I feared a complicated drainage diagnosis and possibly a very expensive repair. I had already worked myself into believing this might involve cameras, locating equipment, drainage plans, excavation, and who knows what else. Jeremy took one look at the situation and said, essentially, "Nope." The problem was simple, and so was the solution. He explained that the pop-up drain was doing what it was designed to do, but the excess water had found an easier path underground, which also explained a soft depression nearby (this was causing a lot of soil erosion on my neighbor's property). He then spent a great deal of time walking me through the remedy: where to dig, how deep and wide to make the area, how to use gravel and plants, and how to install deeper edging so the water would disperse properly instead of gushing toward my neighbor's property. I asked a lot of questions. Jeremy answered every one patiently, then went over the plan a second and third time because I wanted to make sure I understood. He physically mapped everything out so I could clearly understand what needed to be done. There was no attempt to sell me camera diagnostics, unnecessary cleaning, excavation, or an expensive drainage system. He charged only the $79 trip fee and nothing more. That kind of honesty is increasingly rare. Jeremy could have turned my anxiety into a padded invoice, but instead gave me a practical, inexpensive solution and made certain I understood it before he left. This is exactly the kind of company people hope they are calling. I felt so relieved that I was prompted to reciprocate his honesty by writing this review.

Apparently AO Smith assembler does not know what torque wrenches are for or he was being ugly and decided to make a few peoples lives miserable. Even though the problem is an AOSmith problem they say I might have to pay a small sum to get the exchange water heater. So I have to pay for delivery of the old unit back to Lowes, delivery of replacement to my home, and then pay for installation.....How's that for a 6 year warranty?

I had a 30 gallon water heater and after the third water heater (and only when I wasn't at the house) they snuck in a 20 gallon. The water heater was supposed to be installed on a weekday as promised, but was installed on a Saturday, and then I was charged a weekend rate of $100 more. The water heater has had two heating elements installed since I purchased it, the 1st one within months of being installed and Miller and Sons refused to honor the warranty claiming I probably had hard water even though they never came out to check the unit. I tried to work it out with one of the owners Ashley who was rude, talked over top of me and refused to be reasonable in anyway. She even insisted that I never called for service. She had me call her on a private number because she was out of the office. Then she claimed I never called because they record all calls. I reminded her that she had me call her on a different number because she wasn't in her office. She then said she would never do that because all calls had to be recorded. I asked her why I would make that up when I had no hot water and needed immediate service! She said she couldn't remember because it was over a year and I had to understand that I wasn't her only customer with a problem. I had to call out a second company who informed me (after) checking the information on the water heater that I was sold a unit that is over 10 years old and not under warranty. I have tried several times to contact Miller and Sons but Ashley became hostile and continued to take no responsibility and refused to even have someone look at the unit claiming that even if I was under warranty that the service call to check the unit or any subsequent parts replacement were not part of their warranty. I begged her to simply give me what I paid for, a 30 gallon water heater...she informed me that although I ordered a 30 gallon, a 20 was installed because a new 30 gallon would not fit. I told her that the price of a 30 gallon was more than a 20 gallon and I was owed something. She said they were the same price. I looked them up...she is lying. Simply unconscionable for a business to act this way...she told me if I was unhappy I could always sue her and hung up. All I can say is...STEER clear of this business. They must have had an old water heater in their warehouse and figured I would never know the difference. My wife and I are old and on fixed incomes and when I told Ashley this she informed me that maybe I needed to get another job. I recommend anyone in need of a professional plumbing service to look around. The second company I called who told me about the bait and switch told me he always heard they were reputable, but some of their reviews say otherwise. Why did they send out 3 different water heaters if they know what they are doing? This is a terrible thing to do to old people and Miller and Sons should be ashamed of themselves.
