your socks off. The concept of the butcher shop, restaurant and wine/beer shop under one roof is unique to erie. I stopped in here for dinner while in town for work, I was definitely surprised at everything that's offered in this unmarked small strip mall (Butcher, store, restaurant and wine bar). The space is bright and open so when you enter you have access to all of the (shared) spaces. We arrived on a Tuesday around 6:30 to a fairly buzzing restaurant and we were seated right away by a friendly hostess. We received the standard and specials menu that had many delicious options. I ordered the smash burger with truffle fries and my coworker ordered the hanger steak special. All the food came out pretty quick and was really good the burger came with a pretzel bun which was a nice touch. The steak was a generous portion but at a glance it looked there could have been more potatoes and broccoli. While the burger was very flavorful it felt like it could have been thicker. For dessert we tried the almond cake, it was a bit on the dry side so I can't say I would try it again. I'm looking forward to returning during a future trip and trying the wood fired pizza. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Erie. I have never had a mediocre meal here. Wood-fired pizza is great. Really good. Steak, also great. Mac & cheese, amazing. Charcuterie - proper. I really enjoy the atmosphere and environment here. Highly recommended. read more

The sea bass was ok but it had a pretty sweet flavor .. the steak was ok too .. other party members enjoyed their burger ... and someone enjoyed the cheesecake and soup of the day... it was very casual dining with menu items at a price point for everyone read more
