We came on an off-night, walking into some type of musical bingo. A good surprise! The restaurant was a short walk from our condo and is beautifully decorated. I have the Margarita pizza, and my picky NY taste buds highly approved. The crust was nicely charred but a a little soggy. The basil was appropriately the star of the show. The sugar daddy's fish sandwich was superb. Coleslaw was decent but Mac and Cheese unfortunately had some processed cheese notes. A white cheddar would have been delicious! Came in to grab some small plates to share with my sisters. The waiter was slammed and therefore he wasn't as attentive as he could have been. Although it took a while for him to take our order the kitchen staff worked quickly. We ordered the seafood dip, pretzel, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were AMAZING we should have doubled the order, the pretzel was good too, but the seafood dip was a little too fishy. The interior was clean and appealing. This was the best selection I had. Plentiful toppings. Very tasty. Would get again even though the salmon was dry. Burger. Pretty good. Good quality Brisket and wings. A bit dry and the sauces for the wings weren't great. Wouldn't try again. Drinks were really good. Great flavors and they don't skimp on the pour. Surprisingly, the passed apps and items for a dinner party we attended were great. They were so much better than the items ordered for seated meals during regular hours. Started off not looking good, no hostess, line was building a when the hostess finally appeared, we got cut by two groups and the hostess just went along with it! There was then some confusion about if there was a wait time or not so we just asked if we could sit at the bar and order at the bar and they said fine, so that's what we did. We were just about to walk away but we had walked here from our resort and it was getting late so we stuck it out. Got some menus and went to order at the bar and one of the previous groups that cut us tried to cut in front of me again! This time I wasn't having it and called them out and thankfully the bartender responded to me and took my order. From there everything was uphill. First ordered a Beer Flight (4) for $14 I believe. - New South Dirty Myrtle (7/10) - Legal Remedy Peach on the Pier (6/10) And then asked for their two highest selling and they gave me; - Side Hustle Brewing Hustle Lite (4/10) - Tidal Creek Harmonic Hefeweizen (6/10) Then we ordered the BBQ Platter for 3/6ppl ($77) and it was delicious. We were accidentally given it in a To go Pizza box, but that turned out pretty cool actually. Dishwasher was also out of service so we got paper plates instead of glassware. No big deal. Overall, enjoyed the food, the place is really nice inside and out and fed a family of 4 for about $100 (not including tip). The staff was friendly as well, but they were definitely short handed (it's spring break) but we've been experiencing that all over MB for this week. I first ended up heading to Black Drum because I wanted to visit a brewery I had never been to. Man, am I glad I did!! When you head down to the brewery, you have to stop at a little guard house to get a placard for your car because they are in a gated area They have a wonderful inside seating area as well as a fully stocked bar. Their menu is wonderful, but the pizzas are what caught my eye. I ordered the honeysuckle pizza because of the truffle oil that is drizzled on top. It was so amazing that I went back the next day and ordered two to take home. The service was great, and the pricing was very fair. The outdoor seating area was very nice. They are connected to a resort, so the pool is directly behind the brewery. But you do have a nice meal of the ocean from the outdoor seating. I would highly recommend going here if you were in the north Myrtle Beach area and are a pizza or beer fan!! read more

We went for the special all you can eat Easter Menu and couldn't eat it all! We chose to sit outside with a view over the hotel pool and of the ocean (weather was perfect). Service was great (Avery was our server), we were able to eat at our own pace. She checked in often to make sure we were okay but was not intrusive. We were stuffed and happy, but forgot to take photos of the mains and sides (see menu posted). One small issue, the mains and sides were not as warm as we would have liked, but our bad for not requesting they reheat. We will definitely go back and try the regular menu. read more

