We were seated right away however, our waiter took quite some time as she was dealing with a previous table that had to split their bill a bunch of ways, which is totally understandable It's been a while since I've been to this restaurant. The menu has changed a little bit but still offers extensive menu options. Can't go wrong with the pizzas here they are known for their Pazooki's, which is a dessert with a baked cookie and ice cream . Cookies and cream is our favorite. We went to BJ's tonight to celebrate my son's birthday and unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. Our waiter took our order and then basically disappeared. When our appetizers arrived, we weren't given plates and had to flag down a busboy. When our meals came out, he never checked on us. One person didn't receive the au jus for their French dip and couldn't even eat his meal. We had to keep asking other staff members for help because our waiter was nowhere to be found. I also ordered another glass of wine that never came. After waiting 20-30 minutes, I finally had to stand up and ask another waiter for our bill and boxes. Even getting the free birthday dessert took another 15 minutes. When our waiter finally brought it, he said he had been on break -- apparently with no one covering his tables. Initially I was excited to see Prime Rib entree on a Sunday afternoon. So I placed my order for a medium rare slice with a baked potato (with sour cream, chives and butter); and a side of roasted asparagus. What was delivered was Caesar salad, a medium rare slice of prime rib with enormous amount of fat. The meat was definitely seasoned well as it each bite tasted peppers and herbs. No horse radish and au jus were included. It was delivered warm. The baked potato was practically bigger than the supposedly 15 ounce slice of prime rib. The roasted asparagus was not included in the delivered food. A Caesar salad was in the package. The croutons were soggy, definitely not crunchy. When we arrived, we were seated fairly quickly; however, we weren't informed beforehand that the fryers were not working. Because of this, many of the items we initially wanted to order were unavailable. We ended up ordering the mini spicy pig pizza, which was pretty good, and the Pizookie trio, which is always delicious. I saw an ad on TV for the $13 pizookie deal during lunch, I think it's weekday only deal but not entirely sure. So I came here for a weekday lunch, it wasn't very crowded. We didn't have a wait and was seated immediately, plenty of booth seating. This is located in the shopping complex with the Target and Dicks, near the SF Livermore Outlets. Parking is pretty easy and straightforward. I ordered the $13 pizookie deal with the chicken parmesan pasta. The chicken parmesan was a good portion for lunch, I enjoyed it. Before we finished our lunch, the server was good and asked for the order for my cookie. I decided on the caramel pizookie, this isn't the normal size one. It is the smaller one but perfect for lunch. It was delicious. If I am ever craving a pizookie with a decent lunch special, I definitely would recommend this place if they still have the deal going on. If you ever been to BJs before, the lighting isn't overly bright like other restaurants. I feel like it's on the darker side but still fine. read more

I used to be a huge fan of BJ's, especially their pizza, which I always recommended to all my friends as a must-try dish. However, after visiting this location today, I was really disappointed. I will not comment too much on the service since it is probably handled by young staff who are still gaining experience, but the pizza, which I care about the most, was absolutely terrible. The toppings were overbaked, and even the crust was so hard that it hurt my teeth when I bit into it. My wife and I frequent Livermore at least once every two months to do some shopping. Today we decided to try this BJ's location. Having had great experiences at other BJ locations we were expecting no other outcome. To start the location has plenty of parking around the restaurant. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. Plenty of tv screens to catch sports. Today it was not busy plenty of seats. We sat at the bar on a top table. Our waitress was Taylor. She was very nice and friendly. But that is where the pleasantries stopped. Taylor was not attentive. First we asked for water that we never received. We actually asked Taylor twice for water. We asked another waiter for water and had the same outcome no water. We finally got the water half way through our meal. My wife ordered a cheese burger well done. When it got to the table it was about medium. Definitely could still see red in the meat. By the time they took it back it about another 20 minutes until she got her food back. I ordered the California Turkey Club. The club was good but the fries were cold and seemed to be the remaining fries in the fried, Just pieces of fries. So I'm that spirit we called and spoke with the manager, we were told that they were going to get back to us. They never followed up. From the beginning to end the service was flawed. From getting the kids drinks wrong to the food. I spent more time going to the bar asking her to fix the issues with the order then talking to the waitress who was scarcely there. On Thursday and most of the times I get this Pizookie, the strawberry puree is not the correct consistency and it's more like strawberry water. Went to BJs last night to get a few drinks and watch the game. The bar was pretty open, but the person behind the bar - Patrick D - absolutely horrific. Completely ignored us from the minute we sat down at the bar, but continued to pay attention to and serve the Caucasian customers. We kept trying to flag him down to order drinks, and he kept ignoring us. Management 100% needs to address this - awful customer service. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but after two disappointing visits to BJ's Bar & Grill, I felt I had no choice. We waited about 15 minutes before our waiter even greeted us. We ordered a Dr Pepper, a water, and a spooky cocktail -- but were given a Diet soda instead, and our cocktail never came. Unfortunately, our waiter didn't come back around for about 45 minutes, so we couldn't even say anything until then. For food, we ordered a burger and a pasta dish. The burger was okay, but the pasta was undercooked and the sauce tasted overwhelmingly like broccoli. When a second waiter finally came to check on us, we mentioned that our cocktail never arrived, but by then we were just ready to go. We canceled the drink and ordered a Pizookie to go, which they kindly comped but when we got home, the dessert was a complete mess. The only real positive was that management offered extra plates with our appetizer, which we appreciated. I notice from the photo that they forgot to put the chimichurri sause on the steak. 