What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. Derek at rj&g was super helpful with this explaining things, dealing with insurance requests and delays, issues, managing costs and keeping the process moving.. They also found a few problems along the way that the car had due to a previous "repair" job Which they fixed basically for free. And I have had another very minor accident since then and went back to RJ&g without thinking about it. and that experience was just as good. definitely worth going out and checking out these guys. Later that evening, they called with a repair estimate of $2,156 to replace the radiator fan, thermostat, and tires, plus $309 just to refill the antifreeze. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.
