We've used Hedghog several times. Today, Bo came out and installed a new ceiling fan. He was actually able to come 3 days early because he got finished early with another job. Hedgehog (and Bo in particular because he's been here for another job) is reliable, fairly priced and professional. For a couple years we put off our decision on having a solar system installed. A good friend showed us his system, including a backup battery, and explained the benefits of solar with expected increases in power rates, power outages, and the importance of not relying on coal and other energy sources for electricity. After consulting with a few friends who have solar, we decided to get an estimate from two companies, Hedgehog Electric and Solar and another company. We felt that it was important to use a local company instead of the many out-of-area ones that solicit door-to-door around here and elsewhere. Our friends were very satisfied with Hedgehog Electric and Solar, and so we selected them and used the same salesman, Tyler Lambert, as did two of our friends. Tyler was very friendly and thorough in his presentation/discussion of solar for our home, and never once did we feel any pressure to make a decision. He answered all of our questions and was great in his communication with us through phone calls, texts, and emails. He has kept us informed of every step as we have progressed through the process of obtaining a solar system. Connor from the Production department came out almost immediately to survey our property and very efficiently handled the paperwork for us that goes to the HOA and the city of Washington. The installation crew was great! We had to be out of town during the day and a half that they were here, but they followed all the instructions and requests we had for getting into our garage and side yard, cleaning up, and securing the property on both days of the job. We also had the opportunity to meet Donny, also in Production, on the day of the inspection. He was very helpful in explaining the inspection process and answered our questions about future enhancements to the system should we need more power. It's not typical for the customer to be present during the inspection, but we had to unlock our circuit breaker box for the inspector. At the writing of this review, we are awaiting the final step of having Washington Power install the new meter that allows for the sharing of power with the grid which will allow us to receive a credit on our utility bill. We are very excited for this final step so we can go live and start using solar--generated power and receive the monthly credit on our bill! So if you are at all curious about solar systems and think that there is any chance you might be interested in going solar, we feel very good about recommending Hedgehog Electric and Solar, a local company with a great staff and installation crew that has been around for a long time and has an excellent reputation for installing solar systems. read more

Highly recommend! OUTSTANDING service! Thank you Cory for being so kind and helpful to my elderly parents. While visiting my parents in Dammeron Valley I noticed a very old baseboard heater that looked like a fire hazard waiting to happen. When I got home to San Diego I called Hedgehog and they were happy to work with me over the phone to help my parents. Cory the electrician was very thorough; did a complete inspection on their home, which gave me peace of mind. He fixed the heater and a few other issues. It's refreshing when companies have workers that take pride in their work, Chance and Jake are 2 of those employees from Hedgehog Electric, we hired Hedgehog to put in solar, with a ground mount with battery backup. When Chance installed the ground mount he was meticulous making sure everything was straight and level and went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean and better then he found it. Jake made sure all electrical boxes were level and attached securely with clean secure wiring inside all electrical boxes, there was no shoddy work from Hedgehog employees. I would say most workers don't care, slap it together and move on but not with this company, so if you need or want solar I highly recommend Hedgehog Electric. read more

Watch out for price gouging. We needed a 240 line installed for a new HVAC system. No new box or breakers were needed and the job was mostly indoor in our garage. I paid $69 to get a bid for the job. The bid was $3,100 for running about 35 ft of wire. That was an outrageous charge for this small job. A buddy and I did the job later in less than 3 hours and the materials cost $200. read more

Paid $463 for 1 hour of "troubleshooting" the popping of GFCI outlets. Replacing them would have been many hundreds of dollars more. No other cause was detected. Knowing that these devices have a 10-15 life time and the home is about that age, the "troubleshooting" effort could have been bypassed and the GFCI receptacles simply replaced. I am replacing them myself since I have already spent much more than was necessary. read more

Victor Johnson from Hedgehog did an impeccable job of installing electrical outlets for our upper to lower level, stair glide electric chair system last Friday. He showed us exactly what needed to be done and gave us options with an estimate. He reviewed our electrical boxes with us and corrected some errors that he found. He cleaned up completely. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a delight to have in our home. The person I spoke with on the phone to set up an appointment was pleasant. They followed through with accurate appointment time. I appreciate that. They charged $329.00 to replace 2 GFI outlets in a 1 hour time. I had this work done on my mothers home and did not have tools to do myself. I try to help when I can. I did receive the quote over the phone and it was tough to swallow. I asked the tech who called about 300 bucks and hour and he said " thats what the book billed out for charges".I agreed with that amount because they were at the home and it needed to be done. I have thought about that amount for several days and it bothers me to the core. I called the company back and asked if they often charge three hundred bucks per hour. I was told they don't bill by the hour. I explained I was charged $329 bucks for an hours work. Just sharing my thoughts. It seems like the "book" is priced a bit high? I had a light switch for my exterior lights replaced with a timer switch by this company. When I scheduled my appointment for the service they were able to do the work earlier than scheduled. When Ed arrived the service was very affordable and offered to inspect my house (didn't need this service my house is very new)which came with the service call.The technician Ed was very knowledgeable about the work, troubleshooting the problem and installed the switch in 20 minutes.
