    Pizza with thick delicious crust

We came here on St. Patrick's Fay for dinner. Walking in I thought no way would we get seated but to my surprise, they said they could seat us shortly. The place was packed, green beer flowing, Irish dancing and a bagpipe player! It was such a fun and lively atmosphere! The staff was excellent attending to everyone amongst the busy atmosphere waters and drinks were received quickly! We ordered a few appetizers, calamari, which was fine and Bavarian pretzels which were excellent!!! For dinner I ordered a Greek chicken and rice bowl. They were very accommodating in cooking my chicken with my beef/pork allergy. It was good, but not enough rice I thought. A few in our party purchased burgers, excellent, pizza, very good, and some boneless wings. Everyone enjoyed their food. We left feeling festive and full!

Stopped here totally by chance because where we wanted to go changed their policy on the items we wanted to try. My husband ordered the sauerbraten platter and I ordered the pierogi bratwurst appetizer. Both were fantastic! We were lucky enough to sit outside on a beautiful day , and there were bees and bugs galore. We are in our home, not the other way around! My only removal of a star had to do with the server of another table using the bus table to set down plates and the smell of mulch / bees in our food. Would definitely come back again all things considered!

It was a gorgeous day to sit outside on the large deck and enjoy live music by Dante Max. Even though it was super busy, the wait staff was attentive and accommodating. https://www.instagram.com/dantemaxmusic?igsh=MTE4YW9sdzRwc2k5MQ== I ordered the fall special burger w/ grilled onions, bacon, cheese and thin apple slices. It was served w/ homemade chips. Hubby ordered the gumbo then got the sirloin burger and onion rings. My daughter got the grilled chicken / honey mustard wrap. She opted for fries and instead of the salad and we all shared our sides. We were to full to order desert, but will go back and sit outside to enjoy it all again.

I've been living in this area for 5 years now finally got to try this restaurant on Sunday and I was a bit disappointed by the service and food quality. We came in around 730ish and we had asked our waitress if there was a menu for the smoked meats since this was advertised on one of the signs, she had no idea what we were talking about. My husband ordered the steak off the Cinco de Mayo menu and it was supposed to come with Spanish rice. He got a heaping mountain of mashed potatoes and asparagus that tasted like it was 3 days old. The chimmichurri also had this weird grayish color. The food did not taste fresh at all. We told our waitress and she couldn't care less. The other person in our party ordered the pizza which he said was good just the dough could've been cooked more. I ordered the street corn off the small plates menu and it was good.

Came with a group friends 8 people and we were seated immediately. This place is large with in and outdoor seating. Very all-American type bar and restaurant style. Our server Alfredo was awesome event though he seemed very busy. He got all of our orders right and he was nice. It got crowded so he was all over the place towards the end, but still good service. The pork chop and steak with the blue cheese crumble was excellent. No complaints about the ribs either. The desserts were also good and a great take home treat. Overall a good time was had.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a family dinner, and the place was pretty busy as they were having a wedding! It was a very nice place right next to the river, but it did smell from time to time which wasn't great. We got their salad pizza and the nachos for appetizers. The pizza was okay, it would've been better if they had drizzled some olive oil or maybe balsamic over it. The nachos weren't really good, the chips weren't crunchy and the cheese was hard. For drinks I ordered a cosmo which was average, and my boyfriend ordered a strawberry refresher which unfortunately tasted like a white claw that had been left out in the heat. I got their Asian Rice Bowl - the shrimp was good, the vegetables weren't very savory and tasted overall bland, the brown rice was overcooked and reminded me of the ShopRite instant brown rice, which is not what you want to get at a restaurant. My boyfriend ordered a burger which was a pretty mid-rate dinner-like burger so not great. Overall, everything was very overpriced for the quality of the food.

This review is for takeout orders only. We've ordered from Black River Barn multiple times. The burgers are excellent. Ordered the Cajun chicken Alfredo and seafood jambalaya this time. The food was flavorful as always. Both dishes were beautifully seasoned but could've used a bit more of a kick. The restaurant has a large parking which is always packed. One of these days, we'll have to do a sit-down dinner at Black River Barn.

We enjoy going here during football season as it's very lively in the bar & the have good football specials. Other times we come we either sit in the bar out outside. Recently we sat outside & our waitress Laura was wonderful. We enjoyed our food - clams, meatball app, & cheeseburger. The wings are also a favorite of mine & we enjoy the pizza as well. They are very accommodating & will make changes to your meal no problem. Owner is always present & works very hard doing whatever is needed to ensure everyone is satisfied- definitely recommend!

