It was a painful treatment but I can see major changes, lots of Events and gifts. Overall it is okay.

Dr Blacker is amazing and so is his front office. I'm not a simple case at all. He has worked with me every step of the way taking things slow to make sure I have no reactions and pivoting if there's a concern. I've had to reschedule due to illness or reactions and I've never once felt judged or a burden. He is so caring and patient. His staff acted promptly and worked with my other drs to make sure they knew what was going on and what ingredients were a possible problem. Leanne(spelling might be wrong ) called to follow up to make sure everything was alright. I'm so happy I chose Dr Blacker. I can't believe how competitive the pricing is vs others in the area. Both my boys had orthodontic treatment at Blacker Orthodontics. Timing of orthodontic treatment is so important to get the best results. They ended of needing two phases of treatment due to narrow arches, cross bites and underbites... there is a growth timing to get a successful treatment result... many years later they still get compliments on their smiles. read more

Fantastic orthodontist for kids. I had been shopping around for both of my kids for years and this is the place we decided on. Consult was quickly scheduled --- our appointment was 4PM and we were seen right away -- the consult with Leeda was quick and easy, no nonsense -- it was so quick and easy that we got braces the same day! They made me so comfortable from the moment I walked in for my consultation to getting my Invisalign impressions (way less scary than I thought) Dr.Blacker was very thorough and answered all my questions. My siblings and I all went to Dr. Blacker when I was in high school. Unfortunately my process was more extensive than my siblings. I had to get jaw surgery and I had braces prior, during and after. He helped me get through the process. Years later I had to return, because during a cleaning at my dentist office they accidentally took off part of my top permanent retainer. I was unable to fix it back in the day and didn't think it was a big deal. However, over the years my teeth shifted and the metal that was placed in my face from the surgery was giving me headaches from my teeth shifting. I chose to go back to Dr. Blacker because he was there for me during that process so long ago and I had a great experience. I put my faith in him once again to correct the issue and we chose to do Invisalign this time around. The process with Invisalign with Dr. Blacker was easy. His dental assistants are more than qualified. They are polite, helpful and make you feel welcome and safe. Dr. Blacker is amazing at what he does and why I chose to go to him again. I trusted him in high school and I still trust him. Once again he helped me through this process and gave me a beautiful smile. This experience was by far the worst! I understand social distancing but making someone wait 45 min outside in the heat is unacceptable. And by the time we were done with the appointment we'd been here 90 minutes outside. We arrived 10 min before the appointment to sign paperwork forms for Covid and check in. We were told they'd be ready to call on us in about 10 minutes. We sat down In socially distanced chairs placed out in a hot patio and watched as EVERYONE who checked in after was taken in and seen. I asked after waiting 45 min past the appointment start and was given a laundry list of reasons....no apology, just excuses. Sad, they ended up being extremely rude to all of us afterwards. If you are running late, have forgotten about a patient, etc just use common courtesy and be respectful and communicate. Don't pack more people in than you can handle. Use the social distancing ratio in office/ chairs and space out your patients to give everyone a good experience and shorter wait. No one will have the patience to pay for horrible experiences and rudeness. This really was not their finest display of being called a 5 star Orthodonist. In this his new season of things changing you need to be an office that acts with compassion and kindness if you want to have any patients long term. The display today has no excuses. read more

I went for a consultation yesterday for my son and I. This was our 4th ortho consultation and the lady who goes over the finances seemed very frustrated with me for asking questions. I have heard something different at every office, so of course I have a few questions. In the beginning I asked if we were going to meet Dr. Blacker and she said yes, but he never came in or met us. At one point she walked out and asked him a question about my case and she came back. She bashed other orthodontists and what they said they were going to do. I was told that I need to find a board certified orthodontist and that he was the best. She showed us pictures of her niece after treatment with him and pictures before when she was treated by her sister. He has great reviews and I'm sure does amazing work, BUT having to sit through that consultation was absolutely brutal and he is the only orthodontist who did not come in and speak to us personally. I'd actually like to meet the dr who is doing treatment and NOT just the finance lady. read more

