What a find in Lakeland! I drove to Lakeland from Tampa, to meet with a friend living in Orlando. Such kind service, great outdoor seating, and fantastic food. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque with a strawberry salad of some sort, accompanied by a hot matcha latte with peppermint flavoring. All was delicious! I'd love to come back the next time I find myself in Lakeland. read more

10/10 in service, food and ambiance! It's been two years since I've been here and they've kept the concept on excellent customer service (Lucas, Chloe and the young man who makes it a point to greet every customer). The food was superb! I missed breakfast and I'm glad that I did because I got to explore their delicious lunch menu with the 1/2 & 1/2 options. I tried the half Bahni sandwich with the 1/2 Napa Valley salad (substitute the raisins for chickpeas) and all sauces on the side. I also snagged a blueberry muffin. Everything was delicious! Typing this makes me want to get another muffin for a midnight snack. It was so good. I'm convinced it had a hint of coconut. Definitely the spot to check out each time you're in town. The flavors were bold yet perfectly balanced, and I loved that they offered oat milk as an option. This isn't my first time trying their matcha, and it remains a delicious option! A heads-up--if you're visiting during the market, expect a long wait. Both times I've been, the line was out the door, and from entry to receiving my drink, it took about 30-35 minutes. So, definitely not a grab-and-go spot on a busy Saturday. That said, the ambiance inside is lovely, with exposed brick, beautiful floral artwork and plenty of seating. The space is clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and they offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and sweet treats that look delicious. My friend has an onion allergy and this place was so kind to accommodate him with his salad. I have never been here before and the staff were so friendly in answering our questions even when there was a long line. The place is nice and clean. Our food was delicious and the staff were so helpful. What I like the most that the staff was constantly cleaning and making sure that the place is clean. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with a lobster bisque and a salted caramel iced coffee . Stopped in today in the middle of our Saturday Farmers Market visit and ordered Shaken Espresso Coquito, hot chocolate, Jeannie's Espresso Dulce, Deviled Egg Salad Tartine ($6.55) and a cup of vegetable soup ($4.05). All of the drinks were really good and I will definitely order the Shaken Espresso Coquito again. The Deviled Egg Salad Tartine was so over the top spicy that it was not edible. Even scraping the egg salad off couldn't save the bread. The vegetable soup was slightly spicy and excellent. We would definitely order this again. There was a long line to order which shows how popular this cafe is. We interacted with two staff members, one at the register and one who served our food and both were really nice and helpful. This cafe has quite a few tables both inside and outside. We enjoy Black & Brew and look forward to our next visit. read more

I visited Black & Brew every day while on vacation in Lakeland. It was the best place for me to find gluten free breakfast and the environment was relaxing. Everyone was friendly and helpful too. The medium roast black coffee was so great I ordered it each morning! They also have a wide selection of teas and I enjoyed an iced tea that was infused with flavor but not sweet. The breakfast sandwiches were pretty good and I liked the apple butter bowl. You have to like apple butter because it is pretty strong. Maybe my favorite thing I had was the street corn Cobb salad. My only wish would be that they offer mugs when dining in. All drinks are served in paper to go cups, which is convenient for leaving early, but not as cozy and eco friendly. read more

I am from Connecticut and when ever I am traveling I always make sure to try all the local coffee shops. At B&B I loved the atmosphere supper cute relaxing patio. The breasta was very sweet and it is very clean. My only recommendation/suggestion is to add more different flavors. read more

