Busy day today, ordered through the phone, two jalapeño bagels w bacon, avocado, cheese. and a croissant with bacon, egg, cheese. We arrived and food was ready! but unfortunately they had our order wrong, they gave us two croissants and one bagel. they offered to remake and we waited about 10 minutes for the new ones, upon opening the bagels we notice they got them wrong again, they gave us one cheesy bagel and jalapeño bagel (which was cold) and we had asked for no cheese cream and they also added that.. we continued to eat them because we're in a hurry and it's a mistake that happens overall it was really good both bagels and croissant. of course service was great! and cute inside! plenty of seating and parking! and great prices! read more

I love their food and drinks but today they didn't have bacon so once again I couldn't get my bacon avocado toast :( Service was great but I wish they were just more consistent with their items. The foods are freshly made and delicious. One thing that some of the staffs and one of the managers need to be trained on is to know the difference between their Nutella Croissant and the Chocolate Croissant. This place has been slowly starting to go downhill almost every time I visit and this inconsistency will only make this place go downhill even faster. Recently, I ordered a Nutella Croissant, but they gave me the Chocolate one. When I gave back the chocolate and asked for the nutella, both one of the managers and one of the staffs insisted that both croissants were the same. Even after I told them that nutella and chocolate taste different from one another and that both of those croissants looked different from one another (one looked plain and one had the stripes), both the manager and the staff continued insisting that they were correct when they clearly were not. Also, each of those two croissants had a sticker, which clearly stated the flavor, on its plastic wrap, so how could you, the staffs, have missed that? On top of that, I know how nutella and chocolate taste like. Even though both flavors contain cocoa, they're similar to each other, not the same. read more

Still one of my favorite cafes to work at in Long Beach. Everything is reasonably priced and tastes good. Decided to have an egg white veggie sandwich and a decaf coffee. I like that they added alfalfa sprouts to the sandwich. It's very filling and flavorful. Such a great local coffee shop in Bixby Knolls! I am obsessed with their veggie bagel. It has sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, avo, and cream cheese or hummus! Everything is so fresh in this bagel. I'm not sure what makes it so good since it's so simple, but I crave it all of the time. And for $6, it's such a good deal compared to other bagel shops I've been to! This wonderfully cozy shop is serving up early 2000s vibes. With a wide assortment of pastries and chilled and hot items to choose from, it's a great place to grab a quick bite or hang out for a while. They have tons of outlets in the event you bring a device that needs charging and a good amount of indoor seating with a few small tables outside. Staff always greets you with a smile. Their BEC bagel is pretty solid for a coffee shop bagel (super crispy bacon yum yum yum) as is their selection of teas and coffees. My only disappointment is they've erased all of their prices from the main drink board. Food item prices are still visible on their printed menus, but it would be nice to know the overall cost of what you're purchasing before you pay for it. I understand their reasoning for it, but do hope they'll add them again in the future. read more

The line was long, but quick. The person taking orders seemed to know most of the people who were there so that tells me they have loyal customers. Honestly, l've tried giving this place multiple chances, but it just keeps letting me down. The customer service is seriously lacking, the staff usually seem annoyed or uninterested, like they're doing you a favor by even acknowledging you're there. The employees see you in line, and guess what they do? They just ignore you. Last time I waited in line for 15 minutes. On top of that, nothing ever works. The ovens and microwaves are constantly broken, which means half the food on the menu is off-limits most of the time. If you're hoping for something warm or fresh, good luck. I wanted a bagel last time, but they couldn't even warm it up for me! It's honestly so crazy and very unprofessional. They lie about their stuff being broken, just because they are lazy people that don't even want to do their job correctly. It's also just not a pleasant atmosphere overall. It always feels like the employees are just staring or talking about you. It really feels like management just doesn't care and it shows. There are way better coffee spots nearby that actually value their customers and take pride in their service. I won't be coming back! Bixby Joe is a cute local coffee shop with something for everyone. They truly have such a vast and varied food and drink menu and a large case filled with baked goods and fresh bagels. The staff was kind and friendly and working hard. I was glad that I looked at the menu online before arriving because their menu that has descriptions of the food is only up by the register which doesn't give you much time to look when there's a line of people behind you. My Iced Chai Latte was standard but hit the spot. Their toasts or paninis seem to be the way to go but I went with something I wouldn't make at home and ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap which comes with cheese, spinach, arugula and raw onion with a cucumber dressing on the side. It didn't quite do it for me as I found it to be a bit boring and it was on the small side. Next time I would go for a bagel sandwich, a bagel with flavored cream cheese or one of their gorgeous topped toasts. They seem to always have specials posted up around the register so keep a look out for those and come support a local coffee shop! read more

