Always love going to bjs wholesale club. First of all they sell the cheapest gas in Massachusetts. All day everyday. Also the staples one needs are also a great deal...milk, bread. Yes they sell in large quantities but I believe the savings on the everyday items I use are definitely worth membership cost. I'm leaving a five-star review because my experience at BJ's Optical was fantastic! Gina was incredibly helpful, kind, and one of the best employees I've met in a long time. She provided me with a lot of information, was very thorough, and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend coming here to get your glasses and take care of all your optical needs. Gina was the best! I'm also giving a five-star review to BJ's store overall. The food is good, the prices are decent, and I've had consistently positive experiences. I've seen a lot of negative reviews, but honestly, many of them seem personal rather than actually about the store. If you're having a bad day, that's not a reason to leave a one-star review. If you don't know how to manage your money, that's not BJ's fault--that's on you. And if you're already in a bad mood, don't take it out on the employees. Every time I go, it's been a pleasure. The girl in customer service is awesome (I wish I remembered her name), and all the employees I've encountered have been polite, hardworking, and professional. I've never had a rude experience, and they always greet customers with good manners. Drove in to BJs to get gas and picked up a huge screw in one of our brand new tires. While waiting for the tow truck to come change the tire, I went into the store to talk to the manager and let her/him know that they might want to check out the lot for debris and etc because the very same thing happened to us last year! I was directed to Eric, the General Manager, who was incredibly friendly and solicitous. Eric came out to the car with me to see the tire and was there when the tow truck arrived. He immediately offered to pay for the tire repair and the cost of the tow truck service. He also asked if I needed to do any shopping while we were here and, when I told him that we'd come to buy a replacement for my Bluetooth headphones (our puppy destroyed them earlier in the day), he found the replacement item, walked me through checkout, and charged them to the store! Then he walked me back to our car, made sure he had our names and phone number, and insisted that we let him know about whatever costs we incurred. Obviously, this is an amazing example of generosity. But more than that, it's incredible customer service. Thanks Eric! read more

I like BJ's for a verity of reasons, one of which is their milk which is now private labeled for them by Land-O-Lakes I believe, even though it is 1%, to me, its like drinking whole milk and works very well in coffee. Most recently they began to sell beer, wine and spirits with prices less than one of the major bottle shops in the area. They have several excellent Argentinian Melbec's, very good Cabernets and Merlots at varying price points. I found Carnivor, a Cabernet, for $8.99 which was a shock, having drunk it several days earlier, I was expecting a price point well into the 20's. I'm disgusted. Thank you for finally figuring out the "enter/exit" strategy of signage (Why it took several weeks of complaints is something management needs to address). After having customers walking straight towards me, going the wrong way, three times in one visit, I asked why they didn't put up a sign and I was told that "they tried that, but some people still didn't go the right direction") SERIOUSLY?? Yes, why have any rules?? 'Someone might not notice or follow directions.' On my last (recent) visit, I encountered three BJs employees WITHOUT masks over their mouths!! A staff person is tasked with directing people to a self-check register. Instead of using common sense and directing people to the safest register available (farthest from other customers), she insisted I go to one beside one being used. NOTE: there was no line at this time. No one else was waiting to use self checkout. Registers 13, 14, and 15 are in a row. 13 was in use. 14 & 15 were vacant. She told me to use 14. I insisted on using 15 (safer) as it was available and working. She then came over and said "why do I even bother telling people?" Good question. Better question: Why is BJs employing someone with no common sense! This same employee, then proceeded to move her mask from her mouth to below her chin (she was the third unmasked BJs staff I saw in this one visit. During a recent, Previous, visit there was a long line leading to check out registers. The person tasked with asking customers whether they wish to use the self check out (AGAIN) had no common sense. I was at the end of the line when she came asking people to follow her if they wanted self out. There were three available registers at the time. I followed her and the one person in front of me to the SCO area. She said she had not been asking me and that I needed to go back to the end of the line, where she followed me, passing against the line of people waiting for staffed registers, then asked if I wanted self check (already knowing I did). NOTE: she just insisted a customer (me) walk back past a long line of people (within a few feet) when the goal is "social distancing." When I mentioned to her that she needed to have her mask on properly (YES, she actually had it BELOW her mouth at this time!!) she replied, "for your information, I work in the optometry department and am just filling in for a 15 minute break." WOW!! So, she works as a health care professional, doesn't understand how to wear a mask, and thought that sounded like an acceptable excuse for this practice!! Unbelievably disgusted! DO BETTER OR MANY PEOPOE ARE HOUNG TO LEAVE FOR COSTCO. read more