OK, first of all let me say this has been the first time I have been in this area so this restaurant was next to our hotel Embassy suites here in Myrtle beach South Carolina!! We ordered a great chicken salad timeshare plus a dozen of grilled oysters and some chicken wings two different flavors plus a few drinks. Went to Black Drum's first Oktoberfest last evening and it was so much fun. The band was great not too loud not too quiet and played great music. Of course the beer choices are always amazing and the food was delicious. With it being the first one I'm sure there were a few speed bumps, however, all staff were pleasant smiling and I saw many upper level. Staff mingling through the crowd, making sure everything was just right, including the head chef tip and Cesar not sure if his title the bartenders smiled all evening and had great suggestions for the beers.! hope they plan doing more events like this and at least do another Oktoberfest next year. We sat outside and for this weather it was perfect. Nice ambiance and a little breeze. Our server was great and took good care of us. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy our food. We started with the seafood dip. Served with pizza crust dippers. (Yum) Drinks were good. I had the blood orange old fashion and my forever date had the peach sweet tea. The brisket was very tender and the jalapeños on top gave it a nice bite. The potatoes were definitely a good choice as well. The Carolina gold chicken sandwich was also great. Served with coleslaw on top. Other recommendations are the green beans. They were all gone. The Mac and cheese was good. I'm not a Mac and cheese eater that's why I say good. Impromptu stop as we just arrived to N. Myrtle Beach, and it started to sprinkle. We sat outside under the umbrella tables and ordered pizza which was delicious! We opted to add pepperoni to one side for our kiddo. We had great service and the entire staff was very kind and personable. The only thing I would say that was slightly concerning was in the crossword puzzle in the children's menu one of the words was cocktail. How does one prepare brisket that is both dry and sopping wet? Somehow the fine folks at Black Drum brewing have cracked the code. The brisket was lifeless, tasteless. It was like the cow cursed the meat which sat limply on the plate. Ok, but how was everything else? Also terrible. Shrimp and bacon skewers covered in a thick, sickeningly sweet gloppy mess. Green beans that tasted fresh from the can. Hush puppies that were the shape of little phalluses. The baked beans weren't bad. If you find yourself here, get the baked beans! Though the food was unpleasant, the drinks were quite good. They had a good variety of beers on tap and their cocktails were well prepared. The drinks are the reason I gave this place 2 stars. The servers were friendly and kind but they were severely understaffed. We opted to sit at the bar after waiting an interminable time waiting to be seated. I'm not sure what was happening there but tables were open while 6 groups crowded around the entrance waiting for someone to turn up and seat us. This place has potential, but it needs a major change in management and menu. read more

Outside patio is right next to a lovely pool (not busy or loud this time of year), and the beach just beyond. Loved that the special was fried oysters, not in the regular menu but a lovely surprise and exactly what I wanted. The sauces sure tasted house made, and the coleslaw was really good-sort of a smoky flavor-different and delicious. Several house made salad dressings (woohoo), and the salads were delicious. Another special, grilled cheese and brisket, whaaaaat. Jalapeño corn bread bread (yes bread bread, like a jalapeño corn flavored yeast ish bread), with pimiento cheese and brisket, grilled. Ridiculously rich but so fun. And...hummingbird cake! One of my faves I never can get up north. Very nicely done, with coconut, banana, nuts, and not too cream cheesy frosting. Ok, so how does a place with "brewing" in the name run out of the beer on the menu, that was disappointing. So in its entirety, not perfect but definitely worth it and I recommend. read more

Oh boy, this food here is NOT GOOD at all. The restaurant is beautiful and is very upscale. It's a great location with a view of the swimming pool and the ocean. From the looks alone, I thought I was going to have a great meal. I was wrong. I ordered the Smokehouse Ribs with fries and mac & cheese. And I got some hush puppies to start with. The hush puppies were just barely OK. Very bland, blah. The ribs were so dry...even though it said it was a dry rub...it was literally like chewing sandpaper. The mac & cheese was the worst I've ever had in my life. Even the smell of it was revolting. I tried two bites and I couldn't have any more. The only thing that was decent was the french fries. Certainly not enough reason to come back here again. They only get a second star because the waitress was very nice and her service was great. If you're looking for good food, I'd skip this restaurant and take the hotel shuttle anywhere else but here. read more

I was staying next door at the embassy suites for a week and are here three different times. It was nice to be able to charge things to my room since it is "on-property". The first time was at an event on the second floor. The space was huge with a very nice setup, but didn't include access to the craft beer that Black Drum is known for. I am not sure if this was the event organizer or just a limitation of the space. They had a build your own salad station, build your own loaded mashed potato station and a brisket carving station. The stations were very clever and fun. The brisket was meh. The next night, I decided to tryout the actual restaurant. It was amazing. Huge beer selection but I had an old fashioned that was very good. I also had the smoked wings with buffalo sauce. My co-worker had the pulled pork sandwich that was ridiculously big. They also have fired pizza which I wanted to try so I stopped in again. It was also great. I wish I could have went a few more times to try their salads and the brisket in the restaurant. The bartenders are also great but it would be nice if they had a whiskey menu. Their selection is very good for a place known for beer (Blantons gold, Blantons, Weller, etc) but with no menu, you end up having to ask how much a pour of each is, or get hit with a surprisingly large bill (I did the latter :)) read more

I always research before I travel and black drum was high on my list. I was in the Myrtle beach area for spring bike week 25'. We rode 40 minutes to black drum only to be essentially turned away. They wouldn't allowed motorcycles past the guard gate and said we could park up the hill and walk the 3/4 of a mile which we would have gladly done but then she dropped the real kicker. Motorcycle parking was $75 per bike. What an absolute scam. If you don't want peasants in your brewery then advertise it that way. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
