They returned the product back almost 30 days after it was purchased via ebay money back guarantee for the product being defective and not showing a display screen. There was no communication at me at all stating the product was not working. After getting the item back, I inspected the unit and noticed the warranty sticker was tampered with on the screw of the gpu. The unit was then opened and noticed right away the gpu die and ram was taken out. This is why the gpu was 'defective' Do not do business with this shady company! Okay, guys, I have to give Blair Technology 5 stars. I purchased two desktop computers Windows. One of those computers was a refurbished gaming computer. I also purchased a refurbished gaming laptop. Every single one of them played excellently. I bought them over two years ago. and everything is still functioning perfectly. I did have a small issue with one of the refurbished computers (desktop windows) that I bought, where the power system was going in and out. The power cord would not seal and kept moving causing the system to shutdown. I contacted support, and they immediately said you can either return it to us, and we'll fix it. Or if you think that you have the skills to take it off and replace it, we'll just send you a replacement power source. I opted in to do it myself, and I figured they were going to send me just a kind of a small block-sized power cube. It wasn't a small block. It was like the size of a brick. It was very easy to replace. So far, with refurbished computers and laptops, I have been very happy with the products. I am astonished to see the less than 5 stars on here for these guys with a low rating about their customer service because in my case. The customer service has been very, very good and I have even suggested to others to purchase from this company. I will continue to purchase from this company. read more

I purchased two different units from same company through a third party vendor. The initial system was advertised as having 32gb of RAM. It came with 16gb. I called this company directly to complain and was told it was because the 3rd party put the wrong info on their website. I had to go out and buy additional ram and pay to have it installed after I had purchased the unit from this company. Ordered recently and they sent me a failed system. System stated no storage. I called and ask for a call back. I received emails with no name listed to identify who was sending them with tech help. I had to call HP to figure out the "no storage issue." My stepmom bought what she thought was a new computer on Walmart.com. We opened on Christmas Day to discover an HP monitor and a beat up Dell tower. It was was supposed to be all Dell. In the very fine print we found out it is a refurbished product. The monitor power button was smashed and the monitor was inoperable. I borrowed a monitor to try to set up the computer for my Dad. Horrible customer service. They blocked me from chat functionality and also blocked my cell phone number because I brought up in chat that their Windows software is pirated. They state on Newegg that their Windows software is installed brand new and comes with a new license, yet 1) I did not receive a new license in the packaging, and 2) Blair chat told me I had to call Microsoft and get the new license from them, which required me to buy a license after Microsoft confirmed it was pirated software. I cannot contact them because they blocked me from chat and all calls from my phone get a busy signal. They then sent a reply to Newegg stating that they blocked my phone because I kept calling repeatedly and they were busy... which is a complete lie from them because if I call from another number it goes right through. Do not do business with them. These computers are not inspected. They just install a fresh (pirated) version of Windows and ship it to you. My computers arrived with loads of dust inside them. There is no HDMI, even though it's advertised. The scam is false advertising and a bait and switch, yet when you try to contact them to get it fixed, they block you forever. I purchased a desktop computer from Blair Technology less than a month ago for a new remote job opportunity. Everything was fine, until I started downloading required software on Oct. 22nd for my new job. My hard dive crashed, and I explained to customer service that I was starting a new job on Oct. 26th, and needed a replacement ASAP. She told me that my replacement hard drive would arrive Saturday Oct. 24th. I did not receive the replacement until yesterday evening, Oct. 29th. This caused me to miss the first week of training for my new job. I installed the new hard drive as soon as it arrived, but the computer wouldn't boot up. I called tech support first thing this morning, and they said I needed to exchange the tower. I dropped it off at UPS ASAP, and called back for them to now send the replacement. I was told they would try to get it out today, and ship it ground. I explained that I needed the freight expedited, otherwise I will lose my job opportunity. The rep said they can't expedite. I then asked to speak with a supervisor, the rep said "she'll just say the same thing, so I'm trying to save you time". I said, well I would still like to speak with a supervisor. She then said, "okay give me your email address". I said, are you telling me that I can't speak with your supervisor? She said, "well she's at lunch, but I can take your number". I gave her my number, and no one ever called back!! I also emailed the support team, and they told me that they would ship my replacement as soon as I drop off my tower to UPS...I replied stating that I had already done so, and to please expedite considering I will lose my new job. Needless to say, I never received a tracking number for my replacement tower, and I probably wont see it until 5-7 days. I'm disappointed that I have had this computer for less than a month, and have already had two major issues. I am also disappointed that the supervisor never returned my call. I understand company policy, but what happened to putting the customer first, especially during Covid??? I bought a desktop computer from them back in June and everything was going well for 2 months until my screen started to have lines through the screen at random times. I let them know and they weren't any help at all, and insisted that it was probably a faulty cable. After purchasing a new one, it still had the same issue. This was supposed to come with a 90 day warranty which would be the 22nd of this month. I do find it strange that less than 2 weeks away from the warranty ending, that they don't want to do anything about it since it'll officially be off of warranty. I wish I would've done a little bit of research about the company before my purchase because you would see several reviews discussing there horrible customer service, and how there products "actually" are. read more

The machine (Dell Optiplex 3010) arrived before expected date. it was reasonably packed and included everything promised, or so I thought. The WiFi dongle, cheap keyboard and mouse, power cord were present. The inside of the machine was spotless, no dust, looked like a new CMOS battery was put onboard. I booted up, it asked for the usual MS Account info and Windows 10 Home came up. Perfect. The next day I noticed the little "Windows is not actiavted" message on the bottom right of the screen. Settings tells me there is a verification number there but it is the wrong one. I can only see the last fiver digits, so I figure the wrong # has been entered. I'll just fire off an email to BlairTech support and get the correct activation number. When I contacted BlairTech the first time about the activation issue, the person who replied suggested I had used the verification code on another machine, rather than the one I purchased. Like I had used it illegally, basically. How I would use a 25 digit alpha-numeric code when I only have access to five of those characters on another machine, I'm not sure. Not a good start. After I further explained the issue, he got back to me saying he had a link for me and I should go there and follow those instructions and it MIGHT possibly work. Which of course it did not. SLUI 04 though command window stuff. Basically just removing the number and re-entering it using a different method. Luckily command line stuff doesn't bother me, I'm well versed in DOS and have been using Windows since 3.1. By now I had figured out the wrong image was on the drive and there was going to be no way of verifying this machine with Windows Home on it. It needs Pro. I don't need Pro. I would have purchased a machine with Pro on it if that is what was required. Makes sense? I know Pro is "better" but again, that's not what I bought. I'm again emailing back and forth with their tech support trying to get them to understand the real issue. They suggest I go into the Microsoft store and download the correct image, after wiping and restoring their install. Which would mean i would have to download Win 10 Pro to match the previous owner's install. Grr. And I had no idea if the verification code given to me would even work. I'm told I could return the machine for an exchange or refund. Not an option for me and a lot of hassle anyway at my end. So I tried contacting Microsoft, explained the situatin and received a work around to get my system activated. That was more command line stuff and entering an ungodly long 40 or 50 odd character string into a series of boxes. So yeah, that was a few frustrating hours of my time to resolve issues caused by BlairTech's team. I emailed their tech support and let them know I had resolved the issue on my own, thank you very much. The reply was "We were attempting to make this right for you. We'd like to get this issue resolved as soon as possible." I later got an email from a Newegg BlairTech rep asking me if I would like to do a hard drive swap. One used HDD for another with a different image on it. No, I'm good. Today I received a non expiring $5.00 off coupon on my next order of 100 bucks or more. Thanks BlairTech! read more

