Its great to have a bakery on the westside. The staff was friendly. We chose 5 different cupcakes. I thought all the cupcakes were good except the vanilla, not sure why but the frosting tasted store bought. The only disappointment was it is not an eat in bakery. read more

In town for my and my daughter's birthday's and of course balloons. We decided to do birthday cake at the last minute and were in desperate need of gluten free! Google and found bittersweet. For $58 (kinda high in my book but worth it with 1 bite!) we picked up 6 gluten free, 8 regular (all different flavors), a 3 pk of GIANT (and amazing) sugar cookies as well as homemade marshmellows for the birthday girl. So glad we came here! read more

Terrible organization and lack of communication. They recommend emailing your request but don't answer the emails. Give you false deadlines for orders. Even under the current circumstances, you can't run a business without the simplest of expectations which is proper communication. read more

Yummy cakes and great service! They even do gluten free and everything is made from scratch! read more

6 inch 4-layer Chocolate Cake Buttercream Chocolate Frosting 40-PRICEY SMACKERS! Cake was for a small retirement party with close friends. Cake = DRY & NO CHOCOLATE FLAVOR AT ALL Frosting = GRITTY (like cocoa not dissolved) NO FLAVOR, NOT CREAMY OR BUTTERY. All of us agreed this was really bad cake and our company politely refused to take any home when we jokingly asked. Was refunded HALF of the $40. Cake was not worth even $20! PEOPLE! TASTE YOUR STUFF! IT'S AWFUL! read more

I absolutely LOVE THIS BAKERY! Staff is friendly, every time I come in they are diligently working on exquisite details of BEAUTIFUL cakes and desserts. It's a Small shop and mainly only sell Cupcakes, cookies and THE MOAST DECADENT Sinfully Rich Chocolate Cream cheese Bars that are HUGE for the typical walk in Customers. They have marshmallows and handmade doggie treats too. But there cupcakes selection is amazing. They don't have the same cupcakes every single day. The other day they had s'mores cupcake (Chocolate Cake, whipped marshmallow cream cheese frosting, dusting if toasted Graham crunches and a cute toasted marshmallow and chocolate curl) their cupcakes are almost too beautiful to eat and they taste even better. They have your typical red velvet, birthday cake, lemon ,strawberry, cherry.. but they're s'mores and key lime pie and the ones they create out of their minds are just amazing. Between the wonderful customer service and the fact that they remembered my name on my second visit, the wonderful desserts and I'd say pretty fair pricing for the amazing treats they provide.. I definitely would give this a five-star probably 10 if I could. I had a few of their wedding cakes for events that I've catered it's not your typical dry wedding cake that just looks beautiful on the outside ..it's actually stunning and delicious on the inside as well.. I highly recommend Bittersweets, and being a baker myself I rarely recommend competition :) read more

I wanted a vegan wedding cake and boy did they deliver! It was beautiful, delicious, and I doubt our guests even knew it was vegan. We had a whole tier leftover after the wedding, so we got to enjoy it for weeks after! read more

We moved here from the North Dallas area and love Sprinkles cupcakes, yes-they are that good! We've been here for a few years and BitterSweets red velvet cupcakes are good substitute when craving a Sprinkles red velvet cupcake. We also enjoy the cute flavor themed cupcakes. They are different from what we'd find at Sprinkles, however we've never been disappointed. And, it's nice to have a grab and go cupcake shop near by. read more

Super delicious cupcakes! I went in and was grateful for a smiling face and great customer service on my bad day. We enjoyed the variety of flavors we tried and some gluten free items as well. Yummy cakepops! Also, the fancy lady helping me snuck in an extra cupcake, which I didn't notice until I got them home.(It was the end of the day.) Nice suprise on my bad day. :) read more

Fabulous cupcakes! I ordered for a bridal shower and they were decorated perfectly. We had the red velvet and the carrot cake. Both flavors were moist and tasted homemade. I will come back again for sure. read more

I am very disappointed in this company. I called over a month ago to set up a wedding cake tasting and was never told that I had to pay in advance. So therefore they did not put me down for my appointment that I thought was good to go. Nor did they call to follow up. Now I have a month before my wedding and I now I am out of luck for my wedding cake. Nor could they do anything to remedy their mistake. read more

Decent. like a betty Crocker boxed cupcake. Frosting lacks flavor. Tastes artificial.