I work right next door (if you don't like my review don't come looking for me please) so I come here almost every day, more than once sometimes. I've never walked away unhappy with my experience. One of my favorite things about B+B is how much seating they have. My coworkers and I love to come here in the mornings for our pre-work chats, and enjoy a drink or pastry in the meantime. Their seasonal drinks are a little too sweet for me, but that's just a personal preference. The servers and staff are always incredibly kind and smiley, and take the service to the next level! In addition to coffee, it's also one of my favorite lunch spots in Lakeland. If you've never been, I always recommend their Choose Two, with the chicken caesar salad, and the chicken pesto sandwich. Was staying down the street from this place and was looking for coffee! We got there around 11:30am on Saturday and it was fairly steady. Much of it was due to the Veterans Day parade going on, but we were able to grab a table and enjoy our food. My husband opted for the roast turkey sandwich and I opted for the white cheddar grilled cheese. We originally wanted breakfast, but they stop serving breakfast at 11 AM. The sandwiches were good but the turkey was not evenly spread over the bread so there really wasn't anything at the end of the sandwich. My white cheddar was good, definitely is a strong sandwich with some of the cheese choices but I enjoyed it. Each sandwich came with a bag of chips. My husband also got a cappuccino, and while it was good, it was primarily foam. Atmosphere - Just OK. This is the Main Street location. The restaurant is a bit on the small side with regard to seating both inside and outside along the sidewalk. The process involves ordering at the counter and having the food delivered to your table. It seemed as though the restaurant enjoys a significant take out business. Which may explain why the chairs are uncomfortable and there is no one keeping an eye on vacated tables so purposes of cleaning them. Service - Very Good. The ordering process is efficient and our food was delivered in a reasonable time frame. Food - Mixed experience. I ordered the soup and half sandwich. The soup was lobster bisque. It was served warm, but not nearly as hot as I would expect. It was thick and a decent flavor. However there was absolutely no lobster (no chunks nor any shredded meat) to be found in the soup). The half sandwich was the Bocadillo. The portion size was reasonable, the baguette fresh, the ham, cheese and other toppings were plentiful and very good. What I enjoyed most about the sandwich was the olive oil garlic aioli sauce. Overall Value - Good, but could have been great. The menu prices are very reasonable and the quality is pretty good. With some effort on the part of the manager on duty to ensure that tables are kept clean and hot food items are served hot, the restaurant could easily earn a 4 star rating. A five star rating could be earned by ensuring that their "Signature Lobster Bisque Soup" actually had lobster in every serving. read more

This place was okay! I don't drink coffee so I try to try something different and non-coffee at coffee shops. Something tasted really off about the frozen hot chocolate I got. It wasn't quite sweet or chocolately? Idk how to explain it. The pie was fine! The service was good. You're handed a table placard and they bring your drinks & food to you. A quaint little restaurant in the heart of Lakeland. Located inside the Lakeland Public Library, Blake & Brew has a small but concrete menu. I ordered the Corn Cobb Salad at the restaurant and was given a number and told to find a seat as my food would be brought to me. I couldn't find a table indoors either at the table or on the couch so I went outside to eat where there were plenty of tables. If you're looking for a fast and yummy place to eat after studying at the library, this is the right place. read more

Black & Brew - because everyone should know what love tastes like. Some high school kids recommended this place several years ago and took me by. That's when my addiction began. This place is far more than food - it is an atmosphere where you can go and truly relax. The food is amazing. My favorites are the Strawberry prailine salad, chicken pesto sandwhich and bacon praline breakfast sandwhich. There is no place I've found anywhere that makes savory food that brings nutrients and flavor everytime I go. Their iced chai tea latte's are amazing. AMAZING. If you have tried them elsewhere and are 'eh about them...give these a try. Their Lake Morton/library location was always my favorite - but was a bit far for me. It was worth the drive. Then they opened their south location. I couldn't imagine how they would bring the same atmosphere to an old donuts drive thru place. They have done it. I go there to just breathe. Customer service is also top notch. I never ever leave thinking an employee is anything but patient, friendly and accommodating. Even when I ask for their strawberry jelly after the fact. Seriously - I don't know how they manage to make their food so consistently but they do. As I said - love in every bite. read more

This is the best black and brew location due to the hours and just atmosphere. Can be busy on weekends but it's a really nice spot overall.

Coffee shops are my kryptonite, but as such, I'm probably more of a harsh critic. Love the vibe of this place. Came here on a Sunday afternoon after having lunch nearby. Staff is super cool. Great setup of the space. Great menu selections. I went with the ice latte with a pump of sugar-free vanilla, oat milk, and stevia. My only complaint is that the cup had to have had a hole in the bottom. I don't think it lasted 5 minutes before it was gone. It was sooooo good. I would definitely come back here. It looked like they had some great food options, which I would love to try. read more
