Restaurant part: 2 stars. The Asian Fusion restaurant on the property, as you can tell from the name. I was excited to try their food and everything on the menu sounded great. They offer things like sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, ramen, Korean fusion dishes, fried ice cream and more. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with all the items I ordered. The Dragon roll was fine but everything else was very bland tasting. The ramen had almost no flavor in the broth and the meat was also tasteless. I ordered the Japchek and again, it looked good, but again no flavor. It was just stir fried together with no spices or flavoring! It was really odd... Gyoza - they was submerged in a pool of soy sauce and that was the only thing that gave it flavor. But the wrapper and filling was meh. Fried ice cream - it was mainly a thick layer of dough with what seemed like vanilla sauce in the middle (probably because the ice cream fully melted). Hot & Sour Soup - it was neither hot or sour. It was like a light vegetable broth soup. Hibachi (Teppanyaki) Dinner: 4 stars. The only saving grace for this place is the hibachi dinners they offer downstairs (reservation required). You get to watch the chef put on a show and cook hibachi food. Finally, some flavor!!! We urged on the chef to spray more "pepsi/coca cola" (aka. Soy sauce) on the food and that tasted much much better. He actually salted and peppered the meat which I don't think any of the other restaurants do..... The show as great, our chef, Johnny!, was awesome! He was funny and entertaining. We got rib eye & veggies for entrée, thai or miso soup, sushi, and a lychee dessert. There were other options for entrees such as salmon, beef filet, chicken, etc. All in all, I personally only recommend the Hibachi dinner. The place still looked popular to others I guess ....

We were definitely fans of this Asian restaurant. Located to a quieter side of the hotel, this restaurant did not draw a big crowd during lunch time. Majority of the people dining inside were Asian! We do wish we went here again during our stay, but there's so many good places at Zilara. Between the shrimp, sushi, and salmon. I would have them all again! My fiancé really enjoyed his beef as well!

Grilled salmon with mixed veggie fried rice

Great little hibachi restaurant located inside the Hyatt resort. I had the grill salmon and mixed vegetable fried rice. The salmon was tied up with a creamy mayo and teriyaki type sauce. I asked mine to be cooked well so the sauce added a great bit of flavor and moisture. I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the miso soup tho. The chef was very skilled and entertaining very nice decor and atmosphere I would recommend this place if you are wanting some good hibachi style grilled food

We didn't have to make reservations for dining in for sushi, but you do have to make one for hibachi. Which we did for the next night. So we are definitely returning. So.. we ordered: For my Mr. Edamame Miso shiru Sashimi Kaizoku maki Mitsumame For me: Gyoza Cameron roca Ebi tempura temaki Spicy shake maki Cheesecake de matcha All the food was on point, they were bringing each one individually and I didn't feel rushed. Love my white wine. It paired well with all of it. My favorite was the tempura shrimp, sushi, and the dessert. The sushi was one of the best I've ever had and loved my pork gyoza. My Mr loved everything he ordered. He cleaned his plate, that how he liked it. When we come back to Cancun, we will make it a point to come back here again! It's that good. I can't wait for hibachi the next night!

All the food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere is very laid back. If you're going for sushi, they give you five courses from start to finish, so you're definitely not leaving still hungry. This is what my lady and I chose: Me: Edamame Miso shiru Sashimi Kaizoku maki Mitsumame My lady: Gyoza Cameron roca Ebi tempura temaki Spicy shake maki Cheesecake de matcha Everything came out separately and we never once felt rushed. Our server was very friendly and helpful with it all too. We're already planning on going back to try the hibachi, which they recommend reservations for if you're going. Kanpai!

They brought out special dessert to celebrate special occasion. Really loved it. Second visit: We walked in for dinner, busy. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and we were as patient as can be. Tables around us received seconds before we ever got our original order. I was looking forward to dinner but it was about an hour and I gave up. We got up and informed the front that the wait was too long and other tables after us received better service. Things happen. The manager on duty apologized. Second visit didn't ruin my thoughts on Moongate. Their menu is great and the atmosphere was lovely.

In terms of restaurant options at the Hyatt Ziva, I would put Moongate kinda in the middle tier. It was basically one the meals we were fine with and would consider going back while we were at the resort. Ordered: - Sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Catch of the Day (Sea Bass) - one of the thickest and widest cuts ever. - Special Kiuri Maki - this one was ok. I preferred the other maki we got. - Maguro Spicy Maki - Bibimbap - Lo Mein - this portion was really big in my opinion and they give a lot of protein. - Banana Mille Feuille - a bit dense for me. my least favorite dessert we had at the resort.

Wow pretty blown away by this hibachi place. I did not expect it to be as good as it did!…read more You must make reservations here before hand and usually reservations fill up quick so make one as quick as possible when you can! Once you check in, you get sat down at a hibachi table and soon the waiter takes your drink order. The waiter also explains that the menu is the same for everyone which includes chicken, steak and shrimp with fried rice. The chefs soon roll in with thier carts and introduce themselves and start the show. Each chef has a unique way but in the end its all the same and reminds me of pretty much any hibachi place I have been too. Food was good but a bit salty like majority of the food here. Probably to match the salty american taste buds of most people. Also the food was little in quantity and unlike other resturants, you cant really ask for more because they can't make more right there again. I felt like I only got half the amount I should've gotten because the chef ended up taking a good 1/3 of what he made in each step (fried rice, shrimp, steak, chicken, veggies) for himself in the back. I just wished if he was gonna also mske food for himself then he should've brought more ingredients and not make us have to not get enough food. My reservation was at 6pm and I ended up getting hungry again and went to the itallian resturant around 9 for some pasta. Show was good, food was good just tad salty, service good, just quantity of food was too little. It was just a taste more than anything..
