Everyone is very friendly here. The coffee is good, and I had the carrot cake which had layers of whipped goodness between the cake layers. They have a great selection of baked goods to take home for tomorrow morning's breakfast. Oh - and they have two separate rooms for seating. Great place to stop and take a break between shopping in a cute neighbourhood. read more

Quaint Fort Langley. Has a better selection than Wendell's Cafe. Has a cool vibe and good quality baking. Expensive but where isn't these days. There is additional seating in the rear which is more quiet. read more

We saw the big line, the good Yelp reviews and we were excited for lunch. Their ham and cheese croissant was bad. Croissant is supposed to be flaky... and there was just a lump of ham in the middle. Then ordered a turkey sandwich, can't remember it's name it's the first sandwich on the board. It was lack lustre and bland. I was starving and only ate half to be polite. Pretty damn disappointed. Won't ever go back. Only giving them two stars because the staff was nice, friendly polite and the place felt friendly. Really wanted to like this place :( read more

Ordered some cakes and cookies they were good as always, ordered 2 large London fogs, they took awhile and was given MEDIUMS. The girl offered to remake them but like I said it takes awhile for them to make drinks and didn't want to wait. read more

Nice pastries but not the best I've had, drinks are fine. They have bottled drinks from other brands, coffee/tea that they make. Recently for the summer they have kombucha as well for $5. Quite a few tables and seats inside and a couple more outside. Nice interior and decent atmosphere read more

Been going there for several years! Staff there are great and the same people have worked there for many years so it's like nothing changes. Gender neutral bathrooms are great for transgender people, such as myself. All of the food is good and the pastries are amazing! The town seems to agree, as the place is never close to empty. read more

We were exploring the area for the day and ended up here for a coffee break. The line up was long. The selection was limited for a weekend afternoon. We ordered the last slice of Victoria sponge cake, a pain au chocolat and a latte. The barista was not having a good day. I asked for a fork to go with my slice of cake when I received my latte and she was snappy and told me it was at the counter. However, there was no cutlery left so I informed her and she told me to wait for more cutlery in a snappy tone. She also made two drinks incorrectly as I waited for cutlery that another barista who was doing dishes earlier took over. I know we have bad days, but people should stay professional or switch out sooner. The cashier and other barista/dishwasher were more friendly. The baked goods were both fantastic. No complaints there. Definitely quality ingredients were used to make the cake and pain au chocolat. My latte was good too as it was basic enough for the barista to not mess up on. Plenty of seating available. This place is a nice way to pass the time while exploring the area. 4 stars for the baked goods. read more

Great coffee, which is important if you only drink decaf! The pastries are beautiful and tempting. The avocado toast with poached eggs is satisfying and flavorful. The owner is clearly trying to do away with single use plastic and offers wooden utensils for takeout orders. I hear he's opening another cafe in Brookswood soon! Luck South Langley! read more

We came here on a Saturday and it was very busy, staff seemed quite stressed and abrupt, maybe they need more people working? I had a scone it was very over baked with a hard outer layer it was also greasy on the bottom and tasted of oil, instead of lining back up to go inside and request something else I just threw it in the trash after 2 bites. Had a drip coffee with it which was good. I would maybe give this place another try on a weekday when it wasn't so busy because customer service and food quality were not good while there was a crowd. read more

Might be the winner of the worst service I've received in 2017. I'm a fairly patient person and not the type to cause a stink in a restaurant (which I didn't), but the service was egregious. I ordered the Chorizo Hash from their all day breakfast menu, took a number, and had a seat while my wife enjoyed her croissant and coffee. While the coffee was made in short order, it was the food that took forever. Around the 20 minute mark, I figured it wouldn't be more than another 5-10 minutes. At about 30 minutes from the time of placing my order, I began to look around. The cafe wasn't overly busy, nor was it anywhere near capacity - just a few people milling about to get their coffee and baked goods. At one point someone from the kitchen came out and tried to give me a salad which I hadn't ordered - no big deal. I just turned it away and they took it where it belonged. At about 35 minutes one of the line cook captains came out and explained to me that they couldn't get their poached egg right despite having tried 6 times, and that I'd have to wait a few more minutes. No apologies, no offer to top up my already cold coffee, just the cook telling me I'd have to wait for their lack of culinary skills/know how? The family sitting next to me asked if I'd been waiting a long time for my food, to which I agreed and they began to look worried. After 45 minutes I tracked down the counter staff who took my order and asked her politely if she could look into my order, it had been 45 minutes after all. Again, no apology, just the "I'll look into it" line. The food came out promptly, but my coffee was cold but I felt more turned off by the service. The server/kitchen help that brought out the food just plopped it on my table and went away without an apology, or whatever. For a place that serves all day breakfast, you'd think they get poached eggs down to an art form, especially when All Day Breakfast makes up a good portion of the menu. I get better service at a Starbucks than this local business - I'll be skipping this place in the future in lieu of other shops in the area. The coffee was fine and the croissant was good, but the service and lack of customer care really did leave something to be desired - especially when they have the stones to ask for a tip. If you do go, skip the all day breakfast, as you may indeed be waiting all day for it. read more

