You Can't visit the birds like we used to years ago and the gal wanted me to buy pounds of food. I only wanted some samples because my rescue cockatiel is not adventurous with trying new food. I'm glad I didn't get more because he won't eat most of it. This used to be my go too place 20? Years ago. I hope she's able to stay open as long as she wants to be. She seemed a little unhappy I didn't purchase more. I'm sure sales are hard now with online ordering. Maybe if she made it more fun to go in there'd be more visitors. read more

Bev once again was amazing with my crabby African Grey, Gizmo. And Bella, my friends Umbrella Cockatoo. She wrapped Gizmo like a pro and started trimming & filing. Gizmo's head popped out from under the towel, and she bit Beverly. I'm so sorry Bev, at least it was just a nip, not a full on bite. Just a warning shot, as you said . Within 2 minutes Gizmo was rolled free into her cage , promptly shook off with a "woo, holy shit" And NO I did not teach my bird to have a potty mouth. Gizmo is 43. I have had her since I was 8yo and she had just hatched. So she has an immense vocabulary! Bella was next. She went a little easier. I was able to get a better look at her. When she had first come to my house Friday, I thought to myself, yep girlfriend needs a bath! And Bev said the same thing today. She doesn't like the spray bottle per her owner. So she has to go in the shower with me. I have ALS, so that will be interesting She had her nails trimmed and filed by Bev and did amazing. No screaming or biting! Super Mello. My friend Rene, put her back in her cage herself. It was $11, for EACH , a Grey and a Umbrella. So $22 Total. That is just for NAIL trims. And just as a reminder Bev sells the top food brands. She also ships, which is awesome for me as I have ALS and live almost in Camas,WA. I don't really drive anymore. My transportation caregiver that gets me around during the week. She and I have become really good friends and she is the one who brought me out today, thank goodness. Gizmo, my Grey, had prison shanks for claws, and Bella could catch her own fish in the Lewis River with her Talons. There is no longer a Parrot store in Vancouver. Finally a bird store that's clean, ethical, and has everything my feathered babies need! Bought a sweet little cockatiel from Beverly that she hatched, and we couldn't be more happy with the service and supplies received. She remembered things that I almost forgot to grab before leaving (almost forgot the darn pellets), and gave me her own advice on handling and care for a young little bird. She also offers great deals on toys, EXCEPTIONAL deals on food/treats (some going for as low as 1.99 a pound. It's even made at the store-- can it get better than that?), and is extremely well versed in bird talk and knows what she's doing. With the way she handles the birds, you can see she genuinely cares and loves them all deeply. Gabby is amazing as well, they're both pleasant and very easy to talk to. This bird store is wonderful! I love the products and toys that it offers which are unique and keep my bird busy! I just picked up my Indian ring neck after boarding her for 4 days with Beverly at BiZee Bird Store and I am so pleased with the way she took care of our bird! She was quick to answer any questions and ask about what kind of foods and nuts my bird would enjoy while I was away. She was very kind and let us pick her up in the last five minutes of store hours because our return flight got delayed and she understood how much we missed her! I love this place. The owner, is very knowledgeable and super sweet. I live really close to a bird store in portland but I always feel more welcome and informative after going to Bizee bird store. So I will continue going to her. She cut my cockatiel nails in less than 5 mins. And looked him over for me. I initially wanted to get hand raised birds from her but I fell in love with a bird in Vancouver. Anyways When I was waiting for a hand raised bird from her she made sure my kids were not the ones who just wanted the bird and it was a whole family affair since birds are fragile animals. You can tell she cares about the well being of each bird and not just for sales. She wants her bird owners to be well educated and responsible. Which I think is awesome. This is how bird shops and other pet shops should operate. Just only down size is she is so far from us!! Haha read more

