I ended up ordering nearly $100 of non-alcoholic beer online here as I'm a teetotaler now. Drove in from CA, as I frequent the area on both business & pleasure. My order was ready by 8am. Another big advantage over CA was no tax or CRV fees on the order. Score! Great, competitive prices over most grocers and other liquor warehouses. No brainer coming here.

Dear Customer Relations Team,…read more I am writing to formally report a very disappointing experience my parents and I had at one of your BevMo! store locations today. My father was attempting to purchase a bottle for an upcoming wedding. Although I was not purchasing any alcohol or making a transaction, the cashier insisted that every person in our group present identification. I explained that I am 32 years old and was simply accompanying my parents, who are both in their 60s and were the only individuals making a purchase. The situation escalated when the manager stated that it was store policy to ID everyone present and ultimately refused service when I stepped outside the store. As a result, my parents were unable to complete their purchase. We fully respect and support responsible alcohol sales and compliance with ID laws. However, denying service to a legal purchaser because other adults are present -- even when those adults are not involved in the transaction -- felt excessive, unnecessary, and poorly handled. The interaction left us feeling embarrassed, singled out, and unwelcome. This experience also raises an important question: if a minor enters the store with their parents, would the parents be denied service as well? If this is indeed the policy, it would be helpful for customers to see it clearly posted and explained before reaching the register. We are long-time customers and did not expect to be turned away in this manner. I hope this feedback will prompt a review of how this policy is enforced and communicated so future customers do not have a similar experience. I would appreciate a response regarding this matter. Sincerely, Julian

Ben, Ben, Ben! Where have you been, Ben?!…read more I come here when I'm pressed for time since it's right up the street. I've found that my go to beer can be found elsewhere a couple of bucks cheaper when I have the time to go elsewhere, but again, in a pinch, it's all good. What I like about Ben's is that I can find liquor and wines here that I can't find elsewhere! They have a wonderful selection of wine and sometimes I'll grab a bottle of wine that the boss has never had before, to see if she'll enjoy it. If so, I know where to get it! I found some liquors that I like but have had no luck finding it anywhere else! Now, I know just where to get it! Are you frustrated because you have hunted everywhere for that special something but you can't find it? Go to Ben's! If they don't have it, you probably don't really need it anyway!... Just sayin'.

Suffice to say, a lot of locals think of their name when they are pondering over where to pick up some beverages for themselves or an occasion, and it is nice having a local business do well and expand for so long, too. This particular location on old North Virginia Street is located in the same complex as the Bonanza Casino. Easy to find with plenty of parking, you can quickly stop in and grab what you need, or browse their shelves for something a bit more interesting. The selection here covers all the bases you could want. Beer ranging from the big mass-market brands to craft staples to local favorites. Plenty of wine on the shelves, and certainly enough liquor to float a watercraft in, handily broken out by type, style, and brand. And while this is certainly not the place to find some rare spirit or artisan liqueur, you will almost certainly find something to suit your tastes, or even discover something interesting worth trying out. My favorite tip is to stop in here to snag a bunch of the tiny airline-sized bottles of booze, as they make great stocking stuffers around holiday time. Prices are really decent, pretty much on par with other stores in town. Though make sure to browse and see what might be on sale, as you can land some good deals. Service has always been pretty friendly and helpful, too. All things considered, Ben's is a really solid spot that you can't really go wrong with.
