Bishops was employed by our home warranty company to come fix a drain issue in our kitchen. They were so careless with the repair that they broke a pipe. Bishops didn't even check their work leaving this broken pipe to flood our basement, ruining our personal property and causing damage to her home. When my husband called to notify Bishops of the damage to our property he was cussed out and hung up on. After consulting with a reputable plumber, it was brought to our attention that the broken pipe repair completed by Bishops was not done properly and will fail. When I called to see about the resolution for the damage that they created at our property Bishops told me they were not responsible for the damage and would do nothing to make this right. Because of their negligence, laziness and lack of professionalism, our property was damaged. I would not recommend this company to do any work on anyone's property ever again. Horrible. They've got a little scam going with the home warranty companies. They send out a low paid unskilled technician to the service calls and they don't have the expertise to fix anything but they get paid anyways. The last one broke my faucet and flooded my bathroom and then lied to the warranty company about it so it wasn't covered. read more

BEWARE!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!!! If I could give this company and its owner a negative star rating, I would!! Absolutely the WORST people and experience! They are who my warranty company dispatched, otherwise I would have never picked them. The owner, Robert, is a terrible person and even worse plumber! He sent his guys out for a very simple job -- I had a leak outside the house that was clearly coming from a broken pipe, and water was rising from the ground and pooling. I called it in as an emergency call and they couldn't come for 4 days! His guys finally came, did not dig to look for this issue, and guaranteed me that it was not a plumbing issue and that I needed to get a landscaper. I asked them to check again because it was clear it was plumbing, and they laughed and reassured me it was not! I had to wait to get a landscaper, meanwhile gallons of water got wasted. I had to pay a landscaper out of pocket to dig (which could have been avoided if Bishop did their job!) and find the broken pipe, as I predicted. I called Bishop back and spoke to the owner Robert this time, told him the story and he said he would come and look at it. When he finally showed up a couple of days later, he said it was an obvious plumbing issue -- never did he apologize for his guys not doing their job, or admit that they were wrong. He told me he'd let me know by the next day when they will be coming to fix it, once my warranty company approved the job. He never contacted me, and I got a message from the warranty that another plumber was dispatched. When I called Robert to ask what's going on, he said they did not have the leak detection equipment needed to find the leak. P.S. Turned out neither did the newly dispatched plumber! Yet he came and fixed the problem immediately - no BS! Throughout all this, I asked Robert Bishop to reimburse me for the landscaper I had to hire to dig and find the problem, bc it was their mistake and they should reimburse at least for what I paid, let alone the water bill I got bc of the time it took due to their incompetence. Each time I spoke with him, he was condescending, unapologetic, and simply rude and indifferent. After calling multiple times asking to be reimbursed and him ignoring my calls and messages, I decided it's best to warn others because, as a business owner myself, I would NEVER treat my customers this way! read more

We had another plumber come out as an emergency and while they were redoing the pipes for another area, they found that Bishop Plumbing didn't follow code for Chico and didn't replace the orangeburg pipes so our new plumber had to replace the orangeburg pipes and re-do what Bishop did. $600 wasted. read more

