Driving through PA we were lucky to stop by this amazing place! Food was awesome as well as the coffee, we tried the salmon, grilled cheese, and the chicken sandwiches.. they were all to die for. In addition, the strawberry white mocha was the best! Decor and ambiance excellent as well as service. 5 stars plus! read more

We came to visit this shop. When we walked in we were met with a frazzled owner throwing menus at us. He walked back to his open kitchen where I then listened to him berate an 18 year old employee. Loudly to where everyone in the shop could hear him. When I expressed my uncomfortability and unease with his method of bullying the boy publicly I was told I was the disruption and I was wrong because that's his stepson and he's a drill sergeant so it's ok to talk to his staff how he wants. I used a calm and gentle tone when communicating with the owner and was met with contempt and disregard for my concern. The shop itself was BEAUTIFUL and the food looked impeccable. But there is a time and place to reprimand people. Loudly and publicly is not it. I would have loved to spend the money there because I believe it would have been worth it. But the disregard for the mental wellness of the staff, stepson or not, was far too disappointing for me to be able to participate. The two stars go strictly for the look of the shop and the young man controlling any feelings he may have been having and continuing his work despite the negative environment. I hope the owner/ FATHER does better next time creating a healthy work space! read more

The Black Valley Provender has become one of our local favorites. We recently returned, 1/8/23, for lunch with our daughter. I had the Brisket Mac and Cheese. It was absolutely awesome. My wife had the Provender Reuben which was also very good. We were back again on 1/21/23 for lunch with my mom. We had the Chicken Salad Toast and the Provender Reuben...again. Great! I had the Shepherds Pie. It was the best I have ever eaten. Just know it is a smaller portion if you are very hungry. Also, please note that they have cut their evening hours and no longer offer dinners. I can't say enough about how much we enjoy the Black Valley Provender and the friendly owners and staff. read more

Why stop at a chain coffee house when you can take a few extra minutes to enjoy this wonderful, locally owned cafe? Delicious, VERY filling "English breakfast" (with local sausage, ham and bacon!) and softest, lightest buckwheat pancakes. A sweet cafe with wonderful ambiance. The owner has done a nice job of making the place cozy including local art work on the walls. Very friendly staff. The only draw back for me is there are little to no vegetarian options to choose from. Otherwise, we would be regulars. The Provender is an asset to the town! read more

What a wonderful stop on our travels. We stopped for breakfast and everything was delicious. Great coffee. I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin and it was perfectly cooked. This is such a great place! I have stopped in twice in the last few months and it has been outstanding both times. Today I had the chicken salad on sour dough - so so good. They sell a lot of different things from local honey to pickled eggs and the desserts are very good. Definitely worth the stop if you are passing through Everett PA - I will return for sure! read more