Great treats and brunch/lunch items. No public WiFi so tuck your laptops away! Can get pretty crowded but the nice kind of crowded. People here are very friendly and charming. Try having a seat outside on a less windy sunny day, you won't regret it! read more

Blacksmith Bakery - Butterfly blue matcha oat milk latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Fort Langley, British Columbia

We stopped in for a tourist afternoon in Fort Langley and decided to try this bakery/coffee shop/cafe. Like the clean modern interior with home made baked goods, sandwiches, and the ability to get a beer or wine if you'd like. Latte and americano were a little on the strong side which is fine with us. The apple caramel cheesecake is great and everything else looked good while we were here. This place has 4 tables only plus a long communal table for about 15 people with a couple of patio tables where you can see the bakery in action. We're coming here again to check out their sandwiches and enjoy another coffee. read more

Came here for a quick lunch when we made the trip to Fort Langley. The selection of baked goods was very limited I think due to COVID-19 so we opted out on getting some. I wanted the butterfly blue matcha latte and my bf wanted a daily special lemonade but they ran out of both the drinks. I settled for a mocha which was pleasant as it wasn't too strong on the coffee for my bf to drink too. We got the avocado toast and the blacksmith benny. We were both disappointed that all 4 of our eggs were over poached and not runny. The avocado spread was very plain and tasted like there wasn't the standard lemon, salt, pepper, anything. Only the eggs were seasoned but still didn't make up for it. It also came with spinach and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Definitely not worth $13. The blacksmith benny ($16) was at least decent, nice hollandaise sauce, crispy potatoes. We didn't expect much from a cafe but the food was very subpar and not worth the price. I think we just caught them on a bad day. I would come back to try their baked goods and drinks when the outbreak is settled but would probably not come back for the food. read more

An exemplary bakery with a variety of sweet and savoury offerings. I'm partial to the apple crumble cheesecake, an individual sized portion of cheesecake with bits of apple and a delicious crumble on top. Atmosphere is great for a solo visit or catching up with friends over coffee. So refreshing to visit a non chain establishment with character! read more

Every time we are anywhere near Fort Langley this is a must visit. Amazing pastries, excellent coffee, friendly staff, beautiful cafe, this place has it all. I only wish it were in my neighbourhood. We had their carrot cake on our last visit. The cake was perfectly spiced and the icing was thick but not overly sweet or greasy. I think it was the best I've ever had. read more

First time driving out to Langley wanting to try their baked goods since their pictures of their pastries looked so good on line. What a huge huge disappointment. First, bakeries are not permitted to charge a GST if purchasing 6 items or more but Blacksmith Bakery charges GST despite buying more than 6 items. I had reported their dishonest practice to the government for them to investigate. I purchased some savory pastries--artichoke and tomatoe at $5.25 a piece. I do not know how the actual product can be so different than their pictures on line. There were 3 halves of cherry tomatoes, 2 thin tiny slivers of artichoke and a tiny tiny paper thin cheese in the center. This is so bad! As for the mushroom one, there were a little more filling in the center but barely any proscuitto. Again very different from their photos online. I also purchased a slice of the guiness chocolate cake for $7.25 and it was not dry. I hope the owner, Stephan, will review their store policy in charging GST for quantities of 6 or more illegally as it is dishonest for his patrons. read more

Great place for authentic pastries. Coffee is very good too. Langleyites should be considered very lucky to have a place that offers such high quality artisan baked goods. Especially the croissants! The one glaring complaint is that it can get very cramped and quite confusing at the pick up counter. One very busy day (which there are many), I witnessed two people knowingly pick up the wrong items and leave, while other's items sat there for over 20 minutes - most likely they left frustrated with the wait/confusion. That same day, my sandwich was forgotten, or probably taken by someone else. If they can get this issue fixed, it would be a place I would suggest to anyone wanting some of the best pastries, coffee and service there is to offer in Langley. read more

