And they were like that when I picked them up, not from my drive home. Service was short since I pick up, the girl was nice enough, didn't seem to care. When I walked in I had no idea where to go to pick up my order and the people working looked me in my eyes and continued to have a conversation. We have been going to Blaze in Erie Pa since they opened. Not sure what's happened but the last 2 times we've been there have helped us decide we will no longer be going. The staff is friendly enough but the seating area is filthy. There were 4 staff when we arrived at 7:30 last night plus a manager and no one was in line. The staff was singing loudly, laughing and just goofing around. No one cleaned any of the tables in this free time. All empty tables were dirty. Both ladies and men's room had urine on the toilet seats and floor. Paper towels thrown around full garbage cans and water everywhere. We've never seen a restaurant go down hill so fast. We were going to speak to the manager we saw when we first arrived however he never appeared again the entire hour we were there eating. This is very sad to see as our family has always enjoyed this restaurant. No longer. Not any staff appeared to be bothered at how filthy this restaurant was. And whoever was managing last night, obviously couldn't have been bothered either. Hoping someone who cares may read this and have corporate check into things. We certainly can't be the only family who has noticed this decline. read more

I stopped by Blaze Pizza on the way back to Pittsburgh from Niagara. I ordered Pesto garlic bread and veggie pizza. I enjoyed the garlic bread more than the pizza. The pizza was thin crust. It's not the best I've had but not the worse either. If you're hungry and can't find a spot anywhere, Blaze could be a good option! SUPER disappointed with communication/staffers. The taste was bomb. It's very deliciously made but had complaints. For a company that prides unlimited toppings, my online premade order for a Large pizza was very lackluster. I had a total of 7 tomato halves + some crushed pieces, which meant that I had more pizza slices than tomato toppings. The other toppings also seemed to be skimped out on. However, my main problem was staff + communication. I put in an order for 6pm and planned on running errands prior. The app stated my order was "in progress" so I decided to just grab the pizza first. I came earlier than 6pm, and I ended up waiting till 6:32 without updates. I would be fine if I was told a time range, or an update that orders were delayed, etc. and went to run my errands but instead stood over 30 min. I understand it was dinner/busier but placing a specified pickup time, I did not expect such a long wait. Additionally, around 20 minutes in, I asked a customer if I could ask the worker a question to check on my pizza. The customer let the cashier know, who then ignored me and continued to work. I'd seen Blazes a few times and was a little intrigued, though for whatever reason not necessarily sure I'd love it. But I finally made it to one, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I LOVE that you can put on all the toppings you want!!! And on top of that, they have a lot of fun and unusual toppings. As a result, every bite had a different flavor profile, and it was just really good quality food too. I also liked the Pick Two combo, where you get half a pizza and a big order of cheesy bread; i feel like it's a better value than just a pizza. Love the pesto, and the balsamic, and the combo of the two :) I didn't try the blood orange lemonade, as I always want cola with pizza, but I hope to try it sometime. Just ordered delivery, but it was quick and semi-easy. I wanted the gluten free cauliflower crust and for the life of me couldn't figure out why I didn't have that option for a large pizza. Turns out you can only order the 11' in the cauliflower crust. I honestly like when pizza places try to make a good legit dough crust gluten free, but I really enjoyed the cauli crust. It's flat bread style for sure. It was nice and crispy and not burnt, which is easy to do on the thin crust styles. Loved my choice of BBQ chicken pizza too. Their app also kept you updated on when your pizza was done in store, when it was out for delivery and when it was almost there. I like real time updates when I'm hungry! So, this was my first time at a Blaze and I LOVE IT! First, and foremost, I have to commend the staff. They were all awesome and so helpful! Never being there before, or knowing how it worked, they automatically recognized our curiosity and immediately explained our options and different types of signature pizzas. You can pick one of their own signature pizzas and add or subtract anything to them or you can totally build your own pizza. They have 4-5 different sauces, 8-10 different cheeses, and tons of different meats and veggies. All the pizzas are fired in an oven and accompanied by a salad and/or drink if you'd like. Both of our pizzas were hot, crispy, melty, and fresh! De-LISH!! Overall, I would best describe this as the Pizza version of Chipotle, but better. If that's possible. (I'm a chipotle fan) ...service was great, we even had one of the guys come over to our table and ask what we thought of our first visit. I checked to see if they have one of these in Pittsburgh were I live and I was very excited to see we have two! I will definitely be back. read more

