What a pleasant place to meet for drinks, dinner, date night, or with the whole family. This was a last minute recommendation, and I am so glad we chose B101. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our drinks were mixed just right. The food was way better than expected, when looking at the other restaurants that B101 shares on the same street. Every dish had me nodding in approval and wanting another bite. The bacon-wrapped dates are an automatic favorite: creamy dates with salty crunchy bacon, drizzled with a sweet glaze. I wish there were more than 4 to a plate. I usually only get steak at steakhouses, so I was skeptical, but ordered the filet anyway....Two big thumbs up on that decision! It was cooked to a perfect medium. Tender, easy to cut, not chewy or fatty. The salt seasoning and char took the taste to another level. I love that char grilled taste! The accompanying mushrooms were sautéed perfectly. Thinly sliced to cut down on the thick, meaty chewy texture. Easy added to every bite of steak, without distracting from its flavor. The potatoes dollops rounded out the plate perfectly. The friend's halibut was light and bright. Not over cooked. The crunchy covering with a hint of mustard and citrus added a bang of Spring flavor to the dish. The fish was flanked by 2 potato-onion mini 'muffins'. They had a beautiful crunchy outside with a warm creamy inside, and a hint of soft, well-sautéed onions. Very tasty. The vegetable s on both entrees were well done and well seasoned. Scrolling through their menu, I can't wait to try their other dishes. I'm sure I will be pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a return visit!

I've been to the Bistro many times before Covid. Had excellent service, food and loved the atmosphere. This place reminds me of Eno Vino in Madison. After Covid attempted several times to stop in for a drink with my family to reflect after a devastating year we had. Poor service and horrible hospitality. Well, I decided to give it our fourth shot! Tonight was amazing! Brian the bartender was so kind and attentive! The Crabcakes were out of this world !!! The bacon wrapped dates were amazing!!! I'll be backBacon Wrapped Dates

Drinks: Phenomenal bar service from Marco the bartender. Atmosphere: Can you believe we're in Mount Horeb? Swanky bar and dining room for the troll town. Food: Delish local cheese, meat, vegetables and other yummies. $$$: I don't mind paying extra for this type of food and service

Fantastic atmosphere! It's an upscale bar and restaurant where you can feel comfortable in all attire. Lisa and Tom are great about allergies and adapting their menu to meet your needs. Knowing that I am able to find this type of cuisine (and that I can alter it without dirty looks or annoyed sighs) in a smaller town is a wonderful feeling. They also have a selective but delicious wine selection that pairs well with the food offered. Marco is great about working the entire bar and doesn't ignore you but isn't overbearing. We had two of the features: chilled Asian salad and the baked trout. They were exceptional! We asked when they would be repeated again, Lisa mentioned that they would see what they can do at that time. Hopefully these two items will be repeated more often!

When we go to Mt. Horeb, we make sure to dine at Bistro 101, which is by far the best restaurant around. We always sit at a two-top by the bar, because the bartender is very knowledgeable and outgoing, so we tend to learn a lot about different liquids when we are there. Plus, they tend to stock rare and unique spirits, so trying them is always a fun experience. We ordered the mushroom bisque, the chilled trout appetizer, the Greek chicken, and the pesto pasta. The soup was perfect: creamy without overdoing it, and with a perfect mushroom taste. I could have eaten five more bowls (I didn't). Of course, the trout was wonderful -- served on baguette slices and topped with red onion, the combination of flavors was perfect. I liked my pesto pasta, although I am not a big fan of zucchini in pasta, as it always seems like more of a filler than a vegetable that is actually enjoyable. But the pesto itself was very good. S. really liked his Greek chicken, although the potatoes and vegetables were his favorite parts. The service at Bistro 101 can't be beat. We chatted with the staff about the World Cup and unique brands of gin and whiskey, and we didn't want for anything. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Mt. Horeb.

Very overpriced. Make the short trip to Madison for far better options, prices and experience.

Really enjoyed this restaurant when we had occasion to travel through Mt,Horeb. They had an…read moreoriginal menu (rather than the same old same old) with lots of unique choices. We shared two appetizers, and together they made a wonderful lunch. We had crepes filled with chicken and the Flower Sprouts. Both are highly recommended, as is the restaurant!

Outside and inside this place looks great. Nice big ramp for those who have issues with stairs…read more (we are both seniors, so I liked the ramp) Large menu looks promising. The Peach Mimosa was huge and flawless. The tea was fine... had that strong mineral taste that you get in SW Wisconsin... but that is expected. Ordered the "Flower Sprouts" appetizer... roasted Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Cauliflower with cheese. The Brussel Sprouts were about half the plate and they were HARD... like even a knife would not cut one... a fork could not pierce one. They were derived by a runner... and the waitress did not check back with us... so we had to tell the food runner when he brought the meals. Lunch was the Deluxe Caesar Salad, and I added Chicken. Husband had the 9" Thai Chicken Pizza. Both delivered by a food runner.. still have not had the waitress stop by. The Thai pizza was BLAND.... and very very tough. Was supposed to have a cracker like crust. Despite having been cut in the kitchen.. the slices could not be easily eaten. Hard to cut with a knife... and chewing was difficult. He at a bit of it and gave up. My DELUXE Caesar Salad with chicken.... had very little dressing. The mixed greens were mostly the bottom end of the stalks... no tomatoes (as pictured. I had to look for the cheese. A few croutons and oddly Polenta. The dressing tasted like it was oil and vinegar with a bit of Caesar dressing mixed in... and again, very little of that too. Still have not been approached by the waitress... last saw her when the drinks were delivered. No offer for a refill on my Iced Tea... cuz... well, she would have to come by the table to do that. She was there, but kept going by us as she waited on other tables. Finally my husband put his credit card on the edge of the table... trying to signal that we were READY to leave. After about five minutes of that... I finally had to flag her down.... and she stopped and asked if we wanted boxes... because the food was obviously not eaten... especially his pizza. Told her of the issues... and she said... I will see what I can do. Came back and said the appetizer was taken off the bill. (woo woo). Again... nice place, nice atmosphere... but service and food were greatly lacking.

We were a little nervous when we pulled into the parking lot and saw a broken window. But inside was clean, a little dated but nothing to worry about. There were several cars in the parking lot so we figured it was a popular place. There were several breakfast choices and the three of us chose something different. The food was fresh and delicious, no one had a bad meal. The young servers were polite and helpful. Overall a nice experience, as many locals would agree because they came to visit with each other at various tables. We would come back if in the area.

It is dated but the day we visited you can tell there are some townie regulars. The gentleman who was our waiter was very nice. He seated us upon arrival and was attentive being the only server for us and a big table top of 9. There was a couple other tables but not busy midday. Full menu to choose from. We put in our order. We asked to share a breakfast bowl. It was hash browns with veggies, bacon and a couple hard eggs on top. Came with choice of bread and he brought the plate so we could split it. It was filling and good. It seemed to lack some flavor but again it was fresh and plenty.
