Nothing fancy here, but the food is fresh, ample and very good. Be careful about your heat meter and ask about the hot spices of your dish. Vegan friendly.

I needed something spicy. Ok Gol Bowl on Delmar, let's see what you got. There's also one in Maplewood if you're in that area too. I went full takeout mode and ordered like I was feeding a small country. The paneer is just superior. That's all I can say. That perfect chewy-silky taste. Every dish brought all the flavor and a kick of heat. Indian food always gets the raves at my house. Such a treat. Easy and quick pickup and service from a cute little spot on Delmar.

Pleasantly surprised by this little Indian spot near the CVS on Delmar! The prices are honestly unbeatable. Everything was really cheap compared to other places and everything we ordered was really good. You order at the front and pick up your food when it's ready. You sit wherever you want. I think the owner is who we talked to and he was really nice. Gave us some free dessert as well. Only street parking available out front.

Sam and Groucho dining in.

A Culinary Spell at Gol Bowl Gol Bowl isn't just a restaurant -- it's a portal. One step inside and the aromas alone begin casting a spell: toasted cumin, earthy turmeric, and the unmistakable warmth of garam masala. The atmosphere is intimate but alive, like the heart of a festival caught in a quiet moment. Each dish feels like it was summoned rather than cooked. The butter chicken? A velvet ritual in every bite. The paneer tikka? Smoky, spiced perfection -- as if the grill whispered secrets from Delhi. Their naan is a revelation: blistered, buttery, and blessed with just the right chew. The staff doesn't serve you -- they guide you, like culinary sages helping you navigate a map of spices and stories. Ask them anything. They love this food, and it shows. Gol Bowl isn't flashy. It's sacred. Every bite feels handcrafted by someone who understands that food isn't fuel -- it's memory, comfort, celebration. If you want Indian food that speaks to your soul, go to Gol Bowl. Just be warned: after this, nothing else will compare.

I recently discovered garlic naan and butter chicken. Ok, I know I'm late. But I'm here now. With…read morethis discovery, I found I don't have to have the chicken or the rice. I will dip garlic naan into the sauce all day long!!! Gil Bowl is good for this. Do you see all of the sauce they gave me? I ate my sauce and naan then ordered more naan to go. The lady at the counter told me the garlic naan isn't a true naan. However it was light and flaky and delicious so I don't care what it was. I was able to reheat it the next day and dip some more. I thought about going back to get another order of the naan because I still had sauce left. My chiweenie was excited because I rinsed the chicken and gave him a couple pieces. The only thing I would complain about because there really aren't any real complaints, the music is kinda loud. For a minute while dining in I was there alone. I went after lunch. It would have been nice to have a quiet spot. The food was good and I would definitely go back.

A bit surprising that naan bread is not on the menu. The parking however, was a nightmare. There is no private parking, so you can only park on the street. And not sure if it's our luck, the close spots were all taken. We ended up parked at a grocery store and walked over. The string lights were cute.

There was something so nostalgic walking up and opening the door; it definitely was bc of the…read morebuilding and the brick, or maybe the grand study area, or the shelves of books upon books... or maybe the handwritten menu sign. But the nostalgia was so charming and brought me back to a place in Queens, NY in the early 2000s and a coffee shop that I used to visit during high school. Anywhooo - the vibes were fun and I got my order in right away. This is space does not rush, so do not feel like you have to go-go-go here. Just order your coffee and hang back bc when I got my coffee (The Tragedy) and my husband's (The Protagonist), that flavor was perfect. I wish I lived closer because I would love to be here daily writing and reading like I used to. HIGHLY recommend!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the baristas. I received a compliment on the shirt I was wearing and then we placed our order. The layout of the space reminds me of an online library - rows of books, couches, board games, etc. they even had a kids library area which was so cute! Their menu offers more than just coffee too, which was awesome! They also have specialty lattes available. Kylie made herself at home and got tons of attention from all the sweet customers.
