    Green Chili Mac and Cheese
    David R.

You're in Erie PA on the weekend and it's Lunch Time. Where do you go? Check out Lunch at Firestone! It hits it's mark. My mother had recently been here for a holiday party and remarked how good it was. Recalling the conversation, I suggested we go here before my brother and I fly back to Florida. We agreed and showed up and were promptly seated. Vibe: the restaurant is next to Gordans meat market (pro tip, pick up your cuts here after getting lunch at Firestones). The overall vibe is a modern decor with black tones and white subway tile with an open kitchen concept. Drinks: I ordered the Pinot noir which was interesting because it did not state from where and what brand of Pinot it was. However, it showed up with my soda water and lime. The glassware is nice and the Pinot itself was fine. Appetizer: We opted to start with the green chili Mac and Cheese . It comes out in a nice cast iron vessel. The dish comes with some toasted cheese or bread crumbs on top. The dish has a nice cheese flavor however the green chili barely comes through. It would be good to see the restaurant lean a little further with the green chili. However it's a nice dish when it's 24 degrees out. Food: Pizza: We went with two: the Mushroom red sauce and the arugula, balsamic vinegar with chimichurri and prosciutto. Both were good. My preference at this visit was the red sauce with mushroom. The pizzas themselves were cooked well and the crust is a standard thin crust. All in all the food was enjoyable for lunch but I'm thinking dinner here is way better by looking at the dishes on Yelp. I'll definitely incorporate a stop here on my next visit to Erie! Nice job! 4.5/5.0

This was a nice and pleasant surprise experience! It's located in the Gordon's butcher and Market which was so cool. Estically is was super cute in there. Very open, could see the wood fire ovens, and everyone in the back cooking. Greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Services was good. I recommend making reservations I can see it getting busy, and although nice size it was smaller than I expected. The food and drinks were amazing! As always we pre looked at the menu, and still ended up trying something else lol We got a pizza, Brisket sausage and jalapenos pizza, with a green chili cream sauce! Now as a buffaloian we know pizza, let me say was this buffalo pizza, no, was it great pizza YES! If you like wood fire pizza with great flavor and good price (16) and in the Erie Pa area or passing through, yea stop in!!!! Then we also tried the the chimmi steak sandwich, again, bomb! The steak melted in out mouth and the flavors were so good!!! Washed down with one of their mules of the month, which was lemoncello, which I've never had but loved!!! Melvin is a bourbon guy, and thought they had a great selection, so he enjoyed a nice pour of Eagle Rare Then there is another craft and wine room, where you can enjoy plenty of options of craft beer and wine.

Regular here! Pizza is great. Awesome spot for a casual, laid back dinner on a Friday night. Good for takeout as well!

Wow! I'm not from Erie so I used Yelp! To find a favorite "local" restaurant. I stopped at Firestones for lunch. I was torn between one of the specials and Gordon's Smash Burger. The Smash Burger was possibly the best burger that I've ever had. 1/3lb Ground Brisket, Chuck & Short Rib of Beef, Carmelized Onions, Black Pepper Cooper's Cheese, Toasted Pretzel Roll, Dijon-Mayo. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and served with a side of Gordon's pasta salad. I sat at the bar, with a view of the kitchen. Service was spot on.

Ambiance, service and food were excellent. The restaurant is very clean and the service was great. We came with kids and they even loved the pizza. We ordered a variety of food, pizza, pasta and fries. The truffle fries were excellent and a must try. We got to meet the owner and he was super friendly and kind. If you are in the area or near Splash lagoon this is a great restaurant to visit.

I didn't think too much into the reservation but when I showed up it was definitely not the place I recall (now known as Pier 6) but I recall looking at photos that it would be worth checking it out. We were promptly seated and greeted by the waitress. The lunch menu is brief with a few items in each section of Apps, salads, sandwiches and plates. We opted for the calamari as we heard it was a good app to start with. At the same time we ordered drinks which consisted of coffee, Expresso martini and the aperol spritz. The calamari came out and it was a good amount. However, they were very small and it was dry. We got the perch sandwich and it came out with an enormous amount of shoe string fries which imo are the worse type as they are typically over fried and so were these. Frying a good filet of fish is usually a bad idea and this sandwich would be better served to be grilled when your fries are fried and the calamari is fried too. Service was slow for being an empty restaurant. Note: we had a 4 year old with us and the key is to always rush their food asap so they stay content. Since we waited a bunch of time, we had some ancy people at the table after 1 hour 45 minute lunch where the room was essentially empty. Much improvement can be had otherwise spend your dollars at Pier 6 for a much better experience.

You got a new woman "no lady" who's tweaked out and jumpy but can fetch a beer in less than 10 minutes. Looking in the kitchen I see sanitation hasn't changed. With all that something doesn't feel right anymore. I honestly didn't think new owners could care less or maybe just as inept as the old ones but with that I am impressed. Don't go patting yourselves on the back to fast. The recent influx of business is only due to the lack of options in that part of town. Those wing recipes aren't your own and have been made by mutants with fewer brain cells than morals. Everyone that's ever worked there has them and readily shared them. I got the dill dip recipe from a dip behind the bar last month. Hope you didn't sink your life savings into the place because any minute someone could throw up a liquor license and put you out of business with you helping them. Last week we sat there. No drinks. Made direct eye contact with the big guy, and nothing. That's fine. We got up and got our own. I hope the 3 people at the bar tip well because I won't. I also won't be back.
