Homemade tuna salad on thick, soft wheat bread was delicious.

I loved this place and the wonderful ladies behind the counter. I found myself in beautiful Buffalo on business and this seemed like a good lunch spot. My homemade tuna on thick, soft wheat bread was delicious. Great cup of coffee too.

    The Abbondonza Sandwich!

My sister had her wedding reception over the weekend in Buffalo, MN, and as my aunts and uncle were eating, they just kept talking about this amazing looking sandwich that they saw in town and how we had to hurry up and leave by 7:30 to order the sandwich. OMG, wow, what a sandwich...it's called the Abbodonza (Abundance), BJ's dream sandwich: turkey, ham, salami, swiss cheese, tomato, sliced egg, bermuda onion and fresh spinach layered between crepes with light mayonnaise and topped iwth Parmesan cheese. Served with kettle chips and a pickle --all for $7.99!!! Check out the pics. Crazy, huh? I almost didn't want to eat the sandwich and just frame it on the wall. There was difficulty eating the sandwich...nonetheless, not bad! And while you're there, another must is BJ's Kahlua Chocolate Chip Cake --HEAVEN! The pies look amazing too. Oh, man, I just want to go back and eat everything....

    My $18 meal. What?

So had to come to buffalo for the dmv and thought I would a local place a chance. Um? I think place is a little over priced for standard food. I got half a peanut butter sandwich, 3 ball meatball sub, 2 bags of chips, 2 drinks, some soup for $18. I was like holly shit. The thing that sucks if you use a credit card you are required to tip because they use an iPad deal that requires it and I didn't feel like I need to tip for counter service. It has a nice atmosphere. And they had locals coming in and out during lunch. So they seem to do alright. But when you can go to Jimmy Johns and get a better product that is less expensive. That is where I will keep on going when I am back in town.

    Chicken Salad Sandwich

3 stars. Don't get me wrong this place was nice, solid home cook food but nothing amazing. Sandwiches are HUGE! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it tasty, but abit dry. Ordered the Sweet n' Spicy chili. Good chili..but no spicy factor at all. The bad? Prices aren't exactly cheap but you do get alot of food. Once we ordered our food, the entire staff went outside for a smoke break. Standing right by the front door in their aprons. Com'On guys, not exactly appealing for customers. I'd go back, because it was solid cafe food. For the reviews giving this 5 stars, where else you people eating?

    Thanks for A great sandwich!

However, after being here a handful of times, I've experienced pretty much the same level of customer service with each visit. Walk in, stand there for a bit without being greeted while watching the woman finished her task, wait for her to be ready for me to place my order, and kinda end up feeling like I'm bugging her by doing so. Not welcoming or seeming happy by my presence. (Not that I'm someone to be excited about by any means, but like... I don't know. I'm a customer trying to support a local business?) The first time this happened, I tried to just shake it off and assume this person had a crazy day, been working hard and just 'can't even' at this point. Just wanna give the benefit of the doubt, because I'm not exactly a people person either. However, after my fourth or fifth time now, I've had this same experience where I for some reason feel like I should be apologizing to her for ordering. I don't know, man. The food is top notch. I love it. But I guess I'm disappointed with the lack of any bit of enthusiasm whatsoever, and the level of awkwardness I feel from the staff because of that. (?) I'll likely keep ordering food from Greenrock, because like I said, it's definitely great. Just hoping the customer service part will improve.