We have returned to this wonderful Doctor's office to have to have oral treatment for my other daughter. We had three different Dr. consultations and Dr. Blacker came across as the most seasoned/confident out of the three, my husband noted. Awesome and highly recommended!! The staff @ Dr. Blacker's office is friendly and accommodating. I love how the kids are responsible for checking themselves in for their appointments and the reward tokens they are given for taking care of their braces/teeth. Accountability. My daughter Morgan had her braces put on at the beginning of 2017, she was told they would be on for 18 months and she had them removed 11/27/18 (right @ 18 months). Her teeth are perfectly straight. She enjoyed being a patient at Dr. Blacker's office so much that she said that she never wanted her braces to come off!! However, that changed after she saw how beautiful her teeth are. Last year around the holidays, my daughter ran out of bands for her mouth on a Saturday and the Chandler Office was closed and both Chandler and Tempe offices were going to be closed for the holidays after that day. One of the staff members from the Tempe office who happened to live in our general area met us at a local grocery store with more bands so that my daughter's teeth would not be lacking what was needed to keep her on track. The staff at Blacker Orthodontics are amazing. They are friendly, kind, helpful and patient. My son has been going here since June I have actually talked to Dr. Blacker once (at the time of sale). This morning my son went in for his check up while the Ortho Medical Assistant was getting Ethan ready Dr. Blacker walked up and said something to the assistant -- but no "hello to me or my son." Just seemed odd. Small area, we were a few feet away -- would have taken 5 seconds to say good morning. I don't know if he is aloof or arrogant. The reader can take this review for what it is which my perception of interaction with the Dr. In retrospect I wish I would have looked at other orthodontists especially since I knew his prices were higher than others. He came so highly recommended however.... maybe the staff is the reason for the high recommendation because they really are stellar. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars! This is one of the best experiences I've ever had with a medical professional of any type. Dr. Blacker is an amazing orthodontist, and both he and his staff are the nicest people ever. I'm over 50, have multiple implants, crowns, bridges, and fillings -- that didn't phase this office one bit. Dr. Blacker worked closely with my dentist and they even coordinated multiple appointments in a single day when necessary. I had a new implant post placed at a time when their office is usually closed, but Leigh Ann made herself readily available to put my wires back on as soon as I left the oral surgeon's office. My goal was never to have straight teeth, it was simply to avoid dentures down the road. I got both beautifully straight teeth and the confidence that they will now last the rest of my life. What a fantastic orthodontic office! EVERYONE in the office is a true pleasure to speak with and so knowledgeable. They make sure you are powered with knowledge too which is awesome. My son just got an expander placed yesterday and it requires adjustment daily for 30 days. Not only did they walk me through it step-by-step in the office but they also sent me an instructional video via text so that I could see what was happening and how-to at a close up range. This was great for when I actually had to do it myself at home and needed a reference. I come from a family who is genetically predisposed to "Sommer Teeth." Meaning some a growing this way and some are growing that way. It's not pretty and for those who make it to adulthood without orthodontia it's straight up ugly. I began to notice my middle child had inherited this dreaded disease. He was the only kid in the 2nd grade who had only lost 3 teeth and by 3rd grade it was up to a whopping 4. The adult teeth he did have were to large buck teeth that looked like his parents might have been beavers. I took him in for the free consultant and per the X-rays there was no room for his adult teeth to come down. When I was in 3rd grade I had 7 teeth pulled: 4 adult molars and 3 baby teeth because my jaw was just like my sons and lacked the space for adult teeth. Great news! They didn't have to pull teeth! If you go soon enough(prior to puberty) they can use an expander to make the jaw wider and allow room for teeth! The office is kid/teen friendly. It doesn't smell like my childhood orthodontics office (a mixture of plastic,laughing gas, and children's tears) Dr Blackers is Fun and a happy place for kids to go.
