The technician recommended that I get the dryer vent cleaned next, which I delayed on due to other things that were needed. Last week I finally got around to scheduling the dryer vent cleaning, which was today. I was incredibly surprised when Allen showed up and after locating the vent outside, told me I didn't need it cleaned due to the short distance of the vent to the outside. How refreshing to deal with a company with such integrity. That's what I call living up to their name! Regarding the fireplace cleaning they previously did, their workmanship was great. The technician (Troy) cleaned up well when he finished and their prices are the best I found. I highly recommend them!

Our fireplace has an old insert, so our quote was $200. They gave me their cell number in their Yelp response and I texted back and booked my appointment for that same Thursday in a 12-4 window. They do offer Saturday appointments for an extra $25 to cover their technician's overtime who normally work M-F 40 hours per week, which I think is a pretty good option if I couldn't have taken time off during the week. That Thursday, I got a call from the technician saying he was on his way. Fifteen minutes later, he showed up at 2:30 and was very polite and neat. He was also friendly and accommodating to my dog who thought the technician was her new best friend. Around 45 minutes later, our fireplace and chimney were clean and he gave me the 411 on my fireplace, chimney and insert. I owed $200 as quoted and they accept checks, cash or credit cards. No Venmo or paypal. According to the inspection, my chimney was in decent shape but it was missing a few things. He also warned me that our insert was missing some key safety components and could be a fire hazard and why. This was important information we never knew about which gave us good food for thought. Now knowing the concerns, we may never use the insert again or have it removed completely so we can use our fireplace safely. The technician gave us quotes for some of the items he recommended that we need to get our chimney in good shape: 8x17 chimney cap - $95 Crown Repair - $140 Installing a clean out door - $150 Regarding our insert which had bigger problems: repairing door gasket and hinge pin (wouldn't completely solve the safety issues) - $150 Remove and take away insert - $200 This was an easy transaction with good work completed. Quick to schedule, available quickly, showed on time, gave me a report and quotes. Then all done in 45 minutes. Definitely recommended

They had a fair price and when I was ready to schedule with them, they booked me for the next day! I was so happy about this because other businesses I was considering were booking a month out. They gave me a 12pm-3pm window and the tech arrived a little after 12 so it was nice nit having to wait so long. He was very nice and explained everything as he was inspecting and allowed me to ask any questions. Turns out my fireplace is in great shape, was rarely used by the previous owner, and is easy to clean myself. So rather than pushing me to have him clean it, he simply charged the inspection fee. This alone has earned my respect and trust because he was being honest and not just trying to upsell. It was a quick and pleasant appointment and I will definitely hire them again :)

We checked and found out it meant the exhaust duct had 80% blockage. I called on a Sunday afternoon and requested emergency tech service. ACD was able to accommodate us after checking with the tech. Leo did an awesome job despite the 100+ degree heat. He had to go Up on the roof. He even wore a mask and booties, while inside the house, to respect Covid protocols since we had a toddler and immunocompromised people at home. I would definitely recommend them. The final charge was close to the quote given by Yana, their dispatcher.

The house is 100 years old and the prior occupant hadn't cleaned the chimney in a long time. Joe was able to come out very shortly after I called, and when he came out he was able to diagnosis a few fairly significant issues that needed to be addressed. He then put together a very competitive estimate on the spot. Joe and one of his guys came out the next week and took care of everything. They were very efficient, tidy, and communicative, and the work product is excellent. There were some hiccups throughout the day that were not Joe's fault, and he just rolled with them, found solutions, and executed with barely any delay. And as I wrote in my last review, he is an incredibly nice and friendly guy. He's also very honest, straightforward, and open. I completely trust him and highly recommend him to anybody needing chimney and fireplace work.

We hired Harlan Quality Roofing, Inc for a roof replacement that included chimney saddle and step…read moreflashing work. Shortly after completion, we experienced a significant leak near the chimney during a controlled water test. We repeatedly asked for photo/video documentation of the original water testing and requested a controlled retest after additional sealant was applied to the flashing and chimney areas. This was never provided. Because sealant was added after the initial test, it became impossible to determine how the flashing system performed in its original installed condition. Despite our requests for a documented and isolated testing process, the issue was attributed solely to stucco and chase cap conditions without verification of the flashing work included in our contract. Communication became increasingly dismissive when we asked reasonable, technical questions about how the leak source was isolated and verified, and the matter was pushed toward final inspection without the testing we requested. We also had concerns about billing transparency during dry rot repairs. We had to repeatedly request documentation showing where repairs were made, how many hours were spent on new work versus items already included in the original contract, and how labor time was calculated (including delivery and travel time billed at the same rate as on-site repair work). The initial invoices and explanations were vague, and only after multiple follow-ups did we receive partial clarification and a small credit for duplicated labor hours. While the company was responsive in replying to emails, we were left to identify gaps in documentation, testing, and billing ourselves rather than being provided clear, proactive transparency. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend that future customers insist on detailed documentation, clear labor breakdowns, and controlled verification testing when leak diagnosis or change-order billing is involved.

I didn't realize there was a lot of junk in the chimney that needs clean up periodically, they did a wonderful job in cleaning it up and making sure there was no debris left after the work has been completed. I asked him how much it would cost to repair everything. He quoted me $1400.00. He said he doesn't set the prices. I told him i couldn't afford it so he dropped the price to $1000.00. I said fine. He said he wanted cash so I went to the bank. When i returned he was getting ready to leave when i asked about the fireplace cleanout which was full of ash. He told me it would take time to clean it, then finally said it didn't need to be cleaned...It was full of ash and soot. He smeared regular morter all over my red brick chimney with his fingers (see pics)and did the same in the fireplace. The mortar he put in the chimney has already cracked and fallen out and I can literally rub the mortar off the chimney with my hand in most places. I have been trying to get a manager to come out to look for two weeks with no response. I will be filing a claim with the Contra Costa Superior Court Monday morning. I strongly suggest staying away from these guys...