Purchased HP system from Walmart Marketplace. The system came from the Blair Technology Group. The system was 12 years old. The ports were all pin ports and the system crashed within minutes of setting up. I returned and they charge me $75 for the return. So with all of the inconvenience that I endured, they would not refund the full amount. I urge anyone to think twice before they buy from this company and to check the BBB and other reviews. i purchased a Blair Tech computer from their eBay posting several years ago so i don't recall all the details but i vaguely recall that "Blair Tech" is a DEMOLITION COMPANY and that is apparently where they are getting their stock from. my computer did not come with ram which is most unusual; the computer failed when i installed my own excellent ram. cs spoke to their "Tech Steve" who told them to have me permute the ram sticks in the slots which i did and the computer still failed. they told me to ship it back at my expense and charged ?% restock fee! astounding gall! i don't see them on eBay now and it is likely that eBay kicked them out. this is a GONIFF COMPANY and as the other posters are saying: STAY CLEAR OF THEM in that they represent nothing but frustration and monetary loss. read more

I ordered a pc at BTG through Walmart. It didn't say that it was refurbished. It came a week early than they promised but I was surprised to received a torn box. Inside were an old mouse, new keyboard, and an old computer tower with the multiple cord s that don't fit on the monitor . I talked to customer rep and I told her that I wanted to return it. She said that she would send me a label for shipping. I waited for a week but she never did, so I returned it and was thankful that I got my money back. I lost $49 for the shipping, though. I don't usually post any reviews, let alone bad ones. But I purchased my son this desktop computer in July 2020. When the 1st package arrived, several components were not properly installed. The CD drive wouldn't even fit all the way in and was protruding at least an inch out from the tower. Also, it looked like they replaced some screws with dabs from a glue gun. Since I just received the package, I guess they were OK with a replacement. When the replacement arrived in August it still looked like it wasn't put together all that well but seemed to function, so we did not pursue another replacement. Fast forward to January (5 months use) and a bright blue flash came from the back of the computer and it shut off on its own. When I called, they tried to blame it on a power surge (that never happened) and told me to take it to a repair shop. No offer to troubleshoot the product, no, "I'm sorry, thank God your house didn't burn down", nothing! Thank God I got the ext. warranty, or I'd be hosed! If you're thinking about using this company, DON'T! You're better off having the neighbor kid build you one. He/she would probably take more time and pride in their product! read more

Blair Tech/Tech Castle: Have purchased 3 SSD (solid state Hard Drives) w/Win 10 installed in program to update my systems now running Win 7 due to Microsoft no longer supporting this operating system. As the hardware is in excellent shape, and operates well, decided to make switch to solid state Drives as long as I was updating to Win 10. All the staff at Tech Castle/Blair Tech has been more than helpful; with Chris Farmer going "above & beyond" in servicing my needs and requests. How can you rate something when the computer that was sent was not a working tower, it kept giving back information to do F5 and since I have cataracts I asked my daughter to tell me what to do. I was there, and yet Blair accused us of opening a tower which we did not do. the computer took over when it came to Defender. Their problem is they are not honorable at all. My computer was to be at on house on the 24th, UPS thought I was crazy because I kept getting fake tracking information so trust me it was not a happy situation at all. Compulsive liars trying to stall for time while they hold your money for items they don't actually have. They took my money and after 21 days, all I had was a fake tracking number. For three weeks, I asked where my computer was. Every time I asked, I got a completely different story. When I finally reached someone, their justification was that customer service is unaware of what happens with product supply or shipping so they did their best to just tell me whatever came to mind without any basis in fact. To paraphrase, they meant well when they were fabricating lies and that's all that should really matter. In other words, their customer service people make up untrue things just to shut you up and you're supposed to be grateful because at least they tried to placate you. Original review: October 2020 (date lost on adding update) Do not buy! Bought computer and monitors on eBay. Monitors were incompatible with computer/OS. Even Steve in tech support could not make them work with remote access. Exchanged (after wrangling and mistakes). Replacements had same incompatibility problems. Unable to get partial refund for monitors. They say refund was processed, but I have not received it days later. In other words, this is most likely a lie. Customer "service" stopped replying to my email and eventually blocked my phone (landline and