I was close to giving 4 stars to this shop inside North Shore Manhasset. It is very good quality for food found inside of a hospital, but I had to stick to my usual standards, therefore resulting in 3 stars.
Over the last week, I tried many of their food offerings. Nothing was necessarily top notch, but I came away satisfied every time.
Cheeseburger (6/10) - The beef patty was precooked, but still was warm and had a light pink center, which I was shocked at. Beef itself could be more flavorful, but many toppings were available to give the burger a step up. Unfortunately, the fries were not crispy.
Mushroom Bisque (7/10) - The use of can mushrooms did not bring all the most mushroomy soup. However, the combination of spices and herbs they used still created a nice creamy soup.
Lasagna (7.5/10) - Surprisingly good. Though the microwaved pasta was a bit softer than I like, the flavor bomb from the zesty tomato sauce was excellent. Honestly, better than some restaurants.
Tomato Bisque (6/10) - It's a fine soup except there was no real depth of flavor like the mushroom bisque. I still enjoyed it on a freezing day.
Grilled Chicken Panini (4/10) - Worse thing I had over the week. Dry chicken and barely pressed bread. Can't really taste much of the pesto either.
Mexican Rice Bowl w/ Ground Beef (7.5/10) - Other than the rice being a bit wet, this was extremely enjoyable. Everything tasted fresh. I especially liked the bites with corn salsa.
Broccoli Cheddar Soup (6.5/10) - Creamy and cheesy. The broccoli was not too mushy. Pretty decent.
Peanut Butter & Banana Dark Chocolate (4/10) - The banana bread s frozen, so make sure you wait till it defrosts a bit. Overall, the combination didn't work well for me.
Once again, I wouldn't come here specifically for a meal. However, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here if I happen to be here again. read more
