The food and drink came out pretty fast, and there wasn't much waiting. The place was very quiet and calming. Their music wasn't loud, so I was able to have a conversation with my friend while eating at Bkd Bagels. I thought both bagels were really yummy and were the perfect size. The Garlic Bagel was very good as it so well flavored with seasoning. I would recommend if you are a true garlic fan! The everything bagel was also very tasty well. Been wanting to check out this place for a while and decided to take my boyfriend there for his birthday because he loves lox bagels. We got a people's champ bagel which has lox and capers and a hot & bothered bagel which is a bacon, egg & cheese, sausage, and hot honey. We really enjoyed the bagels and the interior was super cute. Would be cute to get some pics inside. The strawberry shortcake matcha was also very good, big fan of matcha so i am picky but i really enjoyed this one. I've noticed some peoples main complaint is service but for us it was very quick and easy. The cashier was very nice and answered our questions really well when asking about bagels. Now the price it what gets me, i feel like it is a BIT pricy for a bagel sandwhich but cost of living is going up so i kinda understand. Really enjoyed Bkd Bagels, we order pretty frequently from here. The garlic bagel had great flavor, and the onion bagel sandwich and jalapeño cheese bagel was fresh and scrumptious. Another time I got a jalapeño cheese bagel with a turkey sausage patty, fried egg, pepperjake cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, onion and the spicy spread and it was also delicious. This was my first visit to a bkd Bagels location. I didn't come on opening day, to avoid long lines and big crowds. However, they were still fairly new when I visited. They were close to fully stocked when I came on a Saturday afternoon. I tried the following items: -jalapeno cheddar bagel with veg cream cheese, toasted- this was good, except the bagel was still to soft and not toasted enough. -garlic bagel with butter, toasted - the garlic was a bit too heavy, I wish I chose onion bagel instead; also, not toasted enough. Considering they charge the same price for butter and cream cheese, it could have used more butter. -chocolate chip muffin & apple cinnamon muffin - both were good, but would have been nicer if if they could warm up, but they don't. The service was great. They announce orders loud enough and are quick with the orders. I love the way they package the bagels, in a wrapper, then a little bag. If I order bagels again, I'd ask them to double toast or extra toast the bagel so it's not so soft.The bagels are sitting out in the open (on the wall) for what seems like the whole day. I think they should store them in a closed container to keep freshness and flies/bugs away. The muffins and other baked goods look like they are brought in from outside and not baked in-house. It would be nice if they have the capability to heat them. There is outdoor seating available as well as a little "kitchen" for kids to play with. There is parking around the building, shared by other businesses. Would I return? Maybe if I'm in the area or really craving a bagel. read more

Very fresh and yummy everything bagel. After walking my Border Collie we stopped by to check what the fuzz was about. Waited for this store to open as I watched it being built and developed... so not sure why the first 2 reviewers would give such poor ratings. As soon as I walked in, I could sense the freshness and different flavors. Inside was lined up with different bins of fresh bagels and by appearance alone I give 5 stars! Despite the long lines this AM, I finally got a taste of bkd bagel. The Everything bagel I had was flavorful and I could taste enough salt in it that could be lacking in some compétition so yes, I'd give 5 on taste! It's up there with Bethesda bagels (hmmm not yet call your mother) and slightly not as dense, great form yet the softness also makes the texture even better. Great seating with lots of usb charging ports. Also has diff merch on display like hats, mugs, etc. My first visit of BKD bagels, I have never gone to their locations in Leesburg. This location is Brambleton/Ashburn is very nice addition to this area. I'm confident that as time goes by, this location will be just fine and patronized, each day improving to provide excellent service. Just fyi and of significant note, everything is ala carte so don't bother asking if therés a special for a dozen or half a dozen. I tried to make my visit as seamless as possible to help the order taker who was sweet but had to look for a more senior staff to answer the question about half dz pricing. visited this bkd bagels out of impulse and was satisfied with our experience. i got a garlic bagel with veggie cream cheese, extra toasted. the bagel was soft in the inside and crispy on the outside, with a good amount of filling. it was delicious! the big tuna on sourdough was quite disappointing though. i wish i could have taken a photo of it. it looked simply unappetizing and inedible. with the tiniest amount of tuna salad, there are thick slices of tomato and a pile of hard yellow cheese on top. the porportions need to be messed around with for sure. the tuna salad itself with the bread was good though. interior was nice and spacious. great for photos and decent outdoor space. needs friendlier staff. read more