What an amazing find. I was looking for 2 female birds but no idea what kind. we are snowbirds so needed birds that could adjust to same cage, different locations. I ended up with parakeets. Rescued, no taming or training. they are calm birds but have been here less than 24 hours. Beverly was so informative. She had the cage I wanted and picked out the toys and food she knew they enjoyed. All this while trying to fix a computer problem remotely. So glad I did not have to ship or purchase from big box store. Very, very pleased. Played pickup toys with a cockatoo for awhile. Does "Polly" want a cracker? For those who have feathered friends, this exotic avian store would cater all your needs from cages, food, toys, grooming and boarding! The prices are reasonable and they offer more items catered to birds than you would find at your typical Petco or PetSmart. The bird store is located in the heart of Central Beaverton, but more South, towards the residential area. If you're near the Beaverton Library and park, you're close by. BiZee Bird Store is pretty awesome! Sometimes I come here to purchase some toys or food for my 12 year old Solomon Island Eclectus, named Kobe (And Yes, I named him after Kobe Bryant). Although Kobe isn't living with me in Oregon, I send a care package here and there - back home to LA where my parents are caring for him. (Yes, he's spoiled). Sometimes I miss seeing him, so I'd come by here and look at other types of parrots that just hanging out. The owner doesn't mind that I interact with the birds (no touching though since they may bite!) But they are so cute and friendly! It's delightful when the parrots chat with you! I've chatted with Beverly (the owner) a few times about caring for these feathered friends. She's got some great advice and loves to hear about your own experiences with them as well. Beverly is very charismatic, friendly and quite helpful. Keep in mind that some of the streets are one way in this neck of the woods. In addition, parking is on the street or a nearby parking lot shared with a church. For those who have a "Polly" or their own "Kobe", I'd recommend Bizee Bird Store for all your feathered friend foods and finds! read more

Owner is very knowledge about the birds she sells. She can even get hand raised birds upon request. I'd avoid purchasing one of the birds in the store because they are very loud when you get them home. My Story: Bought two parakeet from this store. One was hand raised and the other from the store. The hand raised one was an angle. Perfect little bird. Nice, gentle with a soft song. Decided to get it a friend since it was in a cage by itself. The second one was living in the store for two long and learned some bad habits. It leaned car alarm sounds which isn't the most pleasant sound in the world. It squawked constantly that it learned from the parrots it was around. Finally, teaching these neat tricks to the hand raised one. The parakeets became so loud that they could be heard at the end of the apartment hallway that is 6 doors down. They became so damn loud that finally had to give them away because they would scream over the radio and tv. Keep your distance from the larger birds because they will bite and draw blood. If they do bite, push into the beak to make it let go. I only learned this after the parrot bit the hell out of my finger. I should have been paying attention and not trust the owner who said, "It's a nice parrot, you can handle it." Damn bird bit me. If you're after a loud bird that will probably bite you, this is the place to go. Of course this is based on my experience, other experiences may vary. read more

I bought a GCC a few months ago from Beverly. My first time in her shop. The shop is clean and birds appear well cared for. While I did experience some of the quirky mannerisms of the store owner, I did interpret them a bit differently. I will say straight out that I've never met a caring bird breeder who wasn't quirky. Bird people are just a different kind of people. She does push sales in an old-fashioned way at times. She can seem distracted as well, but as a mother of developmentally disabled adults, I have learned to observe people's feelings without the filter of my feelings first. So when I thought she was not listening to me at some point, I realized she was taking a moment to say goodbye to the GCC she hand-raised and was selling to me. She didn't just stick the GCC in a box like merchandise. I realized she bonds deeply to each of her babies. The store is not a cold corporation but a traditional mom and pop style vibe. Meaning, most mom and pop shops I've ever been to or worked for have lots of quirks so it's something to keep in mind when you go. I think if you shop here, you have to think about your ultimate goal. You're most likely there for a bird or specialized services (nail trimming, boarding, etc). The vibe isn't a modern box pet store with uniformed, marginally knowledgeable employees selling traumatized undomesticated birds. If you are there for the best hand-raised and sweetest bird as a companion, then Beverly is amazing. My GCC is the the sweetest, most gentle and loving bird I've ever had right from the get go. Yeah, so I bought some extra things my bird would need anyway. I was grilled about what kind of cage I had and she was worried about the home my Olive was going to so asked many questions in terms of being set up in her new home. However, if you pay attention, she's really concerned about each bird she raised. I have 3 dogs at home that required lots of questions, contracts, etc before I could take them home. It's reassuring that there is a sense of care about these birds. Many places don't. One thing to take away from my review is Beverly has a gift for raising loving birds. That's the bottom line if you're looking for one that will be a well-adjusted and loving companion. read more

