This is a solid ice cream shop with good flavors. They have dairy and non-dairy options. You can also get pints of their ice cream. They allow you to sample the ice cream and I went with half-scoops of the Mars ice cream and Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream. Both were very good, the Pumpkin Cheesecake had a little too much cinnamon on its own for my preference, which is why I matched it with the Mars ice cream and that was the perfect combo for me. The customer service here is very good. It's located in The Joinery food hall and has plenty of seating all around.
There is no such thing as too much ice cream. MayDay Ice Cream is a neighborhood staple at this point. You go grab dinner at any of the awesome stalls nearby and you stop at MayDay for a sweet treat afterwards. Flavors are their strong suit here and they have tons of fun and unique offerings. I've loved their lavender and honey flavors, but recommend literally all of them! I love sampling their seasonal flavors. Sometimes, the texture is a bit inconsistent depending on the flavor. They're all usually very creamy and delicious, but I've had a few experiences where the ice cream was hard and a bit chalky. Overall, it's not a big deal and that's what samples are for! Highly recommend if you're in the Lakeland area.
Mayday Ice Cream is basically my Roman Empire. I'm lactose intolerant but I still pull up like it's my Super Bowl--zero fear, zero regrets. The rotating flavors are always cracked, never a flop, and that little waffle chip on the side? Literal king behavior. Yeah it's a bit pricey but i don't really care bc it's fire. Perfect tiny stall spot in a nice area next to the lake, great for a date with my wife which we did and she's the best.
My friend let me taste her ice cream! Since i ate the hell outa the Ramen next door? No sweets for me. Soooooo she let me have a spoon! The salty caramel is soo GOOd! And the other one was i believe cotton candy? It was delicious though, yet not for me. Next time im around ill eqt less n try a cone of these!
Visited the Mayday Ice Cream store in Lakeland. All of the flavors looked scrumptious. I decided to go with PassionFruit Golden Milk and totally delighted with this flavor. I am a BIG fan of Turmeric and that sold me. What I liked best about this ice cream is how light and smooth it felt when it melted in my mouth. There was not too much sugar rather it tasted like light honey with a hint of berries. Even the whipped cream tasted homemade. The cherry on top was the deep red that was soaked in a hint of rum. It might not have been in rum but it was hint so who can say. The Mayday Ice Cream shop is located inside The Joinery in Lakeland FL. This eatery hosts an assortment of eclectic food establishments that will be one of my MUST stop places to visit and eat for a taste of whatever my palette is craving.
I loved Mayday Ice Cream!! This cute little shop that makes their own ice cream. I got the Cookie Crush ice cream and it was the best ice cream I've had in a long time. It was sweet but not too sweet, and had chucks of cookies in it. I got the sprinkles and they were also delicious!! They seemed to be homemade which isn't very common for ice cream places. If you're in the area I'd definitely stop by! They have the cutest seating outdoors to enjoy with the family.
We stopped at the Lakeland location as part of our road trip and the ice cream didn't disappoint! The food hall has a fun vibe I wasn't expecting from Lakeland and the layout made it easy to find and line up to order. Staff was friendly and patient with questions and recommendations. The only downside was the pretzel cone which I was really excited about, especially to pair with my peanut butter and chocolate ice creams, but as a pretzel lover, found it lacking pretzel flavor and almost tasting undercooked and bland. The ice cream was the exact opposite, luckily, packed with flavor and great ingredients and texture combos. My friend who is gluten free was also able to find multiple flavors she was excited about and we both appreciated that you could do 2 different flavors in the single scoops size. Bonus that they offered Hyppo pops in the cooler!