brand new bkd bagels in brambleton!!!!! I am so excited to have a bkd bagels in this area as they are the only bagel shop in this area (unless you count Panera Bread). I've been to the ones in Purcellville and passed the ones in Leesburg, but this has been the only one I've been excited for. situated next to a daycare and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, you can find bkd bagels on the end unit with a slight line. I'm sure once the hype dies down, there won't be as long as a line. It's a gorgeous retail space beautifully designed. though their purcellville location is super cute if you've never been. grand opening day was hectic. we waited for an hour before getting in an ordering. they messed up our order a few times - ordered an iced chai and received a hot one. the iced chai ended up just being all milk because they poured very little chai into the cup. I should know, I watched how little she poured in before throwing the chai bottle back in the fridge. for the price, it's not worth it if you're just getting whole milk in a cup for $5.50. the bagel sandwiches were good, but at $9 for a bacon egg and cheese, I'm good. I'd rather just get a dozen bagels and make it myself at home. their cream cheeses are good and their bagels itself are so soft. I'd recommend trying them once, but don't expect anything cheap. BKD bagels is a bagel chain in Virginia known for their high quality and unique bagel flavors. This location just recently opened up in Brambleton and it's located near the CVS. There's plenty of parking in the lot. I went on opening day and there were cute balloons outside and inside. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for small groups. We stood in line for about an hour and when we ordered, both my friend and I were mischarged because each add on was charged even if it was included in the sandwich. Also, my pumpkin spice matcha was made incorrectly the first time (no pumpkin cold foam and also the milk tasted rotten) so we asked for it to be made again. The second time it still tasted like rotten yogurt with a hint of pumpkin and watered down matcha. Also, my bagel took almost 20 minutes to be made and had too much cream cheese on top of the unappealing layer of cheddar not melted on my untoasted bagel. Wasn't really a fan that day, but my office often caters from here almost weekly as well. The cream cheeses that we get (veggie, scallion, and plain) are great, but the spicy everything bagel is too spicy for me since there are uncooked red pepper flakes permeating the bagel and the jalepeno cheddar has too much unmelted congealed cheese. read more

I was so excited for a good bagel place to open in the South Loudoun area, however this was a huge disappointment. We popped into this Brambleton location yesterday afternoon on their grand opening day, and by 1400 they were still busy, but not mobbed, and the wait wasn't bad. The first thing I noticed was the smell, or rather lack there of. Walking into a bagel shop I expect it to smell like a bakery, you know like a place where they bake fresh on site. This location disappointingly smelled nothing like a bakery. This new location was spacious and bright, with ample indoor seating but overall quite white and bare. Aside from a few deep, oversized arm chairs that were awkward to sit in, there was really nothing soft to absorb any sound, thus despite not being packed, it was uncomfortably loud inside so we opted to get our food to go. They were sold out of most of their bagels by 1400, which was a bit surprising given they were supposed to be open for another 4 hours. The bagels that they did have available were absolutely NOT FRESH. They had no give, no bounce to them, and I would bet my life they were at least a day old, if not older. (Further confirmed by the fact that all 3 varieties of loose bagels we purchased to take home were rock hard less than 24 hours later.) The chicken salad was bland and mediocre at best. The hot & bothered breakfast sandwich was much better, but still lacking in seasoning/flavor. Overall, mainly because of the staleness of the bagels neither sandwich was good. They do offer a good selection of bottled and canned drinks including Topo Chico in glass bottles, Coke soft drinks in cans, and an assortment of bottled juices. They also serve hot & cold coffees as well as espressos at this location, and they carry several varieties of Route 11 potato chips. YMMV, but next time I have a hankering for a good bagel I will just make the trek to a Bethesda Bagels location. read more

