Such a great local coffee shop in Bixby Knolls! I am obsessed with their veggie bagel. It has sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, avo, and cream cheese or hummus! Everything is so fresh in this bagel. I'm not sure what makes it so good since it's so simple, but I crave it all of the time. And for $6, it's such a good deal compared to other bagel shops I've been to! I've been coming here for years now and can speak on both slow and rush hours. First I would like to compliment the staff, they are ALL very welcoming and considerate! Coffee and food is great and fairly priced. If you're looking for a nice and welcoming place to come and study this is it! I highly recommend coming on the weekdays when it's not packed so you can get a nice table. If you're coming on the weekends be prepared to wait a little bit as they have other customers who are also waiting on their order. The staff moves efficiently and will get your order out in a timely manner. However they only have 2 hands and can only do so much in a timely manner. Came on a slow 5pm afternoon to only be treated very poorly by the staff. Ordered an avocado smoothie and I was told that it came with banana, when explaining that it's a bit out of my comfort zone, I would prefer it with only avocado. She said that it's tastes better with it and of course I wanted to give it a shot. But I specifically asked if it is not to my liking could I get a remake without the banana. She then agreed. Sadly it was not to my liking and when asking for a remake, she had terrible attitude and was not very nice. I feel that me asking for a remake, she did not properly make it good. I have been coming here for YEARS and I can attest that their coffee, food, and service has never changed. It's a fairly well spaced area with lots of seating and outlets. Good for studying solo or very small groups or catching up with friends. You can tell that it's a great neighborhood coffee shop because almost everyone that come in are regulars of this place. Bixby Joe is a cute local coffee shop with something for everyone. They truly have such a vast and varied food and drink menu and a large case filled with baked goods and fresh bagels. The staff was kind and friendly and working hard. I was glad that I looked at the menu online before arriving because their menu that has descriptions of the food is only up by the register which doesn't give you much time to look when there's a line of people behind you. My Iced Chai Latte was standard but hit the spot. Their toasts or paninis seem to be the way to go but I went with something I wouldn't make at home and ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap which comes with cheese, spinach, arugula and raw onion with a cucumber dressing on the side. It didn't quite do it for me as I found it to be a bit boring and it was on the small side. Next time I would go for a bagel sandwich, a bagel with flavored cream cheese or one of their gorgeous topped toasts. They seem to always have specials posted up around the register so keep a look out for those and come support a local coffee shop! read more

Bixby knolls has a classic storefronr here with bixby joe. Plenty of good drinks, good food, and even nicer people. My go to order is a vanilla iced latte paired with a cheese bagel bacon,egg,& cheese that gets you going in the morning. The latte is usually strongly flavored which may not appeal to those with a preference for coffee strong taste. If you're lactose intolerant definitely ask for oat milk cause it wont have mercy on you instead. The bagels are deliciousSSS! This particular order is a liñ heavy on the stomach but the bacon is crispy and the cheese is great. Can't deny the flavor. As far as the location, the parking is ample and there is always a spot either on their lot or on the street. No need to worry about that. So go check it out when you can! read more

I'm basically addicted to Bixby Joe's avocado toast. The first time I got it, it was on toast. The 2nd time I tried it with a jalapeño cheese bagel and it was even better! It's a great place to work or meet up with a friend, too. With convenient hours, there are lots of people, including regulars, that come here early in the morning,  even on a weekend.  Food and drinks are fantastic. There's so much variety. The ambiance is a proper coffee house with outside and inside seating. There's plenty of free parking in the lot. I really like their protein wrap and hubs their jalapeno Cheddar bagel with lox. June 8, 2022 I stopped in after dropping my car off for service and what a sweet Surprise!! I tried the Avocado Toast and I was not disappointed! I've made avocado toast for myself a few times but this was beyond what I even did. Delicicious!! I grabbed my Mom a Chai Tea and got myself a Cappuccino. Those were both good. The wait was long but there were mobile orders and other customers so totally understandable! July 1, 2022 I came back again for that tasty Avocado Toast and this time I was extremely disappointed. When I walked up to the counter it took a few minutes before I was acknowledged but everyone was busy. The gentleman came over and took my order, 2 Avocado Toasts (I'm not sharing) and a Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Coconut Milk... I paid and waited. This time the wait was horrible. There were about 3 customers who came after me that were able to get their drink and their food before I received anything. They were not mobile orders, they were customers who walked up to order. The guy who took my order came over and apologized and said he's working on it now. I waited more than 25 minutes only to receive sub par food. I was extremely disappointed not just by the presentation of the Avocado Toast but the quality, there were so many brown spots on the Avocado that could have simply been cut off because that's what I had to do in order to eat it. In all fairness I've been here twice, the first time it was Excellent, the second time it was not. I'm willing to give them another chance before I come to any conclusion. Overall the atmosphere was nice, I used to go there 25 years ago when they were "Its A Grind". I'm looking forward to my next opportunity here. read more

Bixby Joe is one of the good local cafés in the Bixby Knolls area. It has been around for years... a good hangout to drink coffee with friends, read a good book, listen to music, or do some work on a laptop. There's definitely a good vibe when you enter the place. When you order their sandwiches and salads... they are freshly made and very tasty. Their bagels and desserts are delivered daily from other local businesses. Their hot and cold drinks are brewed and blended just right. The baristas are friendly and always busy preparing and making patrons' orders. Once in awhile, Soo - the owner of the café will take your order. She's friendly and remembers your name next time you visit. I have been coming to the café since they opened... I enjoy supporting local and small businesses in the area. Somehow I ended up surrounded by Starbucks *sigh* One day, I was craving a non Starbucks bagel and found this gem on Yelp! I've been here a few times since then. I always order an unsweetened soy latte and it is excellent! Soy can be tricky to steam, but they do it well. I enjoy their breakfast bagels. I get the sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and it doesn't disappoint. My favorite item is the chocolate muffin. The top has that perfect crispy top that I can never seem to figure out at home lol it is sweet, but not too sweet considering it is chocolate on chocolate. Lastly, the staff is always very kind and helpful. Ordering food does result in a bit of a wait, but I don't mind considering it is being made fresh to order - something Starbucks does not do.
