Loved this place from the get go. Although, the night I went, it seems like they were understaffed, but I can tell all the servers were trying their best to be helpful. I love the ambience of this place. Love the food here as well! Not usually a huge fan of fusion food, but this place does it right! I want to go back to try other dishes in their menu. Will definitely recommend!

A super cosy bistro that took over a hotel lobby area, so the space is full of retro vibes and cosy lighting. We came to celebrate a birthday, so we ordered a bottle of Sochu and multiple dishes for the table. My top food choices of the night would be the seafood and the perilla leaf cream noodles. The service was super, as when they heard we were celebrating a birthday, they helped us take pictures and even found a candle for the cake that we brought. Had a great time celebrating a special event here. Thank you for the great night.

Took over hot real estate, and tried some staples to no avail. Galbi burger has a cold, dry bun. Strange texture and combo. The patty itself wasn't anything to write home about either - a lean ground beef patty made at home would've been better. The perilla udon was great. Good flavours, sauce. Tartare had 0 accompaniments. No bread, crackers... am I supposed to just eat this??

The vibes, food, and staff are a solid 10/10. The music is absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend Mujae if you're looking for a fun night out with great energy and an unforgettable atmosphere.

Love the vibes they were going for in this little Korean-inspired fusion spot. The menu is small but has a decent variety. A nice late-night spot for light eats and drinks. Our favourite dish was the beef tartare - it lookes plain, but was seasoned phenomenally with lots of sesame oil and spice. They also use thinly shaved beef slices which was very good texturally. The only downside was that it didn't come with anything to eat the tartare on, so you're just eating bites of raw beef. The pork ribs were super tender and flavourful as well. The potato pepperoni pancake was very crispy, but far too oily to be enjoyable. We also enjoyed the fish cakes which were a very large portion compared to the other dishes. Overall I would recommend coming here if you want a lighter meal to share with friends. There's a nice ambiance (although the music was a touch too loud).

New Korean spot that opened in North York. Moody, beautiful interior with some hit or miss dishes. Service was great, they even gave us some free high balls on the house! Here's what we got: Yuzu highball 5/5: - Refreshing, tasty and would get again. Korean beef tartare 4/5: - Loved the beef tartare but didn't enjoy the little sushi pieces it came with. Did not compliment each other well. The beef tartare was missing the fresh pear it usually comes with in the authentic style. Korean pancake 2/5 - Thought this was such a miss. It was so oily to the point that the paper underneath this melted with the food and we were picking pieces of mushy paper from our pancake. Korean style pork ribs 4/5 - Tasty, good for sharing! Truffle japchae 5/5 - Don't knock it til you try this, because it was deep flavours, packed with mushroom, and kept me wanting more. Perilla cream kalguksu 5/5 - Creamy delicious noodles. Presentation was also great. Crispy cold noodle and crispy pork 4/5 - Spicy, bouncy noodles that paired well with the cooked pork belly. Tteokgalbi slider with truffle fries 3/5 - Thought this was okay overall, but really was nothing special. Came on a pineapple bun though which as a nice sweet and savoury touch. Spicy tofu and mushroom jjigae 4/5 - Came placed on our table, but without a flame, even though the contraption under was for a flame to keep the soup hot. Overall thi was a good dish as well. Some hit or miss items but most of the items were pretty solid. Definitely give this spot a try.

Visited here on Tuesday evening around 6pm. Loved their interior ambience so much! Staff were very friendly and explained menu options so well. We ordered Perilla cream kalguksu (which was my favourite), Tteokgalbi slicer (also delicious) plus more dishes and some drinks. Both food & drinks were pretty good, and I left feeling satisfied. My friend has very sophisticated palate, and he really enjoyed the food here :) I'm willing to visit here again!

Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Vibe 5/5 I personally loved this new Korean bistro spot. Don't think it's a date night spot, more like a spot for to hang out friends and get some friends. I loved their octopus and beef tartare still dreaming about it haha. Overall 4/5!

Love this new Korean spot that located just off Yonge and Sheppard! It's on one of the side streets of Yonge, just a little past Hay Sushi. The environment is cute, and the food is unique! They offer a lot of refreshing cold dishes for the hot summer weather. My personal favourite was their octopus-beef tartare ($22). It's served with 6 pieces of veggie maki, with a raw egg yolk on top. It's a cute place to catch up with friends/ casual date.

