Newly opened, this store is attracting a lot of interest. I tried an iced latte regular. Unfortunately they use Califia almond milk (world's worst almond milk-people selling this brand don't drink it). This alone likely has me at "once and done". It's a franchise out of Orlando I think. They share the store with the ice cream shop--with a cold case of 10 flavors and a menu that includes waffle cones, affogato, and milkshakes. These also started at $5. The baristas I saw were experienced at coffee-making. They had a "newer" staffer working the loose leaf teas. The pastries seemed "not fresh" for a first day, not so appetizing, expensively priced ($6+) and sorta like Starbucks "wannabe" items (muffins, chocolate chip croissants, lemon cake). They too have a rewards card and lots of "merch". On the positive side--the coffee/espresso was delicious as was the fattier coconut milk option. Barista suggested it as a low cal alternative to the agreeably bad almond milk choice. They had a nice outdoor seating space for cooler days. The place was beautifully decorated and comfortable in blues and dark woods. I will come back again to try the ice cream and maybe a cold brew. To be on my regular route--need a decent almond milk. Everyone chatting felt it was high-priced for the area but enjoyed "hanging" in this area. Very noisy/industrial but should mellow as the newness wears off. Access is by parking in the back and walking around the building to the front (that is butt-up against a busy highway). This will not be an easy acess for those with walking support.

I feel like if you are going to call it vanilla cold foam it shouldn't just taste like heavy cream.

The vibe is awesome with brick walls, tasteful decor, and pleasant music, and just what I look for in a local coffee shop. Prices are fairly reasonable with many drink and food options. Although there was a bit of line when I visited, it moved quickly and staff was efficient in getting ordered items out to guests. I went with a white mocha frappe (5/5), asking for it to be made less sweet. It's not something I ordinarily see on the menu at local coffee shops, so was delighted at how good it was, with just the right amount of sweetness to it. It's shame that there's nothing like it at coffee shops close to where I live, as it's something that'd be in my regular rotation of caffeinated drinks I'd order. As my friends and I enjoyed our experience here, I'd definitely return to Black & Brew, and would recommend them to others looking for a quality coffee shop in Lakeland.

The standout for me was the Holiday Ham breakfast sandwich, and it absolutely lived up to its name. Built on a flaky buttermilk biscuit, it layers a light, fluffy egg soufflé with thinly sliced ham, praline bacon that adds just the right touch of sweetness, and a cranberry orange jam that ties everything together with a bright, unexpected pop. Every bite tasted thoughtful and seasonal without being overcomplicated--comfort food elevated. I paired it with Jennie's Dolce seasonal espresso drink, and it was so good I immediately wanted another. Even more impressive? The second one tasted just as perfect as the first--a small detail that says a lot about their consistency and care behind the bar. The coffee shop ambience immediately stands out, with a relaxed yet polished vibe that makes it just as ideal for a casual morning as it is for catching up on work or meeting friends. Service was warm and efficient, and you can tell this place has become a staple in the downtown community. If you appreciate creative twists on classic breakfast favorites and expertly crafted coffee drinks, Black & Brew is well worth the stop. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

It occupies a beautiful spot just a few blocks outside the main square in downtown Lakeland. The interiors of this donut cafe are tastefully decorated, and they have ample seating should you choose to enjoy your specialty donuts there soon after being served up. While it was hard narrowing down my selection since everything sounded great, I went with their cookies and cream donut (5/5) based on the recommendation of one of the staff members. It was quite possibly one of the best donuts I've had in years, with perfect donut texture as you bit into it, with all the delectable flavors of the indulgent cookies and cream on top. Not only was the donut excellent, but they are served up in tastefully retro boxes which just added to an already amazing experience. While I am generally underwhelmed with donut places, my experience with Parlor Doughnuts recalibrated my scale to what a delicious and ideal donut experience should be, and look forward to trying out their other locations in my future travels. A special thanks to Parlor Doughnuts for raising the bar in the donut game.

It's nice to have a coffee option here, even if it's nothing spectacular. They serve Starbucks coffee, but it is not a Starbucks location, like how many hotel lobbies will serve Starbucks in their bar area. So you can get a lot of the drinks Starbucks sells at their mortar locations. But they also have some pastry and basic food items. I tried an everyday bagel and it was decent. Inside the shop is super cute, with tons of disco balls, a bit of greenery and plenty of seating.

It "proudly serves" Starbucks coffee, so many think it is a Starbucks (nope) or just called the "Welcome Center" (nope). There is little advertising this little gem with grand inside seating and lovely outside seating with a great view of the park, near the entrance parking lot. It does provide Starbucks beverages plus baked goods from other vendors, both sweet & savory. There is ample help. The day I went people seemed confused and aloof. Nonetheless, I had a great latte and pumpkin roll pastry. I will return. It's a great start to your day or pre-walk through the park. Someone is missing the ball not to take the lead and feature this coffee shop as a destination.