Such a great little ice cream shop located inside The Joinery! My husband had taken our kids there last year after taking them to a museum nearby. We were in town visiting family and I must have been MIA working from my in-laws place. They sent me pics from Mayday and they had raved about the ice cream then! This year, we were back in town and we decided to go there after grabbing dinner nearby so I could try it too! It's a small kiosk but it is jam packed of goodies! Things to note: - Flavors - They seemed to have 24 flavors in the case, all such interesting flavors. By the looks of the menu, they have 16 classic flavors and 8 seasonal flavors. - Cones - they make their waffle cones on site, but they also have the sugar one and a surprising new type, the pretzel! Such a unique option! Never seen that one before. Have you? - Toppings - Even the toppings seem to have been thought out. The sprinkles are different, more pastel colored and thinner. Just prettier. They make their own Maraschino cherries. That's cool! When you order scoops in bowls, they stick a waffle cookie in it! The bowl is rectangular too, so they scoop the ice cream side by side instead on top so that I can try each flavor and alternate instead of having to eat whatever flavor is on top, finishing it and then eating the one at the bottom and then wished you had more of the one you had on top. They really thought this through and I appreciate it so much! - Taste test - they don't mind you sampling anything at all. Score (!) for people like me who have order fright. I got: Raja honey - Jasmine green tea & honey Sunday best banana pudding - like a banana pudding Both were creamy and so, so delicious. The jasmine portion was right on the money. The only thing I would says though is that the honey was maybe slightly overpowering. The Sunday Best banana pudding was perf! The consistency is so creamy, kinda like gelato texture, but a bit more frozen if that makes sense. Reminds me of texture and consistency of Gelati Celesti in Va Beach for the peeps back home. Also, my kids remembered that they got stickers from Mayday last year, of Hyppo (it was a popsicle), and come to find out, on a separate visit, we have been to a popsicle place in St Augustine called Hyppo and it turns out, same owners! (Must stop if you're in St Augustine btw). These people obviously know how to make frozen treats! Grab some dinner at any of the vendors in The Joinery and then be sure to save some room for the ice cream at Mayday! Stay safe, Friends!
Located inside the joinery. They have amazing flavors , i went with the dairy free pistachio moon - creamy made with coconut milk, fresh pistachios, at first it was a little too rich on the coconut milk but then you acquire the taste. Wasn't bad I'd get it again. My partner had the blueberry toast crunch said it was AMAZING the blueberries were fresh & the Cinnamon Toast Crunch gave it a nice crunch The line was a little long but moves really quick the 2 guys working there had a great flow of helping the customers. 5 stars
Ice cream was great , got the midnight chocolate and it was honestly delicious ... Staff were awesome and super friendly .... It's located in the joinery were there is a bunch of small food options but Mayday for sure take the cake on ice cream there !! Love the fun colorful vibe ... Visited the Mayday Ice Cream store in Lakeland. All of the flavors looked scrumptious. I decided to go with PassionFruit Golden Milk and totally delighted with this flavor. I loved Mayday Ice Cream!! This cute little shop that makes their own ice cream. I got the Cookie Crush ice cream and it was the best ice cream I've had in a long time. This shop was very cute and friendly staffed. There was lots of unique flavors and different types of cones to choose from. I wouldn't say it was a favorite spot of mine but it was a good place for a quick treat. The spoons were a little weak but overall a pretty good shop. read more

