Chicken Formaggio Burger
Annette T.

Bistro Tupaz is once again in good graces with me. I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The service and food were spectacular and exactly what I had experienced before the last (cringeworthy) visit. Renee was our server and she was very attentive throughout our meal. We started off strong with their housemade bread which was warm and toasted, accompanied by their orange marmalade. For my entree, I ordered my go-to Chicken Parmesan Burger with fries. Their aioli sauce pairs so well with their fries but I do occasionally find myself dipping fries into the ketchup served along with the burger. All the food was made hot to order and came out relatively quickly. Having this experience made me realize how Bistro Tupaz's management values customer feedback and putting customers at the forefront. I definitely plan on coming back here again to get Bistro Tupaz fix!

Tiramisu - absolutely must get!
Cin-Yee S.

On this return visit, everything was delicious. The freshly made complimentary house breads with marmalade remain impressive as ever, and the dumpling soup was so comforting on a rainy day. Couldn't leave without a slice of tiramisu (and you shouldn't either). And ordered a beef stroganoff for the next day. Again, I had to lament that such a high quality establishment offering such affordable eats is so far from me, but next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'll treat myself again.

Everything. Everything went well. I can not, for the life of me understand how in all of My years of yelping I have not ran across Bistro Tupaz. Upon entry we were greeted by a very gentle and kind hostess/waitress Renee. This same lady is responsible for blowing My mind by providing me with the knowledge that the Bistro has been open for 19 years, 15 of which I've resided in San Jo, and I can not recall them ever popping up on a yelp search, and the fabulous Renee informed Me that she hears that a lot. Hopefully, My review changes that! The food is some of the freshest food I've eaten in probably 40 years. It appears everything comes straight from farm to table. The Chicken Dumpling Soup- amazing! The broth, the crunchy celery and carrots, to the ever so fresh and soft dumpling, to the super fresh chicken breast-my GOD, I have not had it so good, and so reasonably priced. If you visit for nothing but the soup you'll be winning! It's the best $8.00 you'll ever spend, and it soothes the soul, much more beneficial than that $8 cup of Jo you get from Starbucks daily! We(the Princess and me) didn't stop at the soup, tho. They offer several vegan options, so My Pescatearean daughter ordered their Veganoff, their Vegan version of Beef Strogonaff. No frozen meatless balls here, but fresh balls that tell a tale after 1 bite, due to the freshness of the ingredients of which they are made. We could taste the mushrooms, black beans, and corn... some of the veggies used to form them. Very good, very flavorful, very fresh! I ordered the kids meal chicken tenders and enjoyed them with the French fries we choose as the side to accompany Renz' entree. We ended our meal with a Tiramisu one would write home about! The cream that topped it was deliciously fresh, and it is just the intro to all the layers that make tiramisu tiramisu. I love the set-up, the seating is private, you can't really see people as they dine from the front counter, but it's a split wing, and offers plenty of seating on both sides. The art work that graces the walls are very nice. There are no corners cut and no half-steppin at the Bistro. I'm excited to try everything on their menu. Everything plentiful, everything fresh, everything prepared to order, and everything reasonably priced. Start your year by giving the Bistro a try. You wont regret it.

Needs no caption, but I will say I stole about 5 Frys temped to say "I'd like my own plate of Frys please"

It's shocking this is my first time eating here! Kinda hard to see the sign and store front. Well let me just say, we loved it. The restaurant is nice and Clean! I feel Like I want to underline that because man I love a clean restaurant. Renee was our server tonight, she's just lovely. In a nut shell, everything is made from scratch and it tastes like it! So I'm gonna post some pics and our table ate everything! Finally a dinner under a hundred bucks! Woot woot

It's been a long while since we had a meal here. We came for lunch today right when they opened. We were able to pick where we wanted to sit. We were handed menus and cold water was brought for the both of us. They also brought us a complimentary bread basic with homemade mint pesto to spread on it. It was delicious. Everything they make here is from scratch. I decides to try their bistro burger and by husband ordered the Coq au Vin. We also ordered a burrata Capresse salad to share. The salad was so good. The tomatoes were so sweet and it paired well with cheese and fresh basil. My hamburger was just okay. The fries that it came with were perfectly fried and seasoned. I loved them. My husband loved the Coq au Vin. He was surprised at how big the portions were. His meal came with mashed potatoes and a side of seasoned vegetables. The inside is very nice with many seating options. They also have outdoor seating in the back. Our service was very good. I usually get their beef stroganoff when I come. It's the best. I will get that next time we come.

