    Lingcod

We tried the Lingcod and the salmon entrees. The fish was perfectly cooked and each of the sauces complemented without overpowering. The sides were also nice .... perfectly cooked vegetables and fluffy rice. The service was attentive and well paced. As mentioned, the view is spectacular!

Scott our waiter was so good we went back again the next night. The food was great, expertly prepared. The wine and beer recs were spot on each time. We went to track down one of the breweries I had on the sampler plate as well. Between witty banter and dropping knowledge on the local eateries and things to do on the island, Scott really made our meals at the Black Fin special.

Ahhhhmazing!! Service was SO good! Doug was our server and bartender. Appreciate his impeccable service. Scott was AMAZING as well. So hospitable and helpful & the hostess (I think her name was Jocelyn) was lovely as well. I had the salmon with blackened salmon and dirty fries, was amazing and the service was the best I've experienced in so long!!

The Blackfin Pub from the wharf road

The Blackfin Pub is in a wonderful setting overlooking the harbor - many of the tables have good views, and the setup is nice (neither crowded nor noisy) ... a pleasant atmosphere. The food was of varied quality, some quite good, some not so good, some OK but nothing special. Good: beef tenderloin, Tantalus riesling Nothing special but fine: poke entree, cheesecake, bloody Mary, bread, French fries Poor: the calamari (way too much batter) The calamari had so much batter that essentially the flavor was fried batter - the flavor of the calamari was completely overwhelmed by the fried batter (fryer taste). And then there was the service - very pleasant, but very slow - agonizingly slow. From the time we ordered an appetizer until it arrived it took 40-minutes. The server gave us a discount (recognizing the slow kitchen), but ouch. And at over $100 for two people (including a discount for slow service), it wasn't cheap. I have to say, several locals recommended the Blackfin to us, and they like it, and go back often. Perhaps it's among the better local options, but we won't be returning.

Stopped by Blackfin for a late lunch due to the wonderful view it has and great reviews online. They had big windows facing the water, it's best if you can grab a table next to that. They have a sunken dining area and a large bar right as you come into the pub. Unfortunately the service we got that day was disappointing. We went in quite late in the afternoon and there were only 4 tables of diners with several servers in the restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips and wanted to ask for mayonnaise after my food arrived. The waitress who served us our food left the table quickly and never came back to check how we were doing. Another waitress acknowledged me and gave me a wave, but she went on taking orders from two other tables and serving them drinks and their appetizers. Bussing between the kitchen and dining room multiple times. 15 minutes later, I had finished my meal when she finally remembered to come back to me. Overall the food was solid. The batter was not too thick and had a good crunch. It wasn't overly greasy either. The fish remained moist on the inside.

I moved here in may . I've been 3 times as guests insist on taking us out and their patio is fabulous. It continues to get better. Someone always gets the canuck burger which is monstrous . The fresh ground sirloin is superb , like really good. Served on a brioche bun with everything you can think of. A really great burger. Fish n chips are made with snapper and were perfect. My daughter ordered the salmon burger which hungover both sides of the bun. She raved. Gf had blackened salmon salad all 3 times. I'm not sure if they underwent changes after the covid closure but things are really good. Not your average anything. Service was great . Seasoned waitresses who know exactly how much time to spend . Try it again you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic night out. The cocktails were delicious, blackfin and passion fruit. The Thai mussels were absolutely to die for and I couldn't get enough of them (and I don't like mussels normally). The crab chicken meal and the fish tacos were good. A bit fishy for my taste buds but I'm used to MB walleye so that's why it gets a 4. The mud pie dessert was also very tasty. The view of the bay was also absolutely incredible! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Service: 10/10! Professional, Friendly & Quick to Cater Venue: 10/10 Personally, I find this restaurant to have the nicest view in the ComoxValley. Looking over the Marina, it's a gorgeous venue that's upscale & serene. Food: 9/10 Macro Bowl - 9/10 Lots of healthy goodness with quinoa cooked in savoury MangoCurry & vegetables with a light dressing. Yorkshire Beef - 8/10 Could use a bit more beef, gravy goodness poured over mashed potatoes

Got the BC Sockeye Salmon. Was overcooked and was a tail piece. What a joke. Please don't ever come here. Food is overpriced as well.

For the most part it was very good, but fell short of a five star experience. With reservations we were seated quickly in the restaurant which was decorated for the holiday season. First thing I noticed is haw far I sunk into the seat, and I'm not a big dude. Second thing I noticed was the dirty wine glass in front of the lovely K. They took it away when it was noted with another off the table, but did not replace them. Our guests arrived and as locals they had been here on occasion and spoke highly of the place. Drinks were ordered and came out along with a bottle of wine. Still only two wine glasses, which our waiter offered to fetch, but I just gave mine to K. Should've already been dealt with. Both couples ordered the Caesar salad which we were told was big enough to share, and was. Pretty good salad, but the romaine was left large enough you had to cut it with a knife to get it anywhere close to bite sized. The entrees were good, a couple of chicken two ways, a lamb, and an eight ounce strip loin. My chicken was a little over and had no real carbohydrate on the plate. K's steak was cut right down the middle, for presentation, which she does not like as the steak cools too quickly. Overall it was good, not fantastic. I also noted the AC/ heat above our table needed a vacuum as it was very dusty, a little thing, but it's blowing air down on us. We'd give it another go, but there are things to improve upon.

Our server was young, but you could tell she knew her stuff. She kept our water glasses full along with all the other guests. The menu is pretty vast, without being too big. Plenty to choose from with a great sounding special and soup of the day. There really is something to please everyone. Our drinks were cold, and to food we ordered was great. The lovely K got the clam chowder and a starter Caesar salad. Both were very good with the starter salad being larger than most large salads we get. I had the Mediterranean falafel and the soup of the day which was split pea with ham. Both were excellent. The Stella I ordered was a full pint, not something I see every day, they are typically 500 mls. All in all we thought it was outstanding, and will most definitely be back!