I booked my son's wedding rehearsal lunch with 29 guests. When we arrived I said the Reed party and was shown to the back room that was not our party. I came back to the host stand where I find out later was the general manager. He said that's your area over there not asking if I need anything at all or if this is all good. We all are swamped into a session that clearly was was too small to accommodate a party of this size. However if the manager was paying attention at all or the server. They would have tried to add a table on instead of some gift table set up that again if asked should know noone needs that . Because it's a wedding rehearsal lunch. Hence no gift table needed. As we squeeze into our seats that literally were back to back and smashing against the wall , the I guess server who never introduced his self . I thought he was just doing the waters. He brought out 1 on each table of 9/10 people a small plate of wet mozzarella and a larger salad but on one side of the table only and definitely not enough of that many guests. Then we were brought out a pizza thing that is the size that 2 people would have as an appetizer. We grew people were expected to somehow share then that was in for like 20 minutes . So everyone had bird sized portions that they were nervous to eat too much. So me the host mother of the groom completely embarrassed. I walk to the host stand to explain , not knowing at this point my so who manages for years knowing this is unacceptable. Spoke to the GM and said this is crazy we need food on each side of the table . I also said we have literally no food some guests choose not to grab anyfood so there wife's can have it. I brought this information mode you I can see the manager for my seat. So you should know and care about your guests and check on your party and introduce yourself to us . I was told by his after mentioning we have no food . That ready for it??? We should have asked for more!!! Um what? No you should bring out enough for all the party. Finally a waitress named Kyrsten . Saw the Chaos that was happening and she literally stepped up and turned the entire experience around. Not the "GM" the waitress who was not ours. However made us here number 1 priority. Because of here and only her , she made us feel like no longer had to worry or serve my guests and I was able to enjoy the experience with my family. Literally at point did he come into the room and try to make sure my guests were ok or apologize to them. This did not have to happen if in first place he acknowledged our party, and our guests. The food was very good and Kyrsten was hands down the best part of this experience. This is a day that I can't redo . It's my first borns wedding rehearsal. We were ignoring and that's not how you treat guests.

I love this little tavern. I got put on to it by a friend once and I came back to try it again and I am glad that I did because the food is banging. The bartenders are cool AF and the clientele play good music through the TouchTunes jukebox. My new favorite bar in Morris County, New Jersey.

This restaurant had no wait when we came on a Friday night. The menu had plenty to choose from, and I opted for the Asian Stir Fry Bowl. The meal came out within 10 minutes and it was very good. Our waitress is very friendly and they were plenty of options for my four-year-old daughter. Great place!

Update: the beef craving appears to be related to perimenopause as all my mid-40s girlfriends have it too. I'm putting my ovaries on FB marketplace. Sick of it!! We used to go to "Fudds" as my dad (god rest his soul) called it at least once a week since I was in like 7th grade. Who remembers the Rt 1 location in Edison, followed by Bridgewater?? My "little" brother who is now 38 would be so hype to get the little dessert token with his kids meal. The whole experience is just so nostalgic for me - not to mention DELICIOUS!! But then they kinda all closed around here. There was one by my old spot in Silver Spring MD but that closed too. Interestingly, I saw one while I was in Dubai lmaaaooo but around NJ it's Parsippany (which wasn't that great) or as I discovered this week, this one. Yo, I smelled it before I even saw it. I had a friend doing her PHd on memory and smell and honestly she shoulda just made Fudds her fieldsite. As soon as I turned the corner of the strip mall I was like wait. Can it be?? And then boom - the sign. I texted my brother and said "I've got something that's gonna blow you mind." To his credit he thought I had discovered a secret Culver's lmao. This was somehow better. His response, "you gotta go in." AND DID! Placed my order for a 1/2lb mushroom burger on the website and went in 20 minutes later. It was everything I remembered. Pillow, buttery bun. Seasoned meat cooked to perfection. And that Fixins and condiment bar!! Just like old times. Low key was having a challenging day up until that point feeling overwhelmed by the reality of racism. ***2 1/2 stars***…read more It's rare that I have a mediocre experience where I actually want to go back to the place to give it another shot. I came here yesterday for a post-Odyssey meal with my top-tier chum from the Kingdom of Sussex around 3:30pm. We found this place by playing one of my favorite games, Yelp Roulette, where you scroll through the nearby activity feed and just pick a place that shows up on there. You can really get burned doing that, or find an interesting spot you wouldn't have otherwise stumbled upon. This one was a little column A, a little column B. The overall space is what Norte 175 really has going for it - it's a really cool building, and they've done some edgy interior decorating. It's super spacious and definitely a place I could see myself coming back for drinks in the future. My chum got a margarita but I'm in training so had to forego - arguably, maybe that was the issue; comparing notes, the drink was probably the best item either of us had, and I didn't get it. And it IS a tequila bar. I did get a diet soda, which had solid carbonation, so there's that at least. Neither of us were insanely hungry (we had a bit of fuel before our three-hour movie screening) so we split three apps - the guac, the chicken quesadilla and the grilled octopus. None of them were particularly noteworthy. Palate preference, but the guac had way too much stuff in it for me; I like a smooth, avocado-forward guac, not obscenely chunky with tons of onions guac. The octopus was not the best - texture is really important with that dish, and this one was way too chewy. The accompanying sauce didn't do enough to negate that for me. And the quesadilla was just okay; a bit bland and could probably use some kind of aioli sauce in it, or perhaps more seasoning overall with the chicken. It was fine and the best of the three, which sadly isn't saying much. We also got the raspberry lemon mousse cake (well, pretty much I did - my chum had literally one bite to be polite). As you can see from the attached, it doesn't look like anything like its stock photo on the menu, which is worth noting - still looks fine but given how different it looks in person, arguably false advertising on some level. If you're thinking about getting it, I'd rely on customer photos versus the menu if the optics are important to you. Tasty but a little too sweet - they doubled down, essentially, on the tartness, which made it a bit overwhelming, but I could easily see a lot of people being into this. The service was just okay. Our waitress did stop by occasionally but just didn't seem to be in a great mood. It honestly felt like a bit of an imposition to ask her for anything. Obviously could have just been having a bad day, but when your primary responsibility is hospitality dot dot dot. She wasn't mean by any stretch but I just wouldn't categorize her as pleasant. Is what it is. This place could really benefit from its location, literally five minutes from the Rockaway Mall - and this isn't an area with an enormous amount of options beyond the chains, so they have a legit opportunity to cash in if they can improve the food options. We'll see what happens in the future with round two.
