I was so excited when I stumbled into this store during my trip to Cape Cod. I love comic shops! Plenty of cool (well maybe not cool but nerdy like me) stuff to buy. Figurines of all kinds, comics in the back, novelty items. Place has it all. It also have a fairly extensive collection of board games for sale including ones I have not seen before. I certainly was surprised there were so many different versions of the game Risk. Risk is my favorite board game... granted I haven't played that many. Mostly the Game Center's on you placing your armies in certain parts of the world, and the point of the game is to conquer. Fun!!!! Great store, wish there was one like it near my house!

This afternoon we dropped into Blast From the Past with family visiting the area. The last time we entered the store (a few years back), we loved the experience and talked up this store to our visitors. When we entered the store we quickly realized that the selection has decreased which was a bit of a bummer. The store still had a decent amount of vintage goods, but it lacked the same spunk it used to have. We ended up walking out empty handed, but now we know where to purchase a few items for friends in the future (they love Wizard of Oz.)

    Record players also even better!

This place was not so good when I visited. They don't accept ATM cards and they have not many things there...

This store is awesome, it does something different than a lot of the other cape cod shops.

WHO'S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD, Independently owned and operated, used book store?!?…read more As a traveler passing through a few of the sleepy Cape Towns on the off-season, I stumbled across Greg's while walking Orleans' main street where I encountered a sign propped up against a brick wall bearing a stylized image of Medusa's Mean Mug and reading "Greg's Used Books Around Back". Undeterred and unturned to stone, my buddy and I made a left 'round the building and then a quick right where we saw the entrance to Greg's shop. The entry way was a staircase that lead us down to what we soon learned was considered to be by the political pearl clutchers in the area, Orleans' own underworld. Perhaps they were right, in a sense, given that a book about the blues bearing Robert Johnson's image was the first thing my eyes caught in the enclosed glass case of books near the entrance. Were we about to make a faustian deal of our own? Having descended down below, my buddy and I soon found ourselves in a relatively small yet incredibly well and interestingly stocked book store with posters of Jim Morrison and the Doors decorating the walls, amongst other things. We looked around for a bit and came across not only books, but also true relics from the 80's and 90's, including vhs tapes, boxed super famicom games with beautiful box art, etc. We were eventually greeted not by a Gorgon, but Greg himself, who was really a character and in the best sense of the term. Our conversation with him ran the gamut from owning and operating a business like his to politics, philosophy, and literature. He was a really cool, well versed, interesting, and friendly guy and without any pretense. For that, I respect him and his shop, which I gladly supported with my business. All in all, my experience at Greg's was Good. Everything was reasonably and fairly priced and it turns out that it isn't the underworld that some in town have made it out to be. In fact, perhaps in a world of confusion and inversion, a descent down into Greg's used book store is really a move up.

I would always find good books in the back issue bins and even find some decent stuff in the dollar bins. But my last trip here will definitely be my last as it's not worth the drive anymore. I went a few weeks ago and the selection of books was dismal and most of them are in really bad shape yet they still expect 8-15 dollars for some minor keys in the back issues. The place is also a complete mess when it comes to finding anything and the guy at the register is a jerk and shady. They were having a Black Friday sale and and they said no % off on "new" wall books and then proceeded to tell me that books that were in the wall when I came weeks ago were apparently "new" and that I couldn't get the deal they advertised and I drove 45 minutes for. All in all just about this place

It was much closer than the one in Quincy and had a much better selection than Norwood, so it was a no-brainer. While out earlier, a friend and I decided to stop in. We'd both had been wanting to see if there was a change. Plus, we were in the area as we had just had lunch next door. Best decision ever. Kyle is beyond one of the coolest individuals I've come across when dealing with various comicbook stores in my lifetime. I've been collecting since I was 8, and now, having just turned 50, it's needed. Attentive, friendly, and just plain cool. It was definitely needed and refreshing. Thanks to Kyle, I'll be looking forward to shopping again in the near future!!
