Why oh why have we never noticed you before? Been going back and forth this road for years and have been reluctantly gassing up at that creepy place in Susanville just because we thought we didn't have any other choice. Never again! The Mark has only one restroom but it is very clean and it smells good.. The people that work here are super friendly and helpful, beef burrito is freshly made and way better than supermarket burrito, they make their own pizza and bread. Everything is affordable. This is definitely a gem. Can't wait to stop by and hopefully try their pizza and get more burritos. read more

I have friends in the area. I taught school there for 11 years. I am on my way to visit friends in Milford, CA, and driving north on US 395. I have not stopped at the Mark for quite a few years. I knew the original owners but the business has been under the current ownership for a while. I stopped there believing I could buy fishing supplies, but they did not have what I wanted. I asked politely if I could use their bathroom, and I was told the bathrooms were for "customers only." My reply was, "I walked in here as a potential customer, but I found out you no longer carry what I wanted to buy." The lady I was having this conversation with answered me with, "Cleaning supplies cost money, baby. The bathrooms are for customers only." That reply was inappropriate and unexpected. Good thing I had another 10-12 minutes more driving time. I am thankful it wasn't a child or someone who may have been in dire need of using the bathroom, the closest rest area is about 20 minutes away. I was perplexed at the attitude of the owners, knowing that I was a potential customer, I was non-threatening, and I was polite. I walked out like I walked in, but I will never stop there again. When out in the boonies this place is a lifesaver! Located at 76th gas station. I came in late about 6pm. Only a few selections of self serve foods. You must try the honey mustard with the chicken strips. They keep the honey mustard out if reach so ask for it! read more

Normally I would be giving this place a 5 or higher. The older man who I think is either the owner or the manager is wonderful. Always friendly and helpful and until today I had never had a rude employee experience. Today changed that. I had 2! My husband and I came in for sandwiches because the food here is great. One guy was by himself with a big crowd so we waited. A girl finally came up and started helping, I guess she was too busy before smoking or something. They cleared out the line quickly then started joking around about something she was showing him on her phone. Finally he looked up and said "you want something ". We asked if they were making sandwiches. She sighed and rolled her eyes and he groaned and said "yeah I guess". She then said "you know if you had called ahead they would be ready and I could be doing other things". We told her we didn't know what all they had and she again rolled her eyes and said "they are in the page". We finally got the papers for the sandwiches and she snapped "we don't have any lettuce ". Told her that was fine. She then started making our sandwiches and spent the whole time yelling back and forth with the guy about how someone wasn't listening to her cause she told them no. She spent a lot of time slamming things around and I watched more than once as she literally flared at me and my husband. All the while making the food and repeatedly reaching for her phone with the gloves she was making our food with. This is NOT the normal treatment we receive here and we live close and come here often. I will be coming back tomorrow to talk to a manager because this is unacceptable in every sense read more

This is one of the few stops on Highway 395 between Reno and Susanville. Gas station with propane. They make fresh deli sandwiches, and pizza's, the sandwiches and pizza are made to order with fresh ingredients. The pizzas are huge! They have a good selection of beer and alcohol as well. read more

The Mark is a good place for anything you need between Reno and Susanville. They have all the usual gas station/convenience store stuff (lotto, coffee, gas, chips, etc) but they have above average things as well. Made to order deli sammiches, surprisingly good pizza, a hot case full of fried goodness, decent selection of groceries, and LOTS of condiments. I love me some condiments and they've got em all. Ranch, sweet & sour, BBQ, relish, soy sauce, hot sauce, all at no charge. Most convenience stores have a smattering of the usual stuff but they've got the unusual ones that a guy like me uses to spice things up a bit. Very close to Honey Lake Motocross track too. Staff is friendly and restrooms are clean. If you're hungry, thirsty, bored, or flatulent on your way to or from Reno and need a place to stop and get some air, make it at The Mark. Get set. GO!! I have been traveling the 395 for many, many years now and have stopped at the Mark a handful of times, they have always had a clean RR and been very pleasant. However, my last visit has prompted me to let all travelers that it is a great place. I had a flat just North of them and limped my way to their place, upon arriving they do not have Air, (bummer). The wonderful woman there Olga was kind enough to go out of her way and let me use her own air pump. Do to her kindness I was on my way with a short delay. Overall they are great!!