Been going to this spot for almost 15 years and the food and service is always excellent. So many items are made from scratch and the rotating menu keeps things interesting. The ambiance is super relaxing and the outdoor patio on a nice sunny day is always enjoyable. The owner and his family are wonderful and even though I don't live as close as I used to when I first started going to here, I still make the drive because this place is not only nostalgic but delicious every time! The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food that you get. Oh yeah, I can't forget about Tuesday wine night where you get a free glass of wine with your dinner! If you haven't checked the spot out yet then what are you waiting for?

The complimentary bread and special butter. Yummy!

Food: quality Service: excellent Ambiance: layback family restaurant What a gem! Almost didn't want to share. Everything from food quality, service is spectacular! The price can't be beat for its food quality. Don't let the bistro vintage decor fool you. Order anything on the menu, you can't go wrong. Start off with the delicious light crispy fried calamari to pair with a bottle of beer for my partner and a glass of wine for me. Grilled Ribeye was perfectly seasoned and my rare is still moo-ing, just how I like it. Came with the perfectly grilled duck confit green beans and I ordered a side of freshly grilled mix vegetables. Love love. The side vegetables are perfectly grilled and freshly selected, not the typical boil veggies you get out there. The homemade fries are perfectly light and crispy, I don't eat fries usually and I finished all sweet potato fries here. Ohh the dessert! It's so fresh and one of the best bread pudding I've had in town or ever. I had to pair it with the ice cream. It was the best combo. I must try!

Complimentary bread with preserve- forgot to take the picture earlier.

Usually when I note a birthday occasion, restaurants will at least acknowledge it with a small dessert or candle, so I honestly thought there might be something small for us too -- though maybe that's only during dinner service. In the end, there wasn't anything. What upset me more was how rushed the experience felt near the end. Staff were very quick to clear empty plates, and when we got the dessert menu, we asked if the restaurant was closing. The staff member told us the kitchen would close in 5 minutes and rushed us to order dessert quickly. It honestly made the atmosphere feel stressful instead of enjoyable, especially for a birthday celebration. In the end, we didn't even order dessert and just left. I've experienced rushed dining before, but mostly at busy casual places, so I was surprised to experience this kind of atmosphere here. Overall, the experience felt more rushed than welcoming

We were both highly impressed by the food and service. My husband didn't expect the restaurant to look as fancy as it did. That said, there were a mix of guests wearing anything from casual to formal attire. It was New Year's Eve though, so I felt like most guests erred to the side of being well dressed. There was a 4-course prix fixe menu for the evening, which was superb. Each course had 4-6 options, and I was extremely pleased with everything my husband and I chose. My salad with had baby lettuce, toasted pecans, and shaved feta was the best salad I've had all year. The sea bass I got for the main course was particularly outstanding. I was informed that the sea bass was a staple of the daily dinner menu, so I can't wait to get this dish again. The dinner was also accompanied by complimentary bread service, amuse bouches, and mignardises. Last but not least, overall service was excellent. Kendra was our lead server, and she was friendly, attentive, and very helpful when it came to making selections. All the wait staff members were on top of clearing plates and refilling beverages. The pace by which the food was brought out was perfect.