Hello, First off, I apologize for the length of this review, but I feel it is necessary.  I was in your Chicopee, MA store this morning around 10am buying groceries before the impending snow storm in Western Mass. It was busier than usual for a Tuesday morning, as expected. When I went to check out there were long lines at every register. I picked one and waited. At one point I saw a cashier at one of the registers ringing people up, but her light was off. I had a man with a full shopping cart behind me that kept inching closer and closer to me so I started to veer toward the cashier to ask if she was open. Just before I got to her I noticed Register 5 next to me that I was waiting in line at was being opened. I started to move my cart to begin unloading on her belt when the man behind me mumbled something about cutting in line. It caught me off guard since I hadn't really moved much so I asked him if I had cut him and offered for him to go first if I had, as I didn't want to make anyone upset.  He replied, "No. Go ahead you bitch." I said, "Excuse me? Did you just call me a bitch?" I was so caught off guard. He then proceeded to tell me that I'm a "typical entitled bitch, spending other people's money". Confused, I asked him whose money that I was spending since I was standing there with my credit card in hand. He replied that I "was on welfare spending other people's money."  I then thought okay, this guy is judging me by my stay at home mom active-wear attire and laughed it off. I do not like confrontation and did not want this to escalate for no real reason. He had other ideas though as he continued dog cussing at me, calling me an effing bitch, a c***, and other obscenities. I finally told him that he was disgusting and I felt bad for his wife, who was standing right next to him staring off into space as if she couldn't hear a word he was saying. I think this angered him further as he got louder and more repetitive with the names. I told him again how disgusting he was and that he should never talk to a woman the way he was talking to me. I just wanted him to stop and didn't know what else to do. No one was interjecting or helping diffuse this man's attacks. Again, more name calling and screaming...all over a place in line that I had offered up.  At this point, I told him that I was not going to engage him anymore and he was gross the way he was talking. Here is where I am I extremely disappointed in the employees at the store. After I burst into tears, mortified at how I had just gotten treated by this man, screaming and berating me in front of dozens of people, my cashier (cashier #324149 from the receipt) kept mouthing "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" but did nothing else. All she had to do was take a second to flip her register light to flicker to draw attention to a manager to come over and save me, a female, alone, getting torn to shreds by an overly aggressive male two feet away. The cashier at the line he was in could have done the same thing or at least diverted his attention. But no one did. Nobody said a word. All of the other customers stood in shock at what was happening, not saying anything. Just sad, pained, sincerely mortified looks from the other (coincidentally) women wanting trying to pay for their items and go about their day. My main point is that this is 2019, and I think there should be some training as to what to do if a BJs customer is bullying other another customer. If you see something, SAY SOMETHING. My family has been loyal customers for years, and I shouldn't have to worry about my safety when I am shopping in a BJs store. I hope that the security camera footage of this incident is reviewed and used as a learning tool so that this doesn't happen to another customer without an employee stepping in. No one deserves to be treated like I was today, and as it is now, I will have a hard time going back to BJs again anytime soon. read more

They call 8am-9am "senior hour" but really all they do is turn away anyone in their 20s or younger where as anyone 30 or above is still allowed in. If you're going to not allow someone in and blame it on "senior hour" maybe you should make that stand true to your middle aged customers as well. read more

Very poor customer service in the gas station. I forgot my card and to use the bjs card had to leave my wallet? Not appropriate?? Then I went to customer service inside and they didn't seem to care? I'm seriously about to cancel my membership at this bullshit place because I had ordered a necklace and broke and went to prepare it's been almost a month month-and-a-half and nobody has ever said anything about the necklace coming back or not nobody even knows what the fuck the necklace is. Don't ever buy jewelry from this place if you never want to see your necklace again I want the manager to fuck call me and tell me what the fuck my necklaces. I have been a member since 1997. Every single time I try to log in to get the in-house coupons, I get a response which states "either your I.D. or password is incorrect. This has been going on for years. I have called and talked to just about everybody, who have helped me reset a NEW I.D. and PASSWORD every single time. I am fine until the very next time, and hear we go again, it's like (Ground Hog Day) I got to go through the same F_____ problem all over again. This Club has cost me a lot of money in coupons I lost out on because of this ongoing problem. No one, and I mean no one in your company knows how to set an I.D. and password properly. I really enjoy shopping at BJs but sometimes when I shop they are lacking employees at at the check out lines. I had a entire shopping cart full of food and other items. I had to go to self checkout and cash out. I can see self check out being viable with a few items but we had a entire cart full with heavy objects. They had no scanners for heavy items so we had to try and track down a employee and they had to come back twice because the coupons were not working. I don't understand why they can't have at least one lane open. read more