The ambiance is meant to mimic an old hotel bar. But definitely the music does not correspond with this theme. I ordered the truffle japchae-truffle oil, potatoe noodle, ear mushrooms, green bell pepper and onion. Extremely salty. Upon reading the previous reviews, the perilla cream kalguksu-kalguksu noodle, mushroom cream was supposed to be good, but definitely beside from tasting cream and the perilla powder gives it a weird texture in the mouth, nothing special. It was slightly better than the truffle japchae. The Jameson, you can choose between club soda or sprite. I rather they price this a couple bucks more and maybe add a little more alcohol. The 1.5 oz shot, I feel like I am drinking sprite. In terms of service, it wasn't busy when I arrived at 6:10pm but takes 10 minutes for the waitress to come over to ask if you want to order anything. Overall, I am a little disappointed with my experience

We shared a rather big dinner here: Tteokgalbi Slider, Perilla Cream Kalguksu, Shio Konbu Cucumber Salad, Salted Octopus Korean Beef Tartare, Pepperoni & Potato Pancake, and the Cold Spicy Kalguksu with Chilled Braised Pork. (Yes, just the two of us... don't judge!) This place was a surprise. I've seen plenty of spots try Korean fusion, but most end up turning Korean flavors into the sidekick. Here, it's the opposite. The dishes stay rooted in Korean food, and the borrowed techniques or ingredients from other cuisines are what play the supporting role. I really appreciated that, and for the most part, it was executed well. That said, anything involving spice felt like it needed a bit more clarity in direction. It wasn't a matter of technique falling short; it just felt like those dishes didn't quite know where they wanted to go. The Cold Spicy Kalguksu with Chilled Braised Pork and the Salted Octopus Korean Beef Tartare were the two that had us talking the most. The base was solid, flavors were there, but both felt like they were missing that one final push that would've made them the standout of the night. Still great, just not as memorable as the rest. Now for the dishes that absolutely nailed it: the Tteokgalbi Slider and Perilla Cream Kalguksu. The slider came in what felt like a Korean streusel bun, which added this unexpected subdued crunch and sweetness that worked perfectly with the sauce and meat. The Perilla Cream Kalguksu was surprisingly rich and creamy, with the perilla flavor coming through in just the right way. It's not just good for a Korean dish; it could easily appeal to anyone new to this flavor profile. Shio Konbu Cucumber Salad also caught me off guard in the best way. The combination of salted seaweed, cucumber, and pork floss had this addictive balance. It was one of those dishes where you keep reaching for more without even thinking. The Pepperoni & Potato Pancake was another one that leaned more on concept than crispiness. I personally would have liked the potato a bit thinner and crispier, but I respect the intention behind it. Like the rest of the menu, it felt like they wanted every dish to say something. Overall, this was a fun experience and one I'd love to revisit. It's clear they're carving out a direction of their own. Hoping to come back soon and see what else they're working on!

The overall vibe has the feel of a typical neighbourhood pub with a bar situated at the back of the restaurant. Service was average and could use some improvement. The menu features brunch in addition to standard pub fare. Beer selection on tap is fairly limited, offering choices like Guinness and Creemore Lager but don't carry standard options such as Canadian or Bud Light for those who prefer them. I ordered the fish and chips which arrived surprisingly quickly. The portion size was larger than expected and the fish was a bit overly battered, while the fries were crispy and well cooked. The coleslaw ended up being the star of the dish with a fresh, light and a great compliment to the fried food. Unfortunately, there were noticeable bits of excess oil left on the fries which took away from the overall appeal. Overall, the food and service were decent enough, but not memorable enough for me to go out of my way to return.

There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings, Vegetables Bibimbap, Mushrooms Bibimbap, Vegetables Udon, Vegetables Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, Soondubu-jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) in different variations, and more. The menu was pretty extensive, covering the most typical Korean dishes from the stews and grilled items, to a few Korean-Chinese dishes (such as Jajangmyeon) and everything in between. Steamed Vegetables Dumplings were quite small individually, but came in a sizeable portion. I liked the green onion garnish. Taste-wise, they were alright. Vegetables Bibimbap was excellent - good amount of mixed vegetables (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot strips, lettuce, bean sprouts) and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the outer edges, with a still gooey and runny yolk. Grilled Croaker was also decent. It had a lot of small bones as it was a whole fish. It came served with purple rice, and we chose to add on extra lettuce. Seafood Knife Cut Noodles came in a big portion - with lots of slippery, thick udon noodles, pieces of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, shrimps, octopus), and a little big of vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion). They came in a nice seafood-infused broth - perfect for a cold winter day. I'd come again for the variety of menu items they offer (especially the wide selection of vegetarian options), satisfying tastes, and great & efficient service.
