Food- I ordered a chocolate muffin and it was a 7/10. The muffin is dry and hard on the outside. Maybe because I didn't warm it up? But I've had muffins where it didn't need to be warmed up and it was still delicious! I haven't tried a drink there yet tho, but I will definitely be coming back. Service - I was at the front for a while, not sure if the lady was the owner or manager? She was just on her phone the entire time told me "I'll be right with you." Such a great neighborhood gem. The food, drinks and pastries are all delicious. All sandwiches are made to order and the dri is are not pre-made, which is a rarity. Service is fast most days except when busy on the weekends even then it's worth the wait. The owner is not really kind towards me (it's not worth discussing because this still is a great place, there could be many reasons for her demeanor. My first trip here after living 5 minutes away for 7 years. I ordered a vanilla iced coffee with soy, grilled chicken burrito and a few pastries. The price is highly affordable for the service you get. The burrito was so delicious and fresh! The service was exceptional. Been coming here for over three years, food and coffee are pretty good but after my last 2-3 trips here I did not appreciate the service. Also the way they nickel and dime you here is a turn off, prices here are already a bit much on some items (some items are fair but others are not) and there's an advertised matcha mushroom drink that says "plant based" on it, but is made with whole milk and they want to up charge you to change to plant based milk, false advertisement? Trust me when I say I know the customer isn't always right, but the customer should not be talked to in a rude, condescending way when an issue with an order is brought up. Telling a customer you repeated the order several times over the phone is a great way to replace the blame (which I corrected her twice and on the third time I swore we were saying the same thing and agreed on the order). But that's just me, I would still recommend this place to others, just don't expect them to go above and beyond with their service or admit they made a mistake, they'll blame you and then say they'll take back their food and refund you AFTER you go back and forth several times and get made to feel bad. In all my years that I was in the restaurant business I never spoke to customers the way they are allowed to speak to customers here. I usually never feel the need to get upset but this time I decided to return the rudeness and decline the refund since she made me feel bad saying "you can give me back the food and then I'll refund you". Looked up breakfast sandwhich - sandwhich spot on Yelp and found 2 places we tossed a coin and bixby it was.. smh!!! I ordered a croissant with bacon, but they said they were out. They had sausage and ham. He told me the ham was cut daily. I expected ham, you know, kinda like honey baked ham. Instead, it was deli meat ham. The sandwhich had cheese, egg whites, and ham. It was $9.80 and was not worth it at all. If that was what I was getting, then a price point of $ 5-6 makes sense! The sandwich was bland and just very sad overall. It's not worth it! My friend got a chicken sandwich panini ($9.00+), and there were no signs of the panini. When I see panini sandwhich, I need to see the grill makers on the sandwich and cheese pull happening. NOTHING! Customer service was just ok. Overall, it is not worth $10.00, sorry! Maybe the coffee is good but as far as the food negative. I went in today I ordered a bacon avocado toast with egg added just in case they think this is a fake comment also with a canned kombucha lol the girl that took my order which she's in the photo and the girl training her in pastel green top the other girl was just very serious I told her what I wanted she would just look at me like I was dumb then the girl training her was very sweet and explained what it has. Then when it came to my order she didn't speak she was just serious looking at me waiting like tell me my total so I know it's time to pay it's like she was bothered speaking to me then the couple that went after me she was being very sweet with them then you can see the girl on the right came in with another friend which is certain they are Hispanic as well she did the exact same thing just looking at them like if she was mad having to help them let's not forget that they don't call out names or numbers and when you go up to ask they just ignore and walk away from you which the owner can check the cameras she was out putting a fire from the trash can. It tastes like Starbucks cold brew, but you get more for a cheaper price. I also ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. Something was off about that sausage. Though it didn't taste spoiled, it had a sour-ish taste to it. The rest of the croissant was good though. They have an extensive menu of teas and smoothies as well. The workers were nice as well. Fresh every time. No weird pieces in the salmon. Big enough to share as well. My second favorite is the classic ham and cheese croissant. Can't go wrong with that. Another plus if this cafe is the day trip water. It's around 5 bucks I remember correctly and it's infused with cbd. I was in the area and came across Bixby Joe while driving around in the morning. I was looking for a cafe that would offer something for breakfast and was happy to find they offered a wide variety of things on their menu. I got a spinach and cheese bagel and had it with cream cheese, avocado, sprouts, cucumber, and tomato. It was divine! I think next time I will ask them to add bacon to give a little saltiness and crunch to the sandwich. The cafe was busy but not too busy. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and I like that the egg white is a little fluffy. The portion of the croissant was pretty big and I was full from eating half the croissant. This is a great coffee shop with lots of outlets, space, parking, and even outdoor space. It's pretty close to the Long Beach Airport, which is convenient if you're trying to pick someone up nearby. Beware, the golden latte, known to get its color from turmeric, includes grated ginger (I can handle the ginger flavor but can't take down the grated stuff). I noticed they stay open late for First Friday. Not sure if that's dependent on if there's a live band that's playing in front of the shop. I come here often and usually order a drink and something to eat. The quality of the coffee is great for me and they have a really good selection of food. I love their gluten free banana cakes that they place near the registers and their cookies, especially. Unfortunately, some of the people that work there aren't very friendly. 5 stars for the bacon avocado toast that Was simply amazing! We got this last week and it was incredible. My husband also got an asiago spinach bagel and a hazelnut coffee. The bagel was very delicious aswell but the coffee was not. It did not have any sweetener and it did not even taste like hazelnut. I ordered an ice green tea chai and two food items, ham egg cheese croissant and avocado bacon toast. The person who took my order never heard of the ice green tea chai before and I pointed it at the menu lol he went to the back and asked if the others knew what that was and i heard him say idk it's on our menu though. He came back and said i mean we can do a matcha chai. I said sure idk what it is thought it was just interesting. I waited about 10-15 mins. Saw a green drink and food container on the counter and asked what it was (i was going back and front from outside because i had a dog with me).