First time here and I was surprised by the speed and efficiency of the ordering line. The texture and flavor of the thin crust was good but we ordered 6 and 2 were a little dark on the bottom. They cook the pizzas at about 535° and I recommend the optionnal salt and herbs at the end. While they make pizzas to order, we chose from the standard menu choices and they were decent. Overall it was a good experience although the rootbeer did not function. The line can get busy so get there early. read more

My new favorite pizza joint in town. It's like the Chipole of pizza. You can also order online so that you can skip the long lines around dinner time. They're all super nice and so accommodating. Last time I went, they must've lost my order in pile of pizzas and when they noticed me standing around for more than 10 mins, they personally came up to me and re-took my order! Visiting Erie for a work conference and I wanted to meet up with a friend. Upon her recommendation, we visited Blaze. Before arriving, she described it as a "Chipotle - but for pizza". Perfect description. We arrived, and waited in line for 10-15 minutes. It was pretty busy around 6:30 p.m. It was worth the wait. I was so nervous... so many toppings, cheese and sauce options. I buckled under pressure and simply ordered the barbeque chicken pizza - one of their special recipes. I added mushrooms and took away the pepper rings. You can put whatever you want on the pizza; that's the cool things about the experience. The pizza crust is super thin, which allows for it to be fired in an oven in about 2 minutes. The pizza is crispy and delicious and hot and perfect. I also got one of their brownies - I don't regret that decision at all. Moral of the story... just do it! Next time, I'm gonna take a risk and build my own pizza. As a side note, the reason my friend recommended this place is because she has Celiac Disease and cannot consume gluten. Blaze has gluten free crust and takes all the precautions necessary to make sure they pay close attention to the gluten-free dietary needs. read more

This used to be my favorite place to go as a vegan. I could load up my pizza with lots of veggie toppings. My husband I went almost every Sunday for well over a year. I had to walk out today when I learned that I would be charged $1 for extra sauce, $1 for extra onions and $1 for extra peppers! I will not be going back. The scoops now used for veggies are so small, maybe less that 1/4 cup, that there are almost no veggies on the pizza. Yet, I notice when someone orders mozzarella and pepperoni, they both cover the surface. Why do the meat eaters get more toppings than the vegans when veggies are the cheaper option? So I asked, "What if I got a build your own and wanted extra onions" the manager said that I would still have to pay extra and that the unlimited toppings means one scoop per topping. So I could get 5 different toppings but not 5 scoops of one topping - HUH??? Does that make any sense? He further said that these are changes that have been made by "Corporate" and he MUST OBEY. Not sure who "Coporate" is, but if you see this - PLEASE reconsider your policy. Maybe up to 2 scoops of veggies for free, but come-on, like 6 peppers for a pizza unless I want to pay more... I drive 45 miles (2 hours round trip) for one specific reason - BLAZE PIZZA! The first thing that will come to mind when you experience the ordering process is "This is just like Subway". Rest assured, the similarity ends there. Subway subs are boring - Blaze Pizza is spectacular with more than enough options to please the pickiest of eaters. A clean and organized environment is always nice but what sets Blaze head and shoulders above other restaurants is their obvious attention to customer service and satisfaction. Quite simply, they obviously place an emphasis on hiring personable/extroverted individuals who successfully make the customer's visit memorable. I must give a special shout-out to Kareem and Ryan for going out of their way to make my most recent visit extremely enjoyable. Wife and I have been here frequently since they opened. I always get the custom pizza, it's the best choice for your buck. The spicy sauce is one of many reasons I keep coming back. Wish more places offered different sauces. The ingredients are always fresh and good quality. We have stopped here in Erie to meet family a couple of times, as it is right in the middle of our drive. This is a basic food spot, with a somewhat small menu of things they do really well. I love their pre-selected menu items, but you can also build your own pizzas and salads too. My favorite pizza is the white top, and my favorite salad is the tomato and mozzarella. Since they are making your meal to order, it can sometimes take a little while to get your food, which is a little different from most counter-service restaurants.