However, once you step inside, you're greeted with an amazing dining experience that far surpasses initial impressions. Ambiance and Decor: The interior is modern and tastefully designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A standout feature is the glass wine cellar situated at the center of the restaurant, adding a touch of elegance. Even the restrooms are impeccably clean--a detail that reflects the establishment's commitment to excellence. Cuisine and Menu: While the menu isn't vast, it offers a wide range of options catering to every taste and dietary requirement. The appetizers are generously portioned, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We started with the Vegetarian Spring Rolls, which included two rolls cut in half--each half the size of a full spring roll at other restaurants. Served with a well-crafted hoisin peanut sauce, the portion was so ample that we took half of it home. The Quails Appetizer was a delightful surprise, arriving as a substantial serving that resembled a main dish. The quail was expertly prepared with a mild teriyaki glaze and accompanied by a fresh side salad. Both appetizers set a high standard for the rest of the meal. For the main course, we ordered the Combination Vermicelli with Prawns and Egg Roll, requesting prawns only. The dish came in a large bowl with a side sauce and was abundant with prawns--enough to satisfy two diners. The highlight was the Salmon Wellington. Presented beautifully, the salmon was wrapped in spinach and encased in crispy puff pastry, resting on a bed of delicious lemon beurre sauce and asparagus. Words can't do justice to how amazing this dish was; we found ourselves using the fresh bread to savor every last bit of the sauce. Again, the portion was generous enough for two. Wine List: The wine list is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Service and Experience: From our seating area, we could view the kitchen through a large window, watching the owner chef work his magic. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. We personally thanked the chef for the incredible experience. Conclusion: The combination of superb service, excellent presentation, inviting ambiance, and reasonable prices made for an unforgettable dining experience. I only wish we had discovered Elements Restaurant sooner. It's perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion, yet the pricing makes it suitable for any day of the week. Great place for bringing friends and family. I strongly recommend that you visit this amazing gem--don't wait! Note: They also offer an extensive take-away menu, which is even larger than their dine-in selection.

While the restaurant was quite busy by the time we left, it wasn't completely full. Decor was modern and comfortable; nothing fancy, but they did have a cool wine storage area surrounded by glasses in the middle. Since they mentioned on their online menu that there's a longer prep time for the Salmon Wellington, we placed an order of it as soon as we sat down while deciding what else to order. For starter, we split the Five Spice Rotisserie Quails. They're quite flavorful, just a bit on the dry side. The Salmon Wellington and Tea-Smoke Duck arrived shortly after we finished the quails and washed our hands. The presentation of the dishes was fantastic. While the puff pastry could be cooked a bit more and the salmon could use more seasonings, the salmon was well cooked, the sauce was quite delicious and the dish was just so beautiful. The duck dish had a very nice smoky aroma, the taro and cranberry reduction was delicious. While the fresh apple slices provided a nice crunch, I would prefer some kind of apple compote. We ended our meal with a mango panna cotta. While the panna cotta was quite thick and not as soft and wobbly as what we're used to, it's still very enjoyable together with the mango sauce, and the plating was top-notch. Service was friendly. Our water was refilled promptly. Complimentary bread was nice and warm. Despite its unassuming store front, and in the middle of nowhere location, Elements offers real bang for the buck delicious fusion dishes with interesting combinations and flavors. Can't wait to come back and try other items on their menu.

The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The overall ambiance was also enjoyable, making it a nice spot for a dinner out. Unfortunately, the experience took a concerning turn at the end of the meal. Our bill came out to $86.42, and I handed my credit card to the waiter. Within seconds (thanks to my card alerts), I received a notification that $103.92 had been charged. When the waiter returned with the receipt, there was no mention of any discrepancy. After waiting a few minutes to see if it would be addressed, I brought it up myself. The waiter appeared flustered and then claimed he had accidentally charged me for someone else's food. That explanation didn't align with the itemized bill I was given, which made the situation feel questionable. He assured me that it would be corrected and that I should see the adjustment in a few days, which I'll be watching closely. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and the fact that it wasn't proactively disclosed is what left a bad impression. Being overcharged without explanation -- and having to catch it myself -- is not something I expect when dining out. I'd consider coming back for the food, but I'd definitely be more cautious when it comes to the bill.
