So happy that there is a local craft brewery here. I think they have something for everyone. Seltzer to porters, sours to saison, pints to flights..... They even can send you home with their crawler can. In and outdoor seating.

Waganupa is one of our favorite breweries to visit. When we visit Lake Almanor is it always a must on our list. The location is fun and matches the whole almanor vibe. The owner is the best! He's a local and turned his hobby into an amazing business. Not only is this brewery more local than it gets but they also focus on keeping things natural. The water they make the beer with has no additives and personally I think that's one of the reasons why the beer is so good! If they have it on tap you must try the jalapeño! All of the beer is good but the jalapeño is one of my favorites. The PCT themed one is also a must! We love this brewery and we will always be big Waganupa Brewing supporters!

Lake Almanor is lucky. I've been to several small, hometown breweries. You order an IPA and get IPF. India Pale Fail. I know it's a beer style with a wide range of interpretations but "what in God's name am I drinking" should not be one of them. Waganupa had a hazy IPA on tap, Fog Hat. Good lord, it was tasty. My drinking buddy made a good point. She said you could drink these things like nothing out on the lake. Then, you'd probably feel like you were wearing a fog hat. Not sure if that's where it came from, but I'm going with it and the beer is amazing. A handful of us went so I got to try their choices as well. Snow Plant, a tart cherry saison, was amazing. I had to go back to get my own. Blackberry wild was tart, funky, and delicious. The common was solid. They also have a rotating cask pour. While we were there it was something dark and sticky with a smooth finish. The next beer to grace the cask was fermenting on the bar. Nice big patio, bar-top for quick repours, shuffleboard, board games, and snacks on all the tables. They encourage outside food to be brought in. Grab a pizza from Tantardino's pizza across the street and drink the night away. On the way out, I made sure to find the owner/brewer and tell him his beers were spot on. We ended up talking about home-brewing for 5 minutes and he gave me some of his tips he used to use. Great guy. You're lucky Lake Almanor.

Small local brewery where the brewer actually pours the beers. I had a good conversation while he explained the process for the beers that I was trying. I had the Common. Nice flavor in a light beer. The Common with lime was awesome. He explained that he added a lime purée. The berry common was good as well with the added berry purée. If you like hazy beers. Try the foggy. It was outstanding as well. Everything I tried was good. That is not an easy feet for a small operation. The place was nice. People were nice. Beer was great and reasonably priced at 6 bucks a pour. They had some sweatshirts and hats to buy as well. I certainly recommend.

It was a really fun surprise to find this brewery! We were getting a pizza nearby and they mentioned there was good beer across the street while we wait. So, we headed over and immediately loved the vibe of the place. It's super clean, and they have a small, but good selection of beers on tap. They had a nice variety between a German beer, a hazy IPA, a porter, and a few others. After sampling the Hazy I was SOLD! One of the best, if not THE best Hazy I've ever had. A great bonus was the board games so we played Battleship and drank beer while we waited for our pizza. We will definitely be back the next time we come to Almanor.

Found an amazing tap room on vacation in Lake Almanor.

This brewery is an amazing find on vacation in Lake Almanor. Everything our group ordered tasted perfect but I recommend the 1325 IPA. The kids had a blast playing all kinds of games while we drank and watched. We loved talking to the charming couple that owns Waganupa Brewing and we plan on returning every time we are in the area now.

If you ask me for places that stand out in the greater Reno-Tahoe region brew scene, The Good Wolf…read morewould be near the top of the list. For years now, I've been saying these guys make some of the best, most unique beers in our area. And anyone looking for a solid pint or some creative things to try, would do well to swing by. Firstly, I absolutely love the location. It's a cozy little spot in the north Truckee industrial area. But step through the doors, and you enter a space that can only be described as a mix of hippy commune and witch's lair, with some delightfully quirky decor, and an incredibly friendly staff. Really does feel like a hidden gem. But as for r the beers themselves; in short, I think these are some of the best quality, and most niche types of brews you'll find around here. They have a smaller menu, but what they have is dominated by their Forest Beer series. These are concoctions made with all sorts of foraged ingredients from the forests, fields, and farms close to Truckee. Always changing, it is something to try out. The Borrowed Bines used fresh cut hops, the Bay Shore uses locally culled bay leaves, the Range of Light uses picked juniper berries, and the Dirt Candy uses mushrooms that grow in the woods. They also have been breaking into brewing their own apple cider, which is delicious but quite strong. Plus, they will usually have N/A options with their house lemonade or brewed soda on tap, too. So yeah, the menu almost certainly has something for everyone. Prices for everything are pretty typical.for the area, usually around $8-9 per pint. Though my one sort of gripe is that the smaller 4-5 ounce tasters are like $4 each, a bit pricier than most other tasters, so that makes it quickly more pricy to try out a lot of their menu. If you want any beers to-go, sadly they only offer a few at this juncture, and in bottles. And there is no food here, just a few snacks for sale. But make sure to browse their swag stands, as they have some eclectic merch. All in all, I definitely encourage any beer fans to come and check this spot out. Been one of my favorites for years, and I'll bet it can easily become one of yours, too. Cheers, all!
