Great restaurant, taste is very authentic and the price is extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get! It wasn't too busy when we got there which was nice in that we got quick service!

We tried a bunch of different appetizers for dinner. The gobi lasuni was great and very spicy, while the miso malai chicken tikka was milder than we had hoped. The receipt showed it was "mild" but our server didn't ask what spice we wanted when we ordered. A medium level would have been perfect for it! Nice, upscale decor and a servers were prompt and friendly. More relaxed than it may appear at first! The only complaint I had was the prices for whiskey were crazy high! $22 for a single pour of Eagle rare? Didn't even ask about the Blantons that I saw on the shelf, Other than that, a great dinner date place!

I've been to Black Salt Chesterfield location a several times, and I really liked the food there. However, my recent experience at the new location in Creve Coeur wasn't as good as I would like. It looked like they have a different menu than the other location. There was no biriyani dish that I liked. -Food wise: Our Masala chai and mango lassi were great. Garlic naan was amazing - the best! We ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan to share between two of us. Both sauce was delicious. However, I had to send the tikka masala back to the kitchen to cook again ...because the chicken was still raw inside. -Service was friendly but kinda slow... We had to wait quite a while for our orders. -In term of location and ambiance, I liked here more - plenty of parking spots, much bigger space, relaxing vibe, nice music etc.

This was our second visit to Black Salt. Decor is like you are entering a fine dining establishment. Service is outstanding. The gohbi lasuni is one of the best bites I've had.

Today I stopped by Black Salt, specifically the Creve Coeur location. This is Black Salt's second location, with the first being in Chesterfield. The ambiance inside is modern and intimate. Every party starts with an amuse-bouche, consisting of seasoned crispy crackers and a flavorful, fragrant dipping sauce. I always enjoy an amuse-bouche, and this one was no different. For my entree, I ordered a classic -- butter chicken with rice and a side of naan. The food took a bit longer to arrive--about 25 minutes--but it was worth the wait. The curry was rich and packed with flavor, and the dish included 5 whole chicken thighs. I asked for medium spice, which I found to be a perfect spice level for someone who enjoys a bit of a kick. The naan was brushed with fresh, minced garlic and butter, topped with black sesame seeds -- delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the food, although I cannot speak to the authenticity of the dish. The service was wonderful. My waitress was kind and attentive, and it was clear each staff member was working diligently to attend to all customers. My only suggestion for Black Salt is to lean more into celebrating Indian culture through the decor and music. I would have loved to hear Indian music playing, rather than American, to fully complement the dining experience. That said, I also recognize the common pressure on global cuisine restaurants to adapt or Americanize certain elements in order to appeal to a broader audience. Overall, I loved this spot! One of my top Indian restaurants in St. Louis at the moment.

Stopped in for lunch around noon on a work day after hearing good things about the Chesterfield location. The inside has clearly been freshly renovated and is very inviting with mellow music that allows for good conversation. My coworker and I were a little bummed that this location doesn't have the lunch "sampler"-type platter that the Chesterfield location has so that we could try multiple dishes, but we wound up getting the chicken Andhra and chicken tikka masala lunch specials and added on a couple of butter naan (a must!). The salad & samosas were a perfect little starter to tide us over until our mains came mouth. We both loved our entrees and were impressed with the portion size - definitely enough to take some home for leftovers.

Yum yum yum! I've been meaning to visit Black Salt for a long time and I'm glad I finally got to go! To be honest, I was expecting a bit of a larger and fancier restaurant vibe, but either way it was still very good! The Lahori chicken was amazing, great spice level. The garlic naan was fresh and delicious. The chicken 65 was very spicy so watch out! Service was decent, I had to ask for water refills a few times (they weren't busy during lunch time), but that was no big deal. Still a great experience and the food was great, can't wait to try more!

My mom and I recently went to the Olive Blvd BlackSalt and wow what an experience. I took pictures of everything because the plating was beautiful. Some of the stand out dishes for me were the Tteok-Boki, the Parm Kale salad, and the Vindaloo Pork Ribs. The tteok-boki was the best I've ever had , and I will go back for it again. The vindaloo had such flavor , and the pork ribs were beyond tender. Really amazing. The Chicken Kabab appetizer was actually amazing too, I can't leave that one out. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The vibe of the restaurant was definitley fun and inviting. We also had two desserts. Both were VERY good. The Chocolate Yogurt Brûlée was heavenly. Chocolaty but light at the same time. I didn't get a picture of that one because I was halfway through eating it before I remembered. There are so many more items I wanna try from the menu so we will definitley be going back.