I've been to all of the parrot stores in the area, and Bizee Bird is the ONLY store I will return to. Beverly has been exceptionally kind and knowledgeable every time I've visited or called the store. I have boarded my two birds here 3 times now, and the care has been excellent. I'm so grateful to know that I can leave town, and not have to worry about the care of my birds. Last Xmas I called the store because I was worried about the birds, and the store clerk literally put Lois on the phone so that she could tell me "peek-a-boo." That tells me Bizee Bird cares about BOTH birds, and customers. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I disagree with the fact that Bizee Bird breeds birds, or sells them from local breeders. I don't think any parrot breeding for the pet trade is ethical, and I wish the business would switch to re-homing rescue birds only. read more

She has a wonderful fresh supply of food and all kinds of toys, and if she does not have what you are looking for, she will get it for you. The woman who owns this shop has a heart of gold, and most of her love is for the birds. I've boarded my cockatiel here twice, both times she was reassuring and understanding of my concerns about my little guy either stressing himself out or forgetting me. If you need a place to board your bird, come here. It's very affordable. She also sells bulk bird-food, which i highly recommend buying. Best bird store in Oregon. Very clean, socialized birds, wide variety of unique reasonably priced toys, and lots of food options. The organic bird foods she carries are cheaper than ordering online which is awesome. The owner is very nice and welcoming and did a great job clipping my birds nails. I was nervous as my Meyer's is a nervous girl but Beverly quickly and calmly gave her a pedicure with no distress. My son adores this store too and is in love with the resident cockatoo. He asks on a regular basis if we can visit. Sadly we live pretty far out so we can't come in as often as we'd like. I've also checked out the Bird Hut in Portland and it was dirty looking, run down and crowded. I like the Bizee bird store much better. It's clean and bright and I wouldn't hesitate to board my birds here if the need arises. read more

Having owned birds my entire life, I have been to many bird stores. This one, by far, was the most uncomfortable; for both me and my bird. I called early in the day and mentioned needing my bird's beak trimmed, and I should have listened to my instinct when the owner rudely lectured me on how birds shouldn't need beak grooming. I'm from out of town and had nowhere else to go at the time, so I went in anyways. From the time I walked in the experience was odd and offputting. To start, she was judgmental in how my bird reacted to being grabbed for grooming, insinuating I hadn't trained her well enough. After she got my bird toweled, she took little care in how short she was clipping her wings while somehow doing the opposite regarding her beak. I explained multiple times that my bird plays rough and it can break skin if not rounded off which should have been enough for her to listen. Instead, she passive aggressively ignored my grooming requests time and time again. My bird was screaming the entire time from how she was being handled which is not a reaction she has ever had while being groomed. In the end, my bird was not trimmed or treated how I wanted her to be but I was ready get out of there and pay. Lo and behold, the checkout experience was also a nightmare! The owner continually answered the phone for friends and talked while I was trying to finish up, prolonging an already uncomfortable experience. She charged me nearly $20 for clipping two feathers and barely touching my bird's beak which felt like a burglary but I didn't really want to interact with her anymore so I didn't say anything. As I was walking out the door, I asked for a bag to put my food & toys in and she snarkily said they 'don't do that since they switched from plastic'. I don't know how this place has good reviews but I will be reliving this experience in my nightmares. read more

Such a fun shop. Was introduced to it last summer and since then has been my go to shop for supplies. The owner is knowledgeable and the shop has beautiful birds through out, some of which are adoptable. Back in early August I had a friend from California visiting me at my home in Tigard. My friend has a number of birds as pets at home, as well as a variety of other pets. He had been trying to talk me into considering getting a bird, and asked me if there were any bird stores in the area. I recalled seeing Bizee Bird in my many travels to Beaverton, so we went to the store so we could look and he could tell me about some birds I might enjoy having as pets. We entered the store during early business hours, and the woman who met us at the door said they were in the process of cleaning cages, and wanted to know if we were interested in purchasing a bird. I told her that we were there to look and learn. In a rude tone, she replied that unless we were there to buy a bird, we were not welcome to simply come in and look around. I wondered how I could possibly decide what bird I might be interested in if I could not first look at what kind of birds she had and ask questions. My wife and I are building a nice sun room addition to our house, which will be an awesome bird room when it is finished. When I am ready to buy one or more birds, I can guarantee I will not return to this business and be treated rudely again. read more