The cupcakes were delicious, no doubt! Very rich and sweet, beautifully presented, many great and unique flavors to choose from. Were these delicious cupcakes worth $34 (inc tax) for the dozen? Well, it's one of the silliest things I've done in a while, and I likely won't do it again soon. Besides the unique flavors, and general yumminess, they are your typical small cupcakes, nothing stand-out about the size or value that makes the price worth purchasing often, for me and my budget anyhow. For the outrageous cost, I wouldn't mind buying them maybe once a year for a very special occasion. If they find themselves more reasonably priced in the future, I'd be willing to splurge every few months, as they're quite good and there are so many flavors to experience. read more

Looked them up on Yelp before stopping in 2 weeks ago for my fiancee's Bday. Large selection of different flavored cup cakes to choose from. If you don't get the Twix Cupcake then you're missing out on a amazingly flavorful experience with your taste buds and your blood sugar levels. Will use again in the future for special occasions. 5 starz fo'shizzle! read more

I purchased 24 chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. I paid $51.46. I ordered them a week in advance. The staff was very polite but I was truly ripped off. The majority of the strawberries were only an inch long. I usually do business with berries.com or drive across town to ABC bakery. Even Smiths around the corner had huge chocolate covered strawberries for half the price. I don't mind paying, but the business needs to care about its product. Every single member of my family made a comment on how ridiculous the strawberries were. read more

Amazing service! Every detail on the cake was to the point. Delicious vegan cake I ever had. Thank you for the extra effort you guys put in

These people messed up my wedding cake so bad it was unrecognizable. I ordered textured icing and they gave me smooth, they added ugly ribbon to the cake, and the it wasn't even the color that I ordered! I ordered the design of my cake so carefully and they lied to me about the service they were going to provide. I couldn't be more disappointed. read more

Incredible cupcakes! Tried the salted caramel and the peanut butter panic. Both very sweet and rich with layered flavors. Cupcakes are the perfect size for a little indulgence without feeling stuffed. At $2.50 each, they're a good deal as well. I'll be back. read more

Wow, what an amazing place! I placed an order for 204 mini cupcakes for my sister's wedding! We ordered several different flavors and asked them to make the cupcakes match the wedding colors. I was treated so nicely when ordering the cupcakes and treated with such respect. Manny delivered the cupcakes for the wedding and was awesome! He stayed and meticulously set up the cupcakes and was so professional. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious and on top of that beautifully decorated. Everyone commented on the cupcakes wondering where they were from. I will definitely use this bakery again! The only problem for me was the location, because I live in the East mountains. They're so good that I am willing to make the drive in the future! read more

First time in the store. We got a tuxedo, almond joy, and salted carmel. The frosting was sweet buttercream. We all agreed it was the best part. The cake, however, was dry. The chocolate was really rich, too much for me. I don't think I would go back. read more

We ordered a cake the day before we needed it. My daughter ordered it for us. She was told that the cake would easily feed at least 8 people. Well, it would have if everyone got a sliver and a promise. She was charged $37.00. When my daughter brought the cake home, I called the owner and told her that there must have been a mistake because the cake looked more like cupcake size or at the very least only 4". She wasn't too happy but she gave my daughter a $30.00 refund and charged her $7.00 for the ingredients she used. Apparently they had a $30.00 markup! They need to explain their prices properly before they bake and charge. We were very disappointed, needless to say. It seems that everyone wants to get rich off of everyone else, it seems. Expensive lesson well learned! read more

