ordered room service while staying at the kimberly and bistango didn't disappoint although we never set food inside the restaurant, the atmosphere looked lovely and like a great date night in the city the service team was exceptional and our food arrived quickly the lasagna was solid...not the best i've ever had but definitely not a chain nonsense. it was a bit too oily for my preference but the flavor was there and paired with a great cabernet it was a great dinner for two i would explore their menu a bit more next time im in the city

I've worked in the area for over a decade and have seen the Kimberly Hotel but never have gone in. I'm glad I actually stopped by Bistango (in the hotel) when a friend invited us to. The restaurant has a nice covered outdoor section and a decent-sized indoor seating area. It would be really good for a business lunch or dinner because it's quite a spacious spot and you don't feel like the tables are on top of each other compared to some other Italian restaurants in the area. It's definitely a different vibe, but not in a bad way. The pasta selection is really good. My wife and I both enjoyed our pastas! Our friend's steak and eggs with chimicurri also looked fantastic. All in all a solid spot

Beautiful restaurant in The Kimberly Hotel. You have your choice of elegant and beautiful seating outside in front of the hotel, you can dine in the lobby, bar, or in the actual restaurant. As you enter you will see the most marvelous fish tank which prob cost over fifty thousand to put into the hotel. Truly breathtaking even if you are foreign to the world of fish tank ownership. They brough out bread complimentary to start our meal, one was gluten free bread for my girlfriend and non-gluten free bread for me. The bread was delish and warm which they brought out with a humus which had what tasted like truffle oil in it. I started with a cab that had a healthy pour and lasted me throughout the meal. Entree was the Veal Milanese - arugula, shaved fennel, cherry tomato, Pecorino cheese, balsamic glaze. The veal was enough for at least three servings, I also ordered a side of pasta Bolognese which I devoured. Pasta was fresh and homemade, and the Bolognese sauce was expertly prepared. They put basically an entire arugula salad on top of my veal, but I am not complaining, it pairs quite well if you want veal and arugula in all yours bites you surely will be able to. My girlfriend chose the mushroom farfalle. The pasta was in a truffle oil sauce, and it tasted extremely light, pairing very well with the delicious shiitake mushrooms and asparagus. I really cannot find any faults with this restaurant selection and highly recommend if you are looking for a quality meal that will not break the bank in Midtown East Manhattan. As always people SYOY!!!

Bistango was amazing! Fully gluten-free and/or gluten-free available. I started with the lemon hummus and gluten-free bread a real treat. My husband's kale Caesar was light & delicious. My main dish was branzino, a white fish grilled to perfection, served with sautéed spinach & charred lemon, which had great flavor. Everything was fresh and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended!!! Cool vibe too!

Came here with a friend for brunch over the weekend because I'd heard great things about this restaurant being particularly attentive regarding gluten-free dietary accommodations. Ambiance of the restaurant was pretty nice, though lighting was a bit dark. Everything on the menu sounded really good and we had a bit of a hard time trying to figure out what to order. I got the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and a side salad, my friend got an eggs benedict with prosciutto and polenta as the base with home fries, and we shared truffle fries as an app. Overall, food was tasty and prices are reasonable for the portion sizes you get. I especially liked the truffle fries. The main disappointment from this place was that I ended up getting charged a different price than what I had written on my bill, and I would've expected a place on the fancier end (like this restaurant) to be way more careful and on top of this. I have a specific habit of tipping so that I'm always leaving a round number (maybe this is just my OCD habit lol), so it's very obvious to me whenever I see charges on my card that look off. It might've been a one-time mistake, and I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt - as the difference that I was charged wasn't that far off from what I'd written down, but it still feels a bit underhanded and makes me hesitate to come back.

Great place for a nice Italian dinner near our hotel a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Food was well prepared, homemade, hot and fresh. Italian staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommended

Came here twice within a span of a few years and happy to note the consistency in service. My friend made same day reservations and at first they didn't have anything for us but after a few minutes we were seated. Very cozy and comfortable room, elegant and quiet - the tables were well spaced. Service was incredible- warm, kind accommodating and super classy. Crispy bread to start with a delightful garlic and lemon dip. My friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs - not on the menu but the waiter was eager to oblige- she loved it. I ordered the Saffron Pasta - no butter, extra cheese - very delicious but not super filling. I wished the pieces of broccoli robe were bigger. We both ordered a cocktail - the spiked cider - also good very sweet and delightful!

I came here with my brother and his wife in mid-October. The menu is accommodating to everyone and I was able to order a lower carb meal featuring chicken breast, which was bone in and very moist, mushrooms, and cauliflower. It was delicious. My brother ordered the lobster ravioli and said it was amazing. They also have a great wine menu and the Barbera was especially good. The service was perfect and even they were crowded we could hold a conversation.

Bistango is completely gluten free! Everything on the menu is gluten free, which is exciting! We got several appetizers, all of them were delicious. Would definitely recommend the calamari. We were all disappointed in the main entrees. Would definitely not recommend the lasagna. It was very bland. Other entrees that my group got were just average. The chocolate lava cake is delicious! The staff was very friendly and there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We made a reservation so not sure how difficult it would be getting in regularly... cute decor and a nice ambiance in the restaurant!

Absolutely love this place!! Bistango is literally my girlfriend and I favorite restaurant out of the whole city. From the first time eating at the restaurant, the food will make your mouth water and like my mom use to say is "it must be good cause y'all quiet" Then the staff provided exceptional hospitality that made the experience ten times better and makes us want to come back for more, along with the food. Now for the food, which by the way anything on the menu can be made gluten free!!! Making it gluten free you couldn't tell the difference from gluten filled food. Our go-to food choices are: Charcuterie Board w/ gluten free bread , Green Spinach Ravioli*, Pancetta Mushroom Papparadella, Tiramisu, and Pistachio Cannoli. When eating this you can taste the freshness, all the individual ingredients, and the love & care they put into each of the entrees. *Honorable mention entree: The Lasagna Bolognesewas an alternative to when the Green Spinach Ravioli, even though my girlfriend was devastated, but the lasagna did not disappoint our taste bud. To wrap it up lol we will be coming back to be in foodie heaven again!

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way.