We absolutely love going in and visiting Bev and her birdies! We buy all of our parrot food from her. She also clips our parrots wings and trims her nails. We borded our African Grey with Bev while we went on vacation, we were very happy with the care our Lucy received. Bev is always so nice to talk to and is very knowledgeable about all things bird. Her prices are very reasonable and she has a very large variety of food, supplements and toys. Terrible boarding service & owner will return your pet bird dead! Uggghhh! Terrible service and so uncaring, irresponsible and negligent to SMALL birds. Maybe all she cares are those huge expensive parrots costing thousands of dollars. Go away and search for other bird boarding places unless you want your pet bird dead. This place sucks! OUR STORY: We've boarded our 3 very healthy and active birds, a pair of parakeets and 1 parrot for a month when we went on vacation abroad. When we arrived and got our birds back, we were surprised that 1 of my parakeets died and was already decomposing inside their nesting box together with some of their eggs that the couple parakeets are trying to hatch. It looks like it was already dead for days or maybe weeks. We communicated with her (store owner) to check on the birds while we were abroad but she didn't even mentioned to us that our bird died. Before we went to her store to pick up the birds we even called her but still no mention that 1 died. That means she doesn't check on my birds if they're okay or if something was wrong with them. We called the animal control for advise about our case and they told us to just demand on a replacement of said bird so she gave us a new one. What is so sad is she cannot replace the life and memories we had with our loving parakeet who's been with us for 8 long years and is already part of our family. We've tried other bird boarding places before in California every time we go on long vacation but since we just moved to Oregon last year we thought that this store could provide the best service for our birds that other boarding places offered us. Too bad we were one of the victims of this so-called proud bird lady. Her prices are also very expensive compared to other bird stores that also offer high quality food, bird items and the prices of her birds that she's selling. Boarding prices are also expensive offering bad service and dead bird in return. Don't be fooled by her website. So go away... fly as far as you can away from this bird lady! Maybe she can give you advice on how to have your pet bird dead if you want that. I don't think she understand the meaning of loving and caring for birds. All she cares about is her business and taking money from you... not about your pet birds. This store is definitely NOT RECOMMENDED! read more

If my little parrot liked toys, he'd love the selection here. Beverly carries a large selection of toys including homemade ones, as well as rope swings, happy huts and foragers. In addition, if you'd prefer to make your own toys, she sells the bits and pieces you can do so with. For some of those big birds that chomp through wood like it's cheese, you could go broke replacing toys, so it's a money saver. I've bought food from her bulk bins for 4 years and only ONCE did I get pantry moths when she got an off batch. Compare that to PetCo or PetSmart where EVERY TIME I bought food I would get an infestation! I guess what I'm trying to say is Beverly's bird food is VERY fresh and you can trust it to be good. She also boards birds which I have had her do for mine, here and there, and she always treats her guests very nicely. The tamer guests get to have their doors open so they can play and get skritches. She will learn what they like or don't like to eat and make sure they get it. This store is loud, but honestly if you are surprised by that then you've probably never seen a bird before. The "house" macaw, Sophie, is a darling. She's got some unknown health issue that makes her feathers look like that, don't think she's plucking or mistreated. She WILL try to eat your jewelry, buttons, glasses etc because those little decorations that we people have on our faces are very attractive to birds, and they explore with their beaks. If you are averse to touching or being touched by her, though, you can still play Peekaboo with her. Seriously. Beverly also sells poop remover, which is a godsend when it comes to cage cleaning day, andi it's nontoxic to boot! Some of the items are a little more expensive than others but the quality is excellent. She sells a selection of sturdy cages as well and can order in if you don't see what you want. Basically, if this place ever closed, Beaverton would go deaf with the screeching of hundreds of heartbroken parrots. read more

This shop is really great for parrot owners! The owner, Beverly, is very helpful and always has a few tips on bird care. She carries a lot of food brands and birdcare items that you wouldn't find in a typical Petco or Petsmart, which is great especially if your bird has special needs. If you're a new bird owner, definitely get a birdcage here or ask Beverly for suggestions on a good bird cage because the cages they sell at generic pet stores are usually not the best for birds (too small!).