It all comes down to poor customer service. BitterSweets is living up to the "bitter" part at least. For years, this has been my go-to bakery for important events, and they delivered beautiful, intricately decorated cakes. That was before the business traded hands sometime in the recent past. Twice in the last six months I have been let down by the staff's inability to follow instructions. My mother ordered a cake for her golden anniversary, picking out a design from one of the cakes they already had on display, a gorgeous single tier decorated with cascading lilies and an elegant ribbon. When I went to pick up the order, I was presented with a plain white cake with a random flower shoved in the top. When I complained that this wasn't what was ordered at all, I was met with a shrug of indifference and an offer to maybe shove another flower in top of the cake and call it good. I emailed the owner to express my dismay and she offered a 10% discount on my next order. It was possibly the best $85 ultra-minimalist white cylinder of cake ever made, but it was an $85 WHITE CYLINDER. OK, fine. Whatever. She wanted to give me a discount to make it up, so I placed an order for my daughter's birthday cake. I came prepared with example photos and sketches, and yet there was still another "miscommunication." The cake was nothing like what was discussed. The order showed that most of the printed out examples had been tossed. The owner stonewalled when I asked to speak to her. She wasn't going to own up to making another mistake. When she finally did admit there was "probably" another miscommunication, she didn't feel moved to apologize or offer any form of restitution. Even just an apology to my daughter would have been something, but there was precisely ziltch. Yeah, in the grand scheme, it's just cake, but it's cake that I won't be purchasing in the future. If you are planning an event and need something more elaborate than a Costco sheetcake, I'd advise you to keep on moving. You'll only find heartache here. read more

I bought my daughter's graduation cake here and it was beautiful looking and delicious. You definitely won't be disappointed with the appearance. It was an oreo cake and they made a fondant banner with the "Congratulations Ashley" on top (which was a nice touch). Definitely a special occasion place because it was a bit pricey ($30 for a small cake for 6 to 8). My only regret I forgot to take a picture! read more

I have to say that this is the BEST cupcake place I have tried in Albuquerque. Since moving here, I have been underwhelmed by the bakeries. I think I have finally found my go-too place. I live in California and needed custom Muppet cupcakes for a baby shower. Ashton and the whole bakery team were extremely helpful from the start. My favorite flavors were strawberry champagne and salted caramel. Highly recommend this bakery! read more

Ordered a wedding cake from there. When we went for cake tasting the samples were actually very good. Wish I could say the same for the actual cake. It was overly sweet, might as well get a sack of sugar and eat it with a spoon. It was hard to cut it on top of that. Overpriced to say the least. Will never go back to this place. This beautiful and delightful bakery is an awesome surprise and treat for the Westside, and I would strongly encourage everyone to "cross the River" to enjoy the delicious baked goods this bakery creates. They even have GF options! We bought the raspberry marscapone cupcake AND the lemon bar - both perfectly amazing! Now if they would only serve coffee to go with their goodies..... Hmmm, maybe I'll bring that up to them when I go again to try some of their other eye-catching mouthwatering treats! read more

I am a huge fan of Bittersweets Bakery (formerly Caked Cupcakes) - that's why I chose that bakery for my part-time employment. The owner has been in the pastry business for decades - in ABQ and in numerous high-end bakeries around the U.S. She's a true certified professional pastry chef. She knows her recipes inside and out, and can make minute changes to the recipes to perfect the result. I guarantee she bakes everything from scratch daily using butter, cream, sour cream, buttermilk, fresh eggs, fresh fruit, cream cheese, etc. Bittersweets Bakery never sells day-old products, but instead donates unsold items to a local charity daily. She has inspired hundreds of students (like me) who took classes from her in CNM's Culinary Arts program. Check out the Bittersweet Bakery website to see the portfolio of cakes she's made recently. They're amazing! read more

I called on the 11th for a birthday cake for the 27th. I was told they were booked for the 27th. 16 days ahead of time and they can't do a kids birthday cake. This would have been my first order from them, but I guess they don't need or want my business or my family and friends business. I posted on their Facebook page and not one response from them. In fact they deleted it and I wasn't mean or rude. If 16 days notice is not enough what is?? I called ABC bakery the same day and they took my order, no problem and were very nice. If their stuff is good, I will never know, because they just lost any future business from me. read more

My fiancés birthday was last week and I always pick up some cupcakes for him... This was my first time in there and it's amazing!
