So many Karens reviewing this place ... sheesh! To address the elephant in the room, yes ... this…read moreplace is expensive and maybe a bit overpriced. However, just like if you went to any specialty store ... you are going to pay more for the curating of inventory, the satisfaction of the instant gratification of a purchase and also the overhead. Too many people expect the world of brick and mortar to conform to Amazon prices these days which is just not fair to small shop owners. That being said, this place is about 20% more expensive than other record stores I've been to ... but their selection is 40% better. This place has new and used vinyl ... rare stuff, obscure stuff, weird stuff. And it's all in pretty good shape. I was a bit put off by the fact they don't use the Mint, NM, VG, Good, etc. standard rating system ... and they don't let you visually inspect the actual records until you bring them to the counter. However despite small labels which say 'fine' ... 'plays well' ... 'clean copy' ... 'super clean' ... 'good' I'd rather the known grading scale. The owner told me all records were play tested, cleaned and passed his standard for listenability. That's a heck of a better deal than you'll find on EBay even for graded records, which are often visually inspected. The selection here is great and you can tell it's owned by a music lover vs. someone who just happens to own a shop. The jazz and blues section are particularly well stocked and the new records have many limited editions. One bummer is that they have only a small bargain section where used records in what I'd call VG- or Good condition are $2.50 - $8. I bought 4 bargain records here and two were unplayable ... one was very warped at the edges and the other skipped in several places. It was only $10 for these records but I had to throw 2 of them out. I'd advise to skip the bargain bins. You'll not find much for under $15-$20 in the regular store but the quality is true and tested there. They have some older equipment and turntables and tons of framed concert posters from the 1960's and autographs on the walls which is all for sale. It's fun walking around as it's almost like a hard rock cafe. The other rooms contain a huge selection of incense, hippie clothes, Eastern decor and typical 'head shop' type stuff. The clientele ranged from high school students buying posters and 'tobacco pipes' to older folks looking to pick up some vinyl. The store is pretty close quarters as an old Victorian house converted to a store but its cool just to walk around and channel the 1960's. Don't come here hoping to bargain shop in search of vinyl. However, the selection and love of music that went into collecting all of this to sell is impressive. The owners are a bit salty but I'm sure that has to do with putting up with a lot of high school kids, stoners and tourist types and price complainers over the years. If you are in the Cape and like vinyl or the 1960's, it's a fun stop to make.

I spent about an hour and a half here today. Small but awesome store. The stuff he has on hand is…read moreall quality, with a lot of great specialty and limited edition stuff. The owner is a super nice guy and a wealth of knowledge. He has been in the record store business for almost 40 years. If you ever find yourself on Cape Cod, check him out. Also, Bad Brains and Blood Swear and Tears will be coming hole with me!

Huge store with all types of used and new books. I only had time to look in the children's section…read morewhich was huge and decently organized by categories such as (sensory/cause and effect, holidays, popular authors, language, potty training, family). You could spend a good chunk of time browsing through the bins and shelves. It is great that they have a train table in the kids area so they kids can play while you browse the books. I was searching for Lunar New Year books, but couldn't find any. They had a bin for the big holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter and a general holiday bin for smaller holidays. The employees were nice and can system search by author/title, but they couldn't do a search by general topic/genre.

The Used Book Superstore in Burlington is my personal money pit -- and honestly, I'm fine with it…read more I've never managed to leave with fewer than ten books, and at this point, I don't even pretend I will. The selection feels endless. Every genre, every niche, and then, just when you think you've seen it all, there's a wall of Blu-rays, DVDs, video games, board games, and random bits of memorabilia you didn't know you wanted until they're already in your basket. The prices are almost insulting to other stores. Seriously, I've paid more for a cup of coffee than I have for some of the books here. You'd almost feel guilty... except you don't, because you're too busy carrying out a stack taller than your torso. The staff is excellent -- actually helpful, not the fake "let me know if you need anything" kind. They've tracked down what I came in looking for, and then somehow convinced me to walk out with three more titles I didn't even know existed. My shelves at home are groaning under the weight of their recommendations, but sure, suggest me another series. Why not. I've been a regular for about a year now, and as long as I live in Massachusetts, this will be one of the few places I actually look forward to throwing money at. You never know what you'll find here, which is exactly why I keep coming back.

Great antique store... with a lot of wonderful Knick-knacks, stuff, and needful things…read more Multi-sellers vie for a space to sell their wares. A big building, a good layout, and there is a barn next door too. Walking through was nice as I did not feel as though I'd bump into something. This place is no…read moreexception ... you'd do much better on a lot of the stuff on EBay or at a garage sale, for sure. But, its fun to look ... especially since it's rained almost every @%!& day in July and what else does one do in the rain on Cape Cod than browse and shop? First of all ... the used records pulled me in. The selection was pretty picked over. Barely any classic rock of note ... lots of jazz and eclectic stuff. However, HUGELY overpriced and the condition of many records was a bit rough. Some pricing examples ... The Doors, Soft Parade original in VG+ condition was $45. Owch. Lots of Beatles records for $30 - $100. Edith Piaf album I paid $2.50 for on EBay was over $12. You have to bring the copies of the over $15+ albums to the counter to inspect the condition. The vinyl section was crowded but honestly, not many bargains to be had. They have LOTS of stuff ... the store is a long barn and filled to the brim. There was a wall of 'vintage' Nautical paintings of sailors for $150 - $350, depending on the size. To me, they looked like they were painted recently. While cool, in a retro-kitchy fashion, the price was steep for a faux vintage Sea Captain painting. There were cases of old toys, costume jewelery and other antique stuff. I saw a couple authentic British Pub signs for $500 which were cool. They had some vintage cameras but many were untested and the same price as the tested ones online. The vintage typewriters had keys which were stuck and were priced the same as tested working ones online. I walked out empty-handed but I give 4 stars because it was a good way to spend an hour browsing on a rainy day. The only thing I was considering buying was a jazz record I wanted to listen to that night but it had a pretty scuffed surface, so I passed. Three people in front of me bought records ... maybe they were luckier or less picky. You may find something cool here but don't plan on finding inexpensive treasure. At the very least its fun to look.
