But it's worth the wait. We chose to build our own burgers - choose your protein, cheese, toppings and sauces. We also chose the onion rings and French fries for our sides with the combo meal. Burgers are cooked smashed on hot griddle that you can watch being prepared as you wait. They also offer milkshakes made with real ice cream. The place is clean and has many comfortable tables to sit and enjoy dining in. They also have a TV and outlets to work on your laptop. Loved the decor!

This is a owner-run spot where they take real pride in both the food and the service, and it shows. And the prices? Honestly some of the best I've seen in a long time. We have had people say it's a pretty good burger. So, here we are going to try out the burgers. It's a drive thru order no inside sitting. You can park and walk up to a window and order and sit outside on a few benches and tables set up front. The drive thru work like this, You order on one side of the Shack and pick up on the other side. This is not a fast food chain, each order is made fresh with care from the time you order to the time you pick up. From the person who took our order to the person that gave us our order was friendly and fabulous!! Ordered two cheeseburger combos. Which was 2 big cheeseburgers, 2 huge fries and 2 drinks for $25.60. We have never had a burger and fries that were so hot and delicious!! We will definitely be returning to try out their other food items and milkshakes!!

The restaurant is in a strip mall anchored by a Superstore and fairly new. It's great to see amenities popping up around that area. Parking was plentiful. Walking inside brought you back to the past with a diner type vibe. You line up to order and then sit down and they bring the food to you. You have option of pre-set burgers or build your own with what toppings and sauces you like. They also have combos where you can add a side and drink. My wife decided to get a single build your own cheeseburger so she could customize it. The kids ordered the Classic combo (one with onion rings and vanilla milkshake and the other with fries and Orange Fanta to share). I decided on the haddock. Food was so good. Fries were crisp and moist inside. Onion rings were crunchy. The family thoroughly enjoyed the burgers. The haddock was great but could use a bigger patty (the bun was bigger than the patty). Place is open and reminds of a diner. My son and I even watched them flip the burgers which was cool. A few tables to sit down and eat. Staff were friendly. We saw quite a few pick-up orders. We will definitely be back.

It's worth noting that this is a double smash burger. The poutine side with the burger was well put together, the fries were crispy and well salted. The fried brussel sprouts on the other hand were a little bit of a confusing dish. This dish is surprisingly quite light on brussel sprouts and seems almost more like it's meant to be a salad. In addition, while the sprouts are fried and crispy, the same cannot be said for the bacon. Overall, I'd like to see more Brussels, crispy bacon to better crumble around the sprouts and less arugula. The burnt ends were a pretty good dish but were little tougher than I would normally expect from a pice of meat like that and had a texture more similar to rib caps instead of brisket. They also didn't seem to have been smoked on a smoker and just had a smokey glaze instead. I really liked the vibe of this place, it's a very relaxed environment to come and unwind at after a long day out in the parks. There's a semi-private outdoor patio with plenty of seating and good spacing between the tables. I also really thought that the service here was great, the staff were all amazing and super friendly. Everything I ordered was brought out quickly and my glasses were always refilled without me even having to ask.

It's one of those places that isn't made to look like an old style drive thru - it just is that way. Order something off the plentiful back lit menu signs, featuring faded colour food photos. Or, if you're feeling lucky, you could try your hand at their crane game - stocked with stuffed animals that look like they've been there since the good ol' diner days. The burgers are by no means artisanal, but they're pretty tasty in that truck stop diner kind of way, and especially good when you take the price into consideration. Single burgers clock in around the $4 mark and fully loaded double burgers around $6. It's exactly what you'd want in a small town burger joint. They've even got free wifi, so if you're looking for a lunch stop that's difference from the Timmy's or A&W in town, Burger Baron would be a great stop.
