They didn't charge for the service call and had an estimator, Omar, out here the same day. He laid out all the options and we chose our new HVAC. They scheduled our install for the following week, which is unheard of in this post-pandemic world. Randolph and Bryan showed up on time and were quick in their work. They completed the install and clean up by early afternoon and took measurements for a new custom door to cover the HVAC system. Today Andrey came to install the custom door. He was also quick, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, everyone involved from start to finish was top notch. The entire process only took three weeks, as compared to five months to replace a broken garage door in 2021 and a year to replace our kitchen in 2022. We already trusted Air Stars because we had them install Mitsubishi ductless units 18 months ago in our granny unit (to replace baseboard and wall heaters and to add A/C). We are very pleased with Air Stars and would recommend them.

Their prices were very reasonable and the service was prompt and professional. The sales process felt a little drawn out, and I was not interested in spending more than necessary. Over all I would definitely recommend them.

We had Evergreen come out to give us a quote on a repair or replacement of a toilet. The technician…read moretold my wife that the toilet we had was for a pressurized system and told her about how dangerous they were and how they can hurt people. We have used this system for 5 years. He said that he could replace the entire toilet, so she tried to get a hold of me, but I was at work and not available. She felt pressured to make a decision so she told him to just replace the toilet. They then charged her almost $1100 to replace the toilet. The new toilet runs about $285 at Home Depot. Of course, later that same evening we got a quote back from another reputable company, saying their cost for putting in a new toilet was $375, which did not include the price of the toilet, which we had originally planned to supply for whomever did the work. I called and talked to a manager about the astronomical costs and they provided me with the following information/excuse for their costs. The breakdown of how they charge is as follows: 40% for parts and labor 10% for pure profit 50% goes towards operating costs such as their fleet of vehicles and advertising. So just remember that when your quote comes back to you, 50% of your quote is just to pay for their vehicles and their advertising cost and has nothing to do with the cost of actually doing work for you. I wish I would've seen the reviews about them price gouging prior to even calling them. Because I called them to question their price gouging and scare tactics, they did refund us $54.00, as if that makes up for the several hundreds of dollars they overcharged us.

Dear Jeremiah W…read more Please explain why the costs for "drive time" and "warranty" were not disclosed before the service was booked, yet were added to the final bill. Mr. Rooter advertises flat-rate pricing rather than hourly charges; if that is truly the case and prices are not determined arbitrarily, why are your flat-rate prices not available anywhere online? Additionally, your technician serviced an elderly woman's home and charged an excessive amount for the work performed. This is deeply concerning. Shame on your business for engaging in such practices.

Jessica let me know that was no problem, they could send someone out Monday morning. She wasn't sure what time, possibly between 10 and 11 but they would call me before arriving. I missed the call from Nicole while in the shower, but she followed up by a text to make sure I knew Jonathan would be here within 35 minutes. I love this attention to customer service. Jonathan showed up as scheduled and took a look at my water heater and assessed what my issue was which was low water pressure at the kitchen faucet and he informed me that I did not need a new water heater, which was a big relief. Jonathan is the one that helped me with my hose bib and just as last time he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He identified the issue as likely some buildup in the line at the kitchen faucet. He was able to back-flush the line and found a small chunk of rust from my lovely steel pipes. It had gotten stuck and caused sediment buildup. Water pressure restored, no water heater replacement needed (phew) and I am back in business! I love their cost structure because it's not by the hour. It's by the job and what they do, etc. and I find that to be extremely reasonable. Their combined affordability, personable employees and exceptional customer service, is why I keep coming back to them. I highly recommend them! Thanks Jessica, Nicole and Jonathan!

They do not honor their work warranty. They came out to my house which had a clogged sewer drain…read more I told them clearly where I suspect the clog was. The decided to clear out a different part of the line such that water was barely flowing. Upon having to come out the second time (6 days later) when the house was backed up again, they found where the real issue was - exactly where I said it would be. They didn't have the right camera equipment to diagnose the issue and took the easiest approach to maximize their hourly rate. Their initial receipt said "30 day warranty" on the work. However, they charged full price to come out the second time. $550 for the first time, $750 for the second visit when he *actually* fixed the problem by popping the toilet. They should have either done the job correctly the first time, or honored their work warranty (which included diagnosing where an issue is) and reduced how much the second charge was. Just expect that they will do poor work the first time they come out to get your system in minimum working order just so they can bang you again shortly after. I would hire a different plumber that knows how to do the job correctly.

I appreciated that she might make it a same day appointment but the problem was not urgent. When she arrived, she quoted me: Option 1: $592 to do a "4-5 year (spot) fix" on the pipe ("one hour" of work) plus the $100 fee for a total of $692. Option 2: Replace the whole pipe (15 feet to each joint, "all day" job) for $817 total. I chose Option 1. Then she called and said the pipe was leaking on both ends, so I had to do option 2. Then she called me again and said when she was replacing the pipe, another pipe broke (another 15 foot section) and the new estimate was $2326! I was shocked. So she said, she could "cap the one that broke but you won't be able to use that sink." With no choice given the situation she described, I agreed to the repair... however, in THREE hours, she said the job was done. Given her original explanation of a full days work for 1 pipe, I expected 2 days of work for the 2 pipes. She clearly misled me about the scope of work. As much as I would like to support a young, woman plumber (having been a woman business owner myself), I can only tell you that you should steer clear of this business or expect to be taken advantage of, just like I was. She has only had her plumbers license for 2 months- hope she learns that misleading and misrepresenting her services will not lead to a successful long-term business.
