The shrimp are delicious and meaty (they better be for almost €60 a plate). The dish I ordered was the fish tacos, which do not look as you think they would (see the picture). Nevertheless, the were scrumptious! Chunks of deep fried fish laid on a bed of guacamole surrounded by dollops of green and white sauce make for a very surprising yet delicious dish (take my advice, try the green stuff...it's delicious!). Also, take my advice on this, the cheesecake is great. It's the perfect mixture of creamy yet firm. Lastly, if you're a gin and tonic fan they have a refreshing one just for you. They make it with Norte gin, which is now my favorite. Overall, our party of seven paid around €200 for the night. This is a great place. Great for a nice date night or special occasion. The service is superb and constant, which is a nice change for Spain, the constant part that is. If you're just visiting Madrid, go for it. You will not be disappointed and it'll be one for the books. Enjoy!

The inside was nice without being stuffy and our service was good. I chose this spot because it's a Bib Gourmand Michelin restaurant and it did not disappoint! It was also very reasonably priced - so much so that while originally we were going to do a la carte, we decided to go for a prix fixe menu. It was totally worth it to try so many things and we were very full but not overly so by the end! All our food was only 48 euros which is incredible!

Surprisingly amazing. I had been advised to head over to Laredo for a low key neighborhood late…read morechow. Laredo was packed with locals including the bar so I was there shortly and came back out to notice across the street three Michelin signs on a white wall. Walked over assuming I would have the same luck but no, two empty tables at 9PM and one with no reservation. Lucky me! An lucky indeed. The sevillian running the room was both charming and efficient so we were off and running. Sat down and a very nice Galician white was served. That was promptly followed by a delicacy courtesy of the house: an arepa with kimchi mayo and ceviche gamba. It was an odd combo for me because the arepa was served hot but something understandable because otherwise the arepa would have been barely eatable as it was dense but aside from that detail the dish was a solid 8. I ordered three plates myself. Idiazabal cheese croqueta with a cheese reduction which was more of a ketchup. The croqueta was excellent the ketchup not so much, I think they could have done more with the tomato, specially given the summer season and the excellent produce so a 7.5 because of how the sauce brought the dish down. Then a tomato salad two ways. Heirloom and what I would call classic tomatoes with a cucumber emulsion, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and red onions with aged sherry vinegar. Quite possibly the star dish. Very well staged and done. A solid 9. But for the Gilda which is a basque classic of olives, not so hot green peppers (they are spicy) and usually anchovies which in this case where brilliantly hidden in the peppers, to be substituted by tuna belly deep fried with taste - literally - like heaven. This was a step above the tomato dish because it was so complex specially because it was serve over what I assume to be a crema or some offshoot of yogurt over Extra Virgin Olive Oil and some chili flakes. Very balanced and quite in your face when it needed to be. Solid 9.5 And to end I ordered the ensaladilla which is a staple of Madrid tabernas or pubs and is generally a mayo based potato salad with canned tuna, green beans, eggs, parsley you get the idea. In this case they added shrimps and smoked eels which gave the dish an umami taste which completely blew my head. A very solid taste that blows 9.5. Prices are affordable. Service is all around very competent and prices are more than affordable for this level of food and attention. Highly recommend if you are in Madrid. Also in a great part of town.

The interior is a 'chic' style, they did the most with the space and doesn't feel as small as it truly is which is great. Now for the food, Chef Marcano knows his flavors to perfection, no doubt. The aperitivo are different every day, but they will each leave you wanting more! For starter I went with the Croqueta, since I'm allergic to shellfish I could only have the sheep's milk and cheese one but, WOW, can I order a gazillion of those pleeease?! As main dish I ordered the beef tartare and fried artichokes with beets...both plates have interesting flavors, not the typical that you'd expect, but nonetheless interesting and tasty, they won't let you down. I couldn't leave without ordering the Creme Brûlée with passion fruit...yes, passion fruit! I scraped the bowl clean with that one to say the least.

When they opened, they were a little shocked we didn't have a reservation for 6 people, but they were able to get us situated by pushing 2-2 tops together and moving seats around it. Our waitress offered us an English menu, which definitely helped for ordering since their menu is quite extensive. We didn't have much room beyond our 6 sharing plates, but it worked really well based on how they were pacing food. Dishes came out one at a time and we were able to enjoy and complete each one while they were fresh from the kitchen. They kicked us off with a complementary plate of cheeses, cured meats, and short breadsticks which was a great way to start. The food: Spanish Omelette with Artichokes - Tortilla de patata con alcachofes - a thin layer of egg with thinly sliced, browned potatoes, and lightly fried artichokes. All comes together nicely with slightly different textures. Home-Made Croquettes - Croquetas caseras - 8 enormous croquettes with the crispiest bread crumb exterior. Inside is a lot of creamy/cheesy filling with little bits of cured meat. Warm Salad (Sprouts, Avocado, Fresh Cheese, Tomato, Aoili, and Prawns) - Ensalada templada - the name needs work, but the dish does not. The mixture of everything make it eat more like a creamy shrimp dish from the avocado and egg. Then you have a little texture from thinly sliced fried parsnips (?), sun dried tomato, and salad greens. I would be happy just eating this for a meal. Confit 'Flower' Artichoke with Iberian Jowl, Fresh Foie, and Quail Egg - Alcachofa en flor confitada - is this food, or a work of art? I believe this is the first time I've had a vegetable confit, but the cooking method converts the artichoke into a tender, super rich spread of artichoke leaves. With the toppings, this is near the top of indulgent vegetables I have had in my lifetime. Cuttlefish and White Prawn Rice - Arroz de Sepia y Almeja - lots of seafood, some creaminess from the rice, and then some aioli is added on top of that. Some people in my party didn't like the rice being that "Al dente", but I was ok with how the rice was cooked. Sea Bream Fillet with Galician-Style Clams - Lomo de Dorada con langostinos - perfectly cooked fresh clams. The fish fillets had a nice browned skin, good salt level. No complaints about this dish, but it wasn't very memorable either. It was a full house by the time we finished, and I'm not surprised based on the food quality and sizable portions. Very impressed by the food and will be seeking a return visit if ever back in Madrid.
