This was my second time at iFLY, and while last year was fun, this year was truly amazing…read more I was there with my son Lex, who has special needs. He's nonverbal and uses a wheelchair. I initially asked the staff whether he would qualify for a special needs or disabled flight at a future visit because I honestly didn't think there would be room or that it would be possible. They immediately reassured me that he could fly, and I figured we'd come back another time. Then something really special happened. Even though Lex doesn't attend the same school as my daughters that were there on a field trip (he goes to a different school with a special education program), the school approached me and offered us an extra spot. I said yes, not really knowing what to expect. From that moment on, the staff was incredible, kind, patient, gentle, and completely accommodating. They treated Lex with dignity and enthusiasm, not hesitation. He got to fly twice, and he absolutely loved it. When he finished, everyone clapped and cheered for him, and it was one of those moments you don't forget as a parent. I can't say enough good things about the experience. If you're a special needs family and wondering whether your child will truly be included and supported here, the answer is yes. I highly, highly recommend iFLY.

We met with an instructor as a group who went over all of the safety instructions, we changed into jumpsuits and received more instruction. We all felt safe during the experience and would certainly return to do it again. Thanks guys

They make it a really fun day. There are a few caveats to consider before you go: 1. The liability waiver is nuts. There's no insurance and you cannot sue for injury. If you do sue, you have to pay THEIR legal bills! 2. The plane is tiny, like a flying tunafish can. Room only for two jumps, their instructors and a pilot, squeezed in. 3. The views of Lake Tahoe from the plane are awesome, but since it's in Minden, you're mostly seeing mountains and valleys (still gorgeous) while falling. 4. Since Minden is at 4,700 feet, the freefall is shorter than if you did a jump starting at sea level. Also, the landing is faster because the air is thinner than at sea level. 5. The video / photo package is worth it. The photos were so/so (shot with a GoProp and they distort faces and bodies) but the video is an amazing memory!! 6. No bathroom....just a porto potty. Ladies, go before you go. Again, five stars. Just be aware of what to expect.

The pilot is very skilled and knowledgeable, and had a ton of interesting stories about his hot air balloon experiences. His wife also came along and assisted with the proposal and took a bunch of great photos of me and my fiancée which was very appreciated. It was very apparent they enjoy what they do and that helped to add to the experience. I would highly recommended this for anyone trying to come up with a unique way to propose.

I did get cancelled on a few times, I was at first annoyed, instant gratification junky, but then realized they have no control over the weather AND safety comes first. That earned my respect right there. We met at the site at 6 am, not 6:01 or 6:12, 6am or before. Temperature plays a huge role in height and duration of flight. On time and safety are expected and delivered. At 6 sharp the ride started with tip over training, safety, and a brief roll call and waiver check and explanation. Important stuff! The balloon is beautiful and the pilots wife makes sure there are plenty of pics, she's super sweet and helpful. Takeoff is a bit disorienting, part helicopter, part jump. Once you hit the sky though, it's amazing. It is such a great feeling to float. Tim has a great sense of humor and can tell a story with gusto... between bursts of fire into the balloon. I have no idea how high we were but cows were hard to make out, they were that small. The morning couldn't have been more perfect. The landing was a bit bumpy, our training came in handy. Jarring like an old truck indoors a rough road, easy. As we waited for the truck to come and get us Tim gave us a wee history lesson on ballooning, with a champagne toast. I've been smiling all day. Independent and local, experienced and a perfect way to fly. Highly recommended is an understatement.

Years ago there was a period where I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in small, private, single engine airplanes. Except for long-hauls, I always enjoyed them more that commercial jet flights - the experience is more up close and personal. Anyway, nothing compares to my biplane experience at Adventure Flight. What a bunch of fun. Andy is a skilled and personable pilot. I had signed up for aerobatics and although slightly apprehensive, I was committed to "sticking to the plan". The pilot made it easy, comfortable and excitingly memorable. We did multiple, giant loop de loops and barrel rolls along with other maneuver that I can't name. I am not a young man .... but, I can honestly say this was one of the most fun things I have done in my life .... Consequently, I plan to do it again. I highly recommend Adventure Flight. Note, Andy's fleet is not limited to the biplane.