I am a regular at BKD, at this location and the Fort Evans locations (I've been to Leesburg and Pville locations, too). I know the difference between a good breakfast sandwich and a mediocre one, and there is a reason I go to BKD almost every weekend. Their bagels are DELICIOUS, and both the menu options and the "CYO" (create your own) are always on point. Very consistent, very fresh and so delicious. I really love that they have the impossible vegan sausage as an option, and it's always cooked properly. My 12 year old daughter, who is a fairly picky eater, always asks for BKD on the weekends, too. That's another vote in the "winner" category for this place. My recommendation is ORDER AHEAD ONLINE - it's always packed on the weekend to order in person. If you order ahead online, it's always ready, still hot, and waiting for you when you walk in. I don't understand why people cannot follow simple instructions. A good bagel is toasted well done practically burned when it's served. I asked the girl at the cashier to make sure it's well done. You can have my permission to burn it if you need to. The bagel that I got wasn't even toasted. Following simple request like "please burn my fucking bagel." It's not too much to ask for except a girl in the background we're chatting and giggling to each other and not reading the instruction on the receipt that they got in the kitchen. It's not rocket science folks just put it in the toaster two or three times so it's nice and crispy on the outside. Ashburn bagels follows those instructions without any issues. What should have been a satisfying visit to BKD Bagels in Brambleton turned sour when my Big Tuna on a Garlic Bagel arrived severely burnt, leaving it nearly inedible. I brought this to the attention of staff member Laura, who immediately stepped in to make things right. Unfortunately, Soma, a kitchen staff member, responded rudely and made the situation unnecessarily uncomfortable. She complained about remaking the order, repeatedly rolled her eyes and scowled at me from across the counter, and even suggested only giving me half a bagel since I had already started eating the original one. She then went into the kitchen and discussed the situation with the other kitchen staff, who soon came out and began looking over at my table which made the entire experience even more awkward and uncomfortable. As a government employee already navigating the stress of the shutdown, this interaction was especially disappointing. It has made me hesitant to return or spend money here again. That said, I do want to acknowledge Laura! She revisited my table to apologize not only for the burnt bagel but also for Soma's behavior. Went to the new Brambleton location recently. I was excited with the idea that a real bagel shop was finally opened in the Ashburn area. Well, not so. Location is nice, comfortable seating and atmosphere but the bagels were dry, not toasted properly and who cuts a bagel in fourths without asking. The bagels also seem small to me and not chewy on the inside like I expect. For what you get, the prices are too high. And no pumpernickel bagel, seriously? No reason to go back, sorry. read more

The bagels are delicious and the bagel sandwiches might be my love language. the extensive coffee bar adds something special. it's clean inside and the decorations are so cute. There are thoughtful details outside, including a playhouse, small tables for the little ones and Adirondack chairs for a comfy experience. The first time I visited my experience wasn't all that great, but it was the start of the second week that they were open and they were really busy so I chalked things up to them just opening. This was my second time visiting, Thursday morning (10/9) at around 7:30 am. They were not busy. Definite room for improvement here: 1. Customer Service - Greeting and welcoming customers should take priority over your personal conversations with other employees. A simple "Welcome, how can I help you?" is all that is required here. I should not be left standing there waiting while you discuss your litany of personal issues with your coworker before you even acknowledge me as a paying customer. 2. Toasting - I don't order my bagel toasted because it tends to turn the cream cheese into a soupy mess. It is a personal preference. Toasting here is mandatory as the bagel I received was ice cold. Not room temperature, but ice cold through and through. No way the cream cheese was the cause, it bordered on being frozen and half thawed. I am not saying the bagel was frozen, but they definitely did not get it from the bin of fresh bagels they have sitting out behind where you order. 3. Cream Cheese - The volume on the bagel was so much that it must have been applied with a trowel. The amount sticking out the sides which fell off or I ended scrapping off bordered on comical. No way to eat it without making an absolute mess. I get that it is somewhat arbitrary the appropriate amount of cream cheese to smear on a bagel, but this bordered on the absurd and I ended up throwing more than half of it away. 4. Ambiance - This is the best part of the whole experience, it is big, bright, and very comfortable. Beautifully done. 5. Conclusion - The food and service need work for sure. All and all, I honestly would not go back. The bagels at Panera are fresher, tastier and the service is better. I had such high hopes for this place, I want a local bagel shop, sadly this is not it. read more
