Throughout our week here at the Le Blanc Spa Resort, we've opted to eat here on a couple of occasions. It's first come first serve, so try to avoid the dinner rush or you'll be waiting for over an hour. But versus their International restaurant, their Italian and French, I'd say this one is right in between them. Their Italian is tops, the International is horrible, but we'd rather eat here than the French restaurant. It's just our preference.
+=+ Service & Dining +=+
~ The service seemed to be on-point. We didn't ask for much, but the staff did come back to check on us from time to time. I hate tipping, but good service deserves it. So of course I tipped! C'mon now, I'm not that cheap.
~ Their dining area is really really really nice here! Sturdy hardwood tables and chairs. Clean and modern too. Fancy looking lamps, and lit up designs along the walls. Probably the best looking restaurant next to the Italian.
=+= Appetizers & Plates =+=
~ Tuna tataki: Fresh tuna in yuzu sauce. Good stuff! But then again, I enjoy salty things!
~ Takoyaki Karaage: Eh, not what I'm accustomed to. They're little fried octopus fritters with a sweet and sour sauce. I didn't care for it.
~ Scallops in Wasabi sauce: Didn't care for this as well, but I scarfed it down quickly as the dish was just tiny.
~ Shoyu Ramen: With seafood and plenty of it. Different, but tasty for their version of ramen. The broth was pretty good.
~ Pork Belly with Japanese Curry sauce: This was a winner! I ordered this several times. Tender pork belly that went well with the sauce. Soft and bursting with flavor!
~ Moriwase Sashimi: Now this was refreshing. It's basically set up like a salad with shrimp, scallops, octopus, hamachi, salmon, and tuna. I definitely enjoyed this one.
~ Ishiyaki: Fun with a hot grilling stone! This came with slices of beef, shrimp, tuna and salmon. Choosing this made for an enjoyable last night in Cancun!
~ Sushi rolls: We tried a couple, but again we didn't care for them. And I hate the fact that they need to satisfy folks by adding stupid cream cheese; It's just blasphemous and doesn't belong in sushi!