then cell). Even online chat hung up on me. If refund does not appear very soon I shall process an ic3 complaint (Internet Crime) because this amounts to fraud. This company should not be allowed to trade. Furthermore they should not be endorsed by one of the largest tech companies in the world (although I can find no independent evidence - only their own claims - that this company is in fact authorized by MS). Tried to get through to Microsoft to question this, but contacting anyone there is a losing game. Poor merchandise and appalling customer "service", the worst I have encountered yet. A couple of additional items: they lied to me about the value of the monitors in the listing (claiming $50 each instead of $90). And the keyboard and mouse they supplied are c**p. Admittedly they made no difference to the price of the computer, which says something. I, too, wish I had read reviews here before buying. Don't make the same mistake. -------------------- Update: 5 November 2020 Following my sending a letter (snail mail) to the CEO, the head of Customer Services reached out to me - immediately. She apologised sincerely for what she admitted was some unacceptable and inexplicable treatment I had received; she provided the requested partial refund and the return label to send back the faulty merchandise; she also provided some other compensation. This is a good example of customer service - righting the wrongs. Good though this may be, all of the above is an indelible part of history - it happened, and it should not have. The customer should not have to contact the CEO in order to get adequate service. Furthermore, the failure (twice) of a computer company to provide monitors which work properly, despite the claim of thorough testing, does not encourage me to buy there again. In view of the rectification (which included an offer of two brand new monitors - too late, I had already bought elsewhere, having been without for 2 months), I have changed my rating from 1 star to 2 stars. The description "Could've been better" is true, albeit still something of an understatement. -------------------- Update: 8 January 2022. In early December (2021) this computer failed to boot. My local technician was unsurprised - the hard drive had about 80,000 hours on it. As I had had this for 14 months, only a small fraction of those hours could have been added by me. In other words, I was sold a hard drive that could be expected to die at any time. This drops the rating back to the original 1 star. I'm now out by nearly $300 for data retrieval and new hard drive, not to mention the 20+ hours of setting up the new system to my specifications (again) and lost productivity. I know where I shall NOT be getting my next computer. And really, there's nothing Blair TG can do to salvage this; their reputation lies in tatters. I am not sure why they have such low ratings. I have purchased 2 computers with dual monitors from Blair Technology Group. The first computer had zero issues. The second purchase one of my screens did not work. I called and support logged into my screen to check out what was happening. I asked if they tested their refurbished machines and they assured me they did. Sometime must have happened to this screen during shipping. They emailed me a prepaid shipping receipt to ship back the monitor. I had to call them again today for a setting issue. The tech, Steve, was able to walk me through the process to fix the settings issue. Overall I cannot complain. Both issues I had were handled instantly. read more

When I finally received a response I was told "I wasn't the one who made the mistake", "you are a nasty person" and hung up on when I said I was upset and wanted to be heard. The email response I received from the company offered no apology, but said that when I said I wanted to be heard, they couldn't help a customer who wouldn't let them. Of course I wanted to be heard. I went 7 days without an acknowledgement. The offer I was given was to return to product and wait 2 weeks for a refund. I bought the laptop for my daughter to go to school virtually. About 30 un-returned calls and e-mails later, I finally got a person on the phone, who tried to blame me for them confusing my name with someone else, then she called me rude. This seller provides only a 90 days warranty for a reason. I purchased a renewed desktop from Blair through Amazon in July 2019. It all started when the second monitor couldn't be detected by the PC. I had to contact Blair's customer service to find out that I had to uninstall and reinstall certain drivers. After about 3 months I started hearing annoying humming noise coming from the tower (from the hard drive area). Noise became louder over time. I contacted Blair's custom support again. After a week of going back and forth (they kept asking to send them videos), they just told me that my warranty expired, and I should go to a local shop the get my PC checked. They did not even try to suggest some troubleshooting or any help. Do not expect help from this company. Based on my internet research, this sound may be a sign of failing hard drive and I potentially can lose all my data.
