Lynne does beautiful work, and she works with each couple to customize the invitations. When I compared the costs to what online invitations would have been, the difference was minor, especially considering that I was getting something customized for me versus something that a million other brides could purchase. I had so much fun looking over paper and designs with Lynne. She is very personably and easy to work with. I only had one minor complaint. I felt that time frames were never quite what I expected. I would be given an estimate but it seemed to always end up being an extra week+. Nothing got out late, but for my invitations, I really wanted to send them 6 weeks out because everyone had to travel, but they didn't go out until 4 weeks before the event. I definitely would recommend Inviting Company, but be very firm on the timelines you are expecting. While my stress was unfounded as everyone got their invites with enough time to RSVP, had there been better communication regarding the time frame, I would have been more relaxed. The invitations ended up being the thing I was the most stressed over, though, in all honesty, this was very likely my fault for not being assertive enough and laying out my expectations as clearly as possible. In the end, the work was gorgeous, the invitations were unique, and they were exactly what my husband and I wanted.

Piro printed my wedding invitations in 2007 and did a great job for a reasonable price…read more This is a little hole-in-the-wall shop with no parking of its own, so you'll need to find a street spot. Inside, it's nothing fancy, though they do have several huge volumes of sample invitations to browse. I picked a cream colored stock with some pearlescent designs on the border and a fairly standard calligraphy font. The invitations were printed on time, without errors, and looked exactly how I had envisioned them. You can't really ask for more! My parents have also used them on several occasions and been happy with the results. I know that the pricing for my invitations was competitive, and significantly lower than some other options. I think because they do not specialize in weddings, you don't pay a premium above the normal market cost for a print job. I know Piro has also printed the booklets for some events I've attended in the city of Somerville, and those have also been good quality.

I had my heart set on Pocket Invitations since we began planning our wedding 14-months earlier. I searched through hundreds, perhaps thousands, of options online & finally found the one single pocket invitation I'd been searching for all along. It was perfect. I purchased the template for the invitation & all four inserts from an independent Graphic Design Artist online. The templates were easy enough to edit & I sent them off to the printer, months ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, the files weren't formatted properly for them to use! I contacted the person I had purchased them from and she was no help. A month or two of trying to figure it out ourselves left us hopeless and I was devastated. Our printing company reached out to Christine at TAG Design, a professional colleague, for help & she was able to get our Invitations and Inserts properly formatted to print! We were over-the-moon. Fast forward another month... I had been emailing the woman I purchased the Invitation Template from for a few days, asking her if she could update the colors on existing Programs and Seating Cards she advertised online to the Wine & Gold for me to purchase (which she told me she could do before I made the initial purchase). I waited & waited for a reply. Nothing. We're now 10 days before our wedding & we are still without Programs or Seating Cards. Working with Christine previously, she had offered to help us with anything else we needed. A bit frantically, we emailed Christine & told her our situation. We knew this was a tall order & even told her we could go without the Programs... we just really needed the Seating Cards. We chatted on the phone for about two hours & emailed her a few different Etsy formats we liked. She asked us to send her the Invitation again and she quickly designed two options for both Programs and Seating Cards for us to review. I'm talking quickly like within hours. These designs were EXACTLY what we were hoping for & we actually preferred them to the templates I had my heart set on originally. And Christine got to work! We're now 6 days before the wedding. The Priest we hired for our ceremony experienced an unforeseen and unfortunate medical issue - he was no longer able to perform our ceremony. (Yes, he's ok!). His name, however, was being printed on 150 Wedding Programs. Frantically, again (Christine, why do I only contact you frantically?), I texted Christine to STOP THE PRESS! She was about 1/3 of the way through our Programs, so I asked her to remove the Priest's name from the remainder of them. (I really really REALLY didn't want his name on any of the Programs, but Christine was doing us a huge favor by getting these done, and in record time, I wasn't going to create more work for her.) We spent the rest of the weekend searching for a new Officiant and by late Sunday evening, we had a new Priest. Christine reached out to me Monday morning about 7:30am to see if we had a new Officiant's name, which I provided her with. I also told her that he rearranged our ceremony and the Order of Events on the Program was also now updated. Again, I told her to not worry about what had already printed and just to update the remainder of the order with the new information. Christine reached out to us two days later to let us know that all 200 Seating Cards and 150 Programs were ready to be picked up. Unbelievable. We headed to her home to pick them up and we were floored when we got there and saw the love she put into our wedding. She went a million miles past the "extra mile" to not only do what we asked, but exceed every expectation we had of her. Christine went out of her way to reprint ALL of the Programs that had the previous Officiant's name & Order of Events on them and also created several options of "Mr. and Mrs." Seating cards for our Sweetheart Table. I cried at her studio. And a lot more when we got home. What should have been an incredibly stressful experience - and trust me, I was ready to be let down - wasn't. Even writing this review, I'm crying again. We are so appreciative. We continue to receive so many compliments on our Invitations, Programs and Seating Cards. Many of our guests said the stationary really set the tone for our wedding day and they knew, from the beginning, it was going to be over the top and elegant. Christine, we have you to thank for all of it. You continually saved the day from the very beginning and all the way to wedding day. You are a gift & a thousand "thank you's" wouldn't adequately express our gratitude.

After tiredly looking online for the perfect invitations on sites like minted.com I realized it was not going to cut it for what I needed. I emailed Rob and within an hour he had responded back. My husband and I went to his studio in the South End and looked over designs he did and knew we wanted to work with him. Throughout the creative process, Rob was extremely responsive and was able to completely customize our invitation, information card, and rsvp card to exactly what we wanted. If I wanted the letters in a word capitalized, or spacing of a graphic changed, he would send the edit quickly for us to view. When we got our invitations off the press, we were so happy. The letter press invitations were absolutely beautiful and elegant. We received so many compliments on them after sending them out. The price was very reasonable and worth every penny. He was always incrediblely responsive (usually replied within a few hours!!!), and was so creative, and was always kind even when we sent 500 obnoxnious emails switching up the design. We had so many compliments on the letterpress and design work, and honestly, our stuff was absolutely awesome. I can't help but brag about it, because everything turned out soooooo good. It was fairly simple to find, though we did use a GPS, and on-street parking was free. The space that I was in was typical gallery fare: white walls, gray floor, good lighting. The people were really nice and friendly, and were genuinely happy to see new faces. They welcome any media as long as you are respectful of the other people and the space, so that meant that there were people oil painting, using charcoal, and also the standard set of graphite. The fee was just $10 for the two hours and I am fairly certain that it all went to the model. They had booked a great model too. I could fill this space with stories of the models that I had in art school, but I think that Yelp wouldn't be too happy with that, let's just say they left much to be desired. This model, however, was great. I am looking forward to going back, hopefully, next week. They also have short-pose Mondays which are kind of intriguing to me. As for the rest of the space and other stuff that they do, I can't vouch for it yet; this was my first time here. I will say that I am looking forward to exploring all that they have to offer and that if this was any indication then whatever I find, I will most likely like, if not love.