Bixby knolls has a classic storefronr here with bixby joe. Plenty of good drinks, good food, and even nicer people. My go to order is a vanilla iced latte paired with a cheese bagel bacon,egg,& cheese that gets you going in the morning. The latte is usually strongly flavored which may not appeal to those with a preference for coffee strong taste. If you're lactose intolerant definitely ask for oat milk cause it wont have mercy on you instead. The bagels are deliciousSSS! This particular order is a liñ heavy on the stomach but the bacon is crispy and the cheese is great. Can't deny the flavor. As far as the location, the parking is ample and there is always a spot either on their lot or on the street. No need to worry about that. So go check it out when you can! read more

Came on a slow 5pm afternoon to only be treated very poorly by the staff. Ordered an avocado smoothie and I was told that it came with banana, when explaining that it's a bit out of my comfort zone, I would prefer it with only avocado. She said that it's tastes better with it and of course I wanted to give it a shot. But I specifically asked if it is not to my liking could I get a remake without the banana. She then agreed. Sadly it was not to my liking and when asking for a remake, she had terrible attitude and was not very nice. I feel that me asking for a remake, she did not properly make it good. I have been coming here for YEARS and I can attest that their coffee, food, and service has never changed. It's a fairly well spaced area with lots of seating and outlets. Good for studying solo or very small groups or catching up with friends. You can tell that it's a great neighborhood coffee shop because almost everyone that come in are regulars of this place. Two very good friends of mine took me here and I fell in love with the tuna sandwich. Their bagels are so crisp and soft that it hits hard with their rose latte. Received regular sandwiches. Their idea of paninis is a basic sandwich. They do not have a panini press apparently. They just toast the bread. The sandwich itself, fried chicken, "panini" was okay. Nothing special. The grilled chicken "panini" was not good. The chicken was just microwaved. It became a soggy droopy mess within 2 min of receiving it. Bought a Butterfinger Mocha. Tasted nothing like Butterfinger. Barely tasted like Mocha as well. Wasn't impressed. Overall, would visit again only if I was in the area and couldn't think of anything else to eat. read more

This spot has quickly become a favorite of mine for breakfast and beverages. Starbucks has nothing on this place. With convenient hours, there are lots of people, including regulars, that come here early in the morning,  even on a weekend.  Food and drinks are fantastic. There's so much variety. The ambiance is a proper coffee house with outside and inside seating. There's plenty of free parking in the lot. I really like their protein wrap and hubs their jalapeno Cheddar bagel with lox. Filling and delicious. Can't really rate on the coffee since I'm more of a chai gal, but chai was yummy. read more

I've been coming here for years now and can speak on both slow and rush hours. First I would like to compliment the staff, they are ALL very welcoming and considerate! Coffee and food is great and fairly priced. If you're looking for a nice and welcoming place to come and study this is it! I highly recommend coming on the weekdays when it's not packed so you can get a nice table. If you're coming on the weekends be prepared to wait a little bit as they have other customers who are also waiting on their order. The staff moves efficiently and will get your order out in a timely manner. However they only have 2 hands and can only do so much in a timely manner. The staff and the shop are clean and I often witness staff cleaning in between clients and washing their hands. I really enjoy this coffee shop. read more