3 Course Meal with Dessert, 15oz Med-Rare Prime Rib was just okay. The sides I chose was grilled asparagus and broccoli, both were good. The prime rib had no flavor what so ever not even salt. That was the complain I had on my last review which was burgers. She showed us to our table and the bench seat was covered in bread crumbs she watched as me and my kids dusted them off and she said nothing and walked away. This BJ's kind of blows. Like most American eateries like these, the quality of food is lacking while the prices may be astonishing. Our most recent visit here offered a good facade of a fun dining experience and really sold the idea that the meal would be one to leave a good impression (we definitely had an impression, just not the good kind). As we parked in the awkwardly tight lot, we were met with a welcoming BJ's Restaurant towering us. When we entered, the darkness of the brewhouse was definitely felt but among the many TV monitors, lamps, and windows, it seemed enough light was coming through to remind you it was still daylight out. We were greeted by some staff members who seemed to be in the midst of a shift change due to their frantic movements (although this was likely the first shift being that it was just before noon). We were also informed that we would have two waiters to help get us started and given the size of our party (15), it seemed reasonable. We were eventually seated where kids and full menus were waiting for us. Unfortunately, they indicated they ran out of crayons for the kids to entertain themselves with (I don't understand how you run out of crayons despite being at the ready to offer kids menus with activities printed on them). Furthermore, it seemed the menus the adults were perusing also had some discrepancies (some menus listed more details about the daily specials and some did not). The lack of standardized quality was a turn off from the start. What was a nice surprise was that the wait staff offered the children a kids snack plate that had a small serving of fresh fruit and a pack of goldfish crackers. It kept them occupied and happy as we all decided what to order for our meal. BJ's have some great specials for each day of the week. As we came in on the weekend, we decided to take advantage of the three course meal that comes with a slab of prime rib, a soup or salad, and a pizookie dessert for about 35 dollars. If you're looking to dine out without breaking the bank, do consider checking out their other daily specials as you may be able to save on salad, pizza, and drinks! We also ordered the great white deep dish pizza. The waiter asked which size and we confirmed to get the large one which supposedly would serve about 10 slices. We ended up never getting this pizza - apparently, it was never put into the tab. Very perplexing but I suppose that's what happens when you have two waiters taking orders from two separate ends of the table. Soup - we chose the clam chowder and it was a nice big bowl enough to be shared between two people. It came with a bag of oyster crackers and topped with some green onions. The temperature was great but it was a bit salty. Entree - we asked for the prime rib to come out as medium rare but it came out more like medium. Fortunately it was served with a small cup of 'au jus' to add some juice back into each bite. It was also paired with the horseradish dip. It comes with two sides and we settled on roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes. The asparagus were fine except for some of the stem ends that probably should have been shaved off as they were too tough for consumption. The mashed potatoes were a bit salty but definitely creamy. Pizookie - we ended up getting the fudge brownie for one meal and the chocolate chip for the other. The fudge brownie was delicious and topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and cherries. It was super moist and if you're a chocolate lover, you'll enjoy it! The chocolate chip one was decent - the chocolate chips could have been a bit more chocolatey. After we were all done with our entree, we rarely saw the wait staff come by. No refills on waters nor did they check in about boxes or fulfilling the pizookie portion of our three course meal. We had to flag another staff member, who was neither one of our original wait staff to take the pizookie order and provide us with boxes to take out the leftovers. I don't think I've experienced any service like this at an established restaurant like BJ's; it was subpar/substandard when it comes to customer service. Overall, the food was decent given that we held really low expectations for BJ's quality of food, and at the price point we paid for the special, it seemed fair; if we were to pay full price for their other food options, I don't think I would have found this place very appealing at all. The service is abysmal and could use a bit of re-evaluation; it wouldn't be fair for anyone to travel all this way with a large party, ordering a great deal of food, and barely be taken care of after the order was placed. I doubt all BJ's are like this one but for any first timers, a visit here would have turned them off from BJ's anywhere else unless it was the only place to grab a bite. Even then, perhaps traveling a bit further might be your better option. I'd consider revisiting another BJ's to check out the other deals but otherwise, it'd be a hard sell. read more

Came into BJ's tonight after a terrible experience at Lazy dog. I was with my 2 boys and it was turning out to be a frustrating night. We sat down and I was informed by the waiter that the small deep dish on pzookie menu. The kids were disappointed. This is when our night turned around by the the best BJ's manager act of kindness. I was greeted by the General Manager Grant Henley and received some of the best service I have experienced in a long time. We were struggling as vegetarians and had quite a few questions about the menu, Grant took the time to sit down and go over options and tour the menu with us. So super cool that was hands the best experience in a restaurant in Bay Area (quoting my 14 year old). He, along with his amazing staff, created a fantastic and memorable experience for me and my two boys. I have never seen my boys this happy after a stressful start to that evening.
