We've never been to this location (just the one in Addison) so this was a first for us. We got there about 12:30 p.m. on a Thursday. It wasn't crowded at all, but there were a couple of tables seating large groups (one of 8, one of at least 10). I had seen their $13 lunch deals online so that's what we were looking for. My husband got chicken parm w/spaghetti, and I got the soup & salad - broccoli cheese soup and the tomato & mozzarella salad. We were both very pleased with the quality of the food, which was filling. So when the waiter came back asking what kind of cookie we wanted for our "pazookies" we were taken aback, because we were already full! The desserts were delicious. Service was slower than we had expected, but our server apologized fervently (he had one of the large groups) and we appreciated that. Happy Easter! This year we decided we didn't want to cook for Easter, instead we would go out to eat. After church we spun our random wheel for dinner and BJs was the lucky winner. We went at the perfect time around 1:30 and we were sat immediately. We had the sweetest waitress Amy who took great care of us! She had great suggestions for me because I am working hard on my making food choices. I had Sals chicken with Brussels sprouts and it was absolutely to die for. We had a coupon for a pizookie and of course it was amazing... because why else do you go to BJs. It was great time to eat because it was quiet, but full of laughter from families leaving Easter service and wanting to spend more time together. Our server Nathan J. Was terrible. Food was bad. Price did NOT match service. The appetizers, pot stickers & macaroni balls, were the only good thing about our experience. The Chicken parm and jambalaya were awful. The jambalaya was bland and nasty, the parm was weirdly tender yet rubbery, it was also somehow bland. The salad was tasty, but it's hard to mess up a salad. The desert was completely over baked and hard to eat. I had to ask for a water refill twice after my glass being empty most the meal. The server was slow. More so than any I've had before. Absolutely the worst service I've ever had. His service got increasingly worse as the restaurant emptied out. It wasn't even just our table, he was terrible with each of his tables. Other servers had to bring us our food. On top of this he was in no way friendly Genuinely thought about dining and dashing. Not one of us three have ever done such a thing. We are usually all good tippers with upwards of 20$ a tip. The service was genuinely that bad. For YEARS - and I mean YEARS - I've been ordering salads with no lettuce at your establishment. Yes, you read that right. No lettuce. I'm that person. Judge me. I've accepted my fate as the weirdo who orders deconstructed salads like some kind of vegetable anarchist. Every single time, without fail, my salad would arrive looking like it went through a blender operated by a caffeinated squirrel. TODAY, TODAY though what arrived at my table was not just a salad. It was ART. It was POETRY. It was everything I never knew I needed. Trey the bartender. This man doesn't just take my order - he CHAMPIONS it. When I give him my usual "salad with no lettuce" request, instead of just punching it into the system and forgetting about it, Trey personally walks to the kitchen like he's delivering classified documents. I'll be honest, I expected to see much worse reviews when I logged onto yelp and looked at the Plano location. We have been going to BJ's for years, but over the last few years, we have noticed a significant decline in quality of food. We had not been back in about a year, but decided to celebrate my dad's birthday there yesterday. The cheese sticks for an appetizer were lukewarm at best. My mom's salad was basically a bowl of lettuce and the chicken tasted and looked like it had been boiled or baked with no flavor. There were very few strawberries and pecans. She had to ask for extra dressing because she could not eat the salad dry and flavorless. Parmesan crusted chicken was bland. It said that it comes with the lemon butter sauce, but there was none. I could taste a hint of lemon, but the chicken itself tasted precooked and like it had been sitting around for hours. The crust was soggy. I've had this dish before, and it was not the same. My dads pizza was " ok" and my husband's fish and chips were "ok". This fish smelled fishy but he drenched it in malt vinegar. The only food that was good were the pizookes. They were delicious but they downsized their menu and cookie options. It seems like since COVID, they downsized the menu and changed their food aupplier. That however, does not explain why the food was not hot. We will not be returning. We decided to give it another shot on a whim, but we're disappointed yet again. Our waitress was great (Avery) but the food was just as I remembered it...not good! I stopped going her because the food was just underwhelming, so the only reason I returned was for a birthday gathering. I thought I'd order some simple wings, but once they brought out my husband's wings prior to mine, I knew I'd made a mistake. They were extremely dark and very much over done. Before she brought mines out, I asked her to cook them for a little less time, but she said that was standard for them to cook them to death and dry them out and make them dark. Years ago when I lived in Plano I would take my family to the BJ's Plano location and it was always a good experience. When we moved to Allen we went to the Allen BJ's and it was always excellent. Recently we moved to Wylie and since Plano was closer we went there tonight. Unfortunately it was not a good at all. Here's why, I always have the BJ's blond with my meal and the beer I received didn't look or taste like their normal blond. The color was off and it tasted more like a light beer. I sent it back with the waiter and he returned saying that the bartender said that it was a blond. I didn't drink it but still had to pay for it. As far as the meals go, I had the Smash burger and fries and my wife had chicken and rice. Mine was fine but some of her rice was hard, either not cooked or over cooked. We won't be going back to the Plano BJ's period. read more

It has been a while since we've been to a BJ restaurant so we were pleased to see one nearby where we now live. We like the variety of the menu and their beers. This visit we came for a quick lunch. My husband had the Bacon Guac Deluxe Burger which he thought was outstanding. I went for the Strawberry Field Salad with Chicken. The portion size was perfect and the combo of the items on the salad made it the perfect lunch. I have been to BJ's in California and New Mexico and I always liked them. Today I went to the one in Allen, Texas and it will be the last BJ's I will ever visit while living in Texas. The food was pathetic and the service disinterested. I complained and one of the items which I could not eat was taken off the check but our lunch was ruined. The place was empty at lunch time. After this awful experience I do not wonder anymore what the reason for that might have been. Lousy food at any price!!!! read more

The service was good, but we were served undercooked chicken wings that needed to be sent back. The wings are big and were good when we got our 2nd order. The server let 2 people try beers in a small cup prior to ordering from their full menu. We enjoyed our time and the food came fast since there weren't many people there. I've been to this location several times since I moved here in 2005. I'm not a fan of BJ's, bc I wasn't too impressed with their food. My husband wanted to try their pizza, so I went there to watch him eat. I ordered sweet tea, but it wasn't sweet, so I added my husband's lemonade, but it wasn't much better, so I gave up on it. My husband's lemonade was sour, so he got DP instead, but there was no carbonation, so he had me go up there to get a Pepsi, but still carbonation, so I asked this nice lady(Her name is Dalia/Delia), she got the manager for us and she got him one from the bar and it was little better. As for pizza(deep dish), it looked amazing, but my husband said it was ok. Besides, he needed something to take to work later. Our server was cordial, but to me, he wasn't very approachable, so I asked Dalia for stuff and she took good care of us!!! I wished she was our server and I gave her all the cash I had, bc she was THAT amazing!!! If Dalia is server, I'd come here, so I can sit at her section regardless of if I like the food or not!! I was kind of disappointed that we were charged for drinks after all that, but that's ok! It's like they know the food is not that good, so they don't ask if everything was ok and just walk away!