This is an amazing Indian Restaurant. The staff were extremely courteous and accommodating, and the food was exceptional. I ordered the Lamb Chops and Butter Chicken, both entrees were cooked to perfection; both dishes had rich and bold flavors. If you enjoy Indian Food or would like to try Indian Food, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Solid showing from Black Salt's second location. My first time trying chaat and it so flavorful and interesting. A ton of different ingredients that almost feel random, but somehow work. The highlight of the meal for me. The tikka masala was good but nothing special. While there are some menu differences between this spot and their Chesterfield location (no biryani here), the two are pretty neck-and-neck in taste and quality. Favorite dishes: Samosa chaat

Don't let the strip mall vibe fool you, Black salt is fine dining quality Indian dishes. Everything we got was delicious and came out plated like we were watching a tv cooking competition. It's almost like a master chef snuck into a chain restaurant and changed the whole menu. Gives the place a nice hidden gem feel.

I am a huge fan of Black Salt in Chesterfield so I've been excited to try this second location. I got the lunch special of Tikki Masala paneer and it was perfection! Full of flavor and perfectly spiced. Service was impeccable! The only thing that concerned me was that the dining room wasn't more full so check it out and bring a friend! Lunch specials are a great deal but the variety remains with the full size entrees. I would be remiss not to strongly recommend the old fashioned.

You eat with your eyes first! Wow. What a way to present Indian food. Also, chefs kiss to the Indian cosmo. I wish I could live inside the garlic Naan.

While browsing reviews, we came across a hidden gem in St. Ann called Maaji's Street Kitchen that had surprisingly high ratings. I couldn't believe how well-reviewed it was, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Monday and were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. We made our way to the counter to place our order, and the staff member was very helpful once we mentioned it was our first time. He walked us through the menu and even pointed out different dishes and combo options on their digital signage display menu, which made ordering much easier. We placed our order to go and waited inside. It's a small space, but it's decorated with unique art and has a really unique vibe. There was a hypnotic Indian song playing in the background, which added to the atmosphere. We sat at a table that had a game on it--I believe it was called Carrom, a tabletop game where you flick checker-sized discs into corner pockets, similar to a mini pool table. A woman who I assume was the owner or manager came out from the back and greeted us. While we waited, she showed us how to play the game. As we were playing, she came back and even offered us samples of the food we had ordered. I was honestly impressed by the level of hospitality--it's not something you experience very often. The sample alone was some of the best Indian food I've had. The spices were perfectly balanced for my taste, and it made me even more excited to get home and dig into our full meal. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Curry Bowl, and I went with Combination #2 (Shredded Chicken Curry, Steamed Rice, and Parantha), along with a side salad. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I can't remember the last time we were treated this well at a restaurant, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.

Walking in the hostess was kind and cheerful. My waitress came over soon after and was pleasant. Not over the top friendly, but helped me with my order. She never came back. My food was delivered by a young man who seemed like he was having a bad day. He walked over put my plate down, turned around and walked away. I was trying to ask him for salt and pepper, but missed him. Shortly afterwards, an older gentleman who may have been the owner or manager, came over to check on me. The ambience was decent. The lighting was good. The restaurant was clean. The food was also reasonably priced. (I went to another Indian restaurant a few few weeks later and then naan (bread) was $6, which at that location was nearly half the price of my meal! ) The food appeared to be a meager portion, but that was just based on the presentation. It was actually a substantial amount; I only was able to eat half (A lot of restaurants work to make their items look bigger than they are in this one it was the opposite). As I was finishing up, I called over the manager, had him bring me a box in the check. He did that took my payment and thanked me for coming by. I would definitely go back to house of India. The service wasn't over the top as I like to have a server do more than just take my order, but they did have a system, my food was hot and tasty, I was served quickly, and I left pleased and ready to begin my 18 hour fast.
