Do not go with this company. You will get ripped off. I sure as hell did. Black Diamond charged me $500.00 for a $100.00 valve that took 10 minutes to install. When I inquired why ot cost so much, they said it was because they had to run to the hardware store to pick one up. This was a common part, a house main water valve. I called another company and they told me it was likely the valve just needed to be adjusted - not replaced! I'm warning you all now. We have used Black Diamond for fixing a frozen faucet, installing an electrical system, and recently to check on our air conditioner that stopped working. The tech checked the system. He explained the problem in terms we could understand and gave us two options for fixing it. We decided replacing our air conditioner was the best option, however; the quoted price was more than we had planned on paying. When we spoke to the main office, they were able to quote us an agreeable price. The technicians were here the next day on time and cleaned up after the job was completed. We are happy to say the service is great. The staff is very knowable and professional. We like that they show up on time or will call if they are unable to meet the timeframe. Called one and they wanted $79 to come out and make a diagnosis and their earliest appt was next day afternoon 2pm. So, I booked it. Decided to check out the other.....Black Diamond, who charged $39 for a diagnosis and they had early morning. Cancelled the other and booked Black Diamond cause for realz, nobody wants to work on an AC in the heat! Steven P and Victor arrived a little after 8 and before 8:45 am, my house went from 82 to 75 deg. Here's a few tips from Steven: 1. Change your filters regularly; 2. Switch your indoor ceiling fans counter clockwise during summer and clockwise during winter. 3. She advised Parker would be the technician and will arrive between 4pm and 6pm. Perfect! Parker arrived in less than an hour. They charge way more than what they should be charging, especially for seniors. Just be wise and careful before agreeing to their charges. Get the estimate up front and make sure the charges are broken down to see what you're paying for. Do your research too on Amazon for any parts and YouTube to see if it's something you can repair yourself. Watch for high hidden LABOR charges. I called them on it and they refunded part of my money. Black Diamond replaced a shower head with one we had bought. They charged us $225 which seemed a bit high but since they had to come out to Springdale, I was okay with it. They gave us a bid to fix other issues with our two showers, coming to $4,944.00 with no break down as to parts and labors. We had another plumber here today who fixed both showers, now working perfectly, and the total charge was $477.05. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Less than 1/10 of Black Diamond's bid. I just don't know how to select a rating. But I do know I will not be calling them again. read more