Oh man.....a new fav in the Fort. We stumbled across this little gem while strolling through on a quiet week day and oh what a find! All the bakery items look amazing - i had the chocolate croissant and it melted in my mouth. So fresh! All the other items on the menu sounded excellent. The coffee was great! Their coffee is from Republica Roasters that's also in the Fort! How's that for supporting your other local stores :-) It's pretty small inside but that's part of the cozy charm. They have a couple of table and chairs outside if the weather is nice. One word of warning - don't sit at the table that's right outside the kitchen! The staff will torture you with all the amazing sights and smells as they prepare all this great food. I know - I'm speaking from experience. Awesome little place - great addition to the Fort! Check it out read more

Such a cute little bakery, they make a killer cup of coffee (we had a flat white and a machiatto) and have delicious pastries. We popped in probably on the hottest day this summer and the only fault we found was that they do not have A/C but it did not stop us from drinking our hot coffee as they were that good. read more

This place USE to be an amazing spot to get food and study, however, things have clearly changed. I've gotten the same slice of cake over the years and have asked if it can be heated up " a little bit ". Now apparently they can't because the icing will melt... even though I'm aware of that hence the "little bit". It has never been an issue. You now can't connect to shawgo wifi unless your in a certain spot ( which was never the case before) and they don't have "public" wifi. Safe to say I won't be coming here again read more

If it wasn't for there amazing baked fresh goods I would never come here. The staff are a bunch of incompetent humans, who lack any kind of motivation besides what is going on in there own head. If you order anything simple, ie. A coffee and a sausage roll, not only will they place it in there toaster oven that takes entirely to long. But they will forget about it and it will burn, which in turn will start the entire process over. And don't get me started on if you want an actual meal. I have never written a review in my life, but I just honestly feel bad for the owner of such a great establishment not to have a single life form working behind that counter. Not only have they lost my wife and myself as a customer. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If you do end up here plan on your coffee taking an hour to be poured and received. read more

Good food and cute atmosphere, but having to wait nearly 40mins for a SANDWICH on a wkday afternoon is ridiculous! The only "cooking" it required was toasting the bread. Either staff your kitchen better or alert your customers of your extreme wait times when they place their order. read more

One of my favourite cafe/bakeries! I drive a half hour to get here. It's probably a good thing that I don't live in the neighbourhood. Croissants to die for. This bakery is my go to, anytime I'm in Fort Langley. I've had both savory and sweet croissants here.

Paid $10 for a 12oz iced vanilla latte and a ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was great, and the espresso is good too. I don't think the price of the coffee was worth it for such a small size but it was good nonetheless. read more

Oh my God this was so good. A friend brought a group of us five different pastries. I thought I was in heaven.

I stumbled upon this bakery when waiting for a friend for lunch. Decided to try their shortbread (I looove shortbread!). It is seriously the best whipped shortbread I've ever had. I thought I'd write a Yelp review to make sure people knew to try the shortbread but lo and behold it's the title-holder on here! To the owner of Blacksmith Bakery , today on Labor Day 2020-09 -07 at 12:00 Lunch time, I came to your bakery like I have many times in the past , for my free coffee award and to purchase two shrimp croissants with salads. Your worker took my order , took my rewards card in her bare hands ( no gloves were worn by her ) She asked what I would like in my coffee I told her please put it on the side , and she did . When it came time to pay I took cash from my purse and handed it to her like I did my rewards card for my free coffee . She pulled herself back and said "we don't take cash it's dirty ! ' Please note I did not see one sign saying " NO CASH " I laughed and said "then wash it ". She said we are taking cash at this time , another worker of yours spoke up and said" thank-you for your understanding ( sarcastically )" I said " But it is l legal tender, so your not taking my money ? Sorry we are not she said . At this point I asked for the manager . Your manager said yes we are NOT TAKING CASH ! And said I had yelled at the workers ,and I had NOT IN ANY WAY YELLED AT THEM , then your manager asked me to leave , saying " We Don't want your business please leave ". I would have never had waited 15 min, in line to be humiliated so badly especially publicly by your staff and manager , and I think that no one should ! This was handle so badly read more