This ice cream is so good my heart yells "MayDay! MayDay!" as it falls into a happy coma! Whether it's because the store is actually called MayDay or because that's what is repeated when a plane is crashing, is yet to be figured out. I have to say, I am so picky about ice cream. There aren't many things I'm picky about- I'm a pretty chill person (a casual pun), and I really like to try stuff so I'm open to most things. But when it comes to ice cream I have a very high standard just because of how watered down the market is. Let me tell you- MayDay passes the test time and time again. Aces it, in fact! They have super fun flavors that aren't at your regular old 'scream shop. Like coffee & donuts, dirty chai, toasted coconut, and other fun-ly named screams that are also changing up from the mainstream. When you check out with your cold delight, they also offer you the choice of HOUSEMADE SPRINKLES or a little wafer cookie. Yep, that's right- they make their owns sprinkles and they are fire!! Such an amazing little detail. Fortunately too, you can take home this amazing ice cream in to-go pints and rep a MayDay pin while you walk it. There's a reason that this place always has a long line when you walk into the Joinery. They the real deal. read more

Friendly staff member who was nice to offer taste testing on the different flavors before purchasing. I ordered the Dirty Chai ice cream on a waffle cone. The sprinkles and the waffle were free, which was surprising Since most places charge extra for that. Great chai flavor. Make sure to eat it fast because they do melt fast. read more

There are some super unique flavors here! I sampled the mint and was instantly in love so didn't get to try a bunch of flavors, but based on the two I did have I'm guessing they are all amazing. I paired the mint and the chocolate and they were a perfect combination! The mint was light and refreshing and perfect for a warm Florida day. All the ice cream comes with a complimentary cookie and sprinkles. I opted to just get the cookie and I was hoping it would be more like a waffle cone but it was kind of crumbly. Definitely not necessary imo, the ice cream flavors are beyond yummy on their own. read more

Yummy! It was a wait every time we went this trip but when you have a beverage in your hand from the bar at The Joinery and people to chat with, it's no big deal. We tried the flight on our last visit so we could try lots of flavors. They say that they are "mini" scoops but it is a lot of ice cream all together for less than $10. We liked every single flavor we tried but some favorites were Key Lime, Parent Trap (peanut butter ice cream with Oreos in it), and the one with the biscoff cookies and hazelnut flavor. Really good ice cream and a nice small treat after the yummy food at the other places. read more

Mayday Ice Cream in Lakeland, Florida today was awesome. Great variety of flavors! I had a scoop of s'mores and a scoop of triple vanilla. The s'mores had a lavish amount of add-ins and the portion sizes were generous. The Joinery has a range of food vendors with excellent indoor and outdoor seating making this shop a great choice for groups and families. read more

First so you don't waste time looking for it, Mayday Handcrafted Ice Cream is in The Joinery, "a modern food hall" on Main Street. There is seating and bathrooms nearby. Second it is Credit or Debit CARD ONLY. No cash. The place is very clean. The workers wear red hats and masks for food safety. Customers can do what they want. Oh my goodness this is a tasty treat. There are endless combinations and flavors. The ice cream is all named unique names so once you walk away you probably won't even remember the name of the one you got but you'll know what you like. I had a hard time deciding. I could have eaten any of the flavors ordered around me. It was so fresh and creamy. When we were there there was Mint Monster, Straight Strawberry, The Aviator, Triple Vanilla, Coffee and Donuts, Blueberry Toast Crunch, Strawberry Mint, Lavender Melange, Sweetlime, Icebox lemon, Blackberry Earl Grey, among others The Mint Monster was delicious. I got it in a cup pilot size (one scoop) with the chocolate sauce (50 cents extra) but so worth it. They threw sprinkles on it too. Extras you pay for are cherries, whipped cream, nibs and chocolate sauce. Options are Cups, cones, waffle cones, floats, affogatos, plus one scoop (pilot), 2 scoops (Wingman) and 3 scoops (flight). Some flavors are even dairy free. Perfect for date night, family gatherings, friends outings, birthdays or just every day cravings. Everyone in our party ate their flavors so fast I didn't even get a photo. It was amazing tasting. I got the smallest one and walked away completely satisfied. Can't say enough about this place! Some of the most unusual flavors in ice cream right here. The place is a bit hard to find if you are looking for a Mayday sign on the outside. Combined with road construction in the area, it's a bit of a hunt to locate it. It is inside the place called the Joinery, which combines a bunch of different restaurants into one location. Their menu is completely eclectic and will suit almost anybody, I think. I managed to narrow my choice down to a single scoop in a dish. Of course, there are flights, multiple scoops, cones, dishes, floats, etc. The scoops are pretty large, actually and if you get a flight, you are in for six decent sized scoops of whichever choices you prefer. We took ours and sat outside enjoying them while people watching and studying the lake across the way. Both choices in ice cream were mostly good, although the flight included one in particular that was not our favorite. Now if only we could remember which one it was. When you look at the choices, you'll see a lot of flavors. Probably a good idea to remember what it was you got, so you can get it again the next time. read more