This was the second time our home warranty company sent Bishop Plumbing out for a problem. They called us very quickly after being notified by the warranty company and scheduled a next day visit. The first time they had to replace our toilet, went out to get one, brought it back and installed it immediately. They even called us from the store to ask if we wanted the equivalent available or an upgrade. The second time they called us, were on time as usual, and our issue was resolved in less than 24 hours! Our water heater went out and our home warranty sent Bishops Plumbing They came out promptly and on time to check what was going on. We needed a new hot water heater, the technician (who I forgot to get the name of) took photos and sent them to the warranty company for approval. Our valve that led water to the unit wouldn't close all the way, so another person (yhr owner) came out right away to remove the valve to stop the leaking so we could use the cold water at least. (We had to turn it off at the main due to the leaking, they took care of this right away) We did have to wait for the install due to warranty company needing to order the water heater, but that was not a delay with this company. Bishops plumbing was prompt to answer phone calls and took care of us right away. Their receptionist was nice, and took care of everything right away. The owner came out to fix the pipe valve, and was prompt and considerate. Their technician who installed the water heater was Michael, and he was fantastic. Personable, professional, kind and considerate. He had the same tech who came out to take photos with him, and he was again helpful and nice. When I bought my house, I purchased a home warranty. Upon moving in, I discovered the hot water heater was not working correctly; it was making an awful popping sound (Googled the issue and learned there is sediment buildup), and the water was not hot. I called my home warranty, and they assigned Bishop Plumbing. I received a prompt and polite phone call setting up the appointment, and got the service call scheduled. The plumber arrived, and inspected the water heater. He told my wife the sound was due to sediment build up (we knew this because of Google), the temperature dial on the hot water heater was turned almost all the way down. He then told my wife hot water heaters are not covered (not sure what that means since he was dispatched to fix a water heater), but that he could sell her a new one. She said no thank you, paid him his $75 fee, and he went on his way. Here is the catch; the very first thing I checked when I noticed we were not getting hot water was the temperature control knob on the water heater. It was in the SAME EXACT place after he left and after he told my wife he changed the temperature. He did not change the temperature. He lied. I will not use this company again. I filed a complaint with the home warranty company, and I am filing a complaint with the California Contractors Licensing Board. read more

I can't believe all these bad reviews. I only had 1 experience with Bishop plumbing and I also was using them because they were sent to my house through a call with my home warranty company. They scheduled the appointment the very next day after I filed my claim, they were not only on time but slightly earlier than scheduled. They fixed the problem with my water heater quickly and also gave me some tips on keeping it working. I would recommend them and I plan on using them for my future plumbing problems. Bishop plumping was contracted under our home warranty for an emergency plumbing issue. They couldn't come out for 24 hours, despite it being an emergency and our house without water. They left after two hours without finishing the job, due to a bigger emergency (they said someone had a hole punched through a shower wall.) They said they would return the next afternoon. I called a more professional company who cleaned up their shoddy half finished job and said they made the issue worse by cutting the water line, which was completely unnecessary. They completely misdiagnosed the reason why our three toilets were not flushing stating we needed three new toilets to due the buildup of calcium carbonate. Another company came to provide a second opinion and immediately diagnosed the septic tank pump had failed. Once the pump was replaced all toilets flushed properly. Their mistake cost us over $1000 due to our home warranty company receiving an incorrect diagnosis. read more

If only zero stars were an option!! They are horrible. If they can't do a Home Warranty call, they just ignore the request without communicating to anybody. It's common sense, if you can't do the call, you let them know so they can find someone else that can. Due to their unprofessional behavior 3 days have past without the plumbing problem getting resolved. I will never call them or recommend them to anyone. Common sense is necessary to fix plumbing issues, and clearly they have none. They also have no compassion for the person waiting 3 days for a response or any type of contact (even smoke signals) to get their plumbing issue handled. Our home warranty company picked Bishop. They came out and were not equiped to do the job. Said they would not bill our warranty and left. We ended up having to call an uncovered company and paid full price. At the time that Bishop came, they knew that the warranty company bills as soon as they arrive on the property. Got a bill from the warranty for Bishop just "visiting", called Bishop and they said I should have known I would be billed just for them appearing at my house. I was duped! This company was sent by my home warranty company to fix my water heater. They fixed it but the heater was so loud it sounded like a jet engine taking off in my home. They came back out and stated that this was not normal and they would notify the warranty company. They did not, after multiple calls, they never returned my call and notified my warranty company that the job was complete. Now not only is the heater taking off like a jet so is my bathtub when I turn on the water. I have a home warranty and my electric water heater was tripping the reset button and had scalding hot water, The home warranty company contacted "Bishop Plumbing" located in Oroville California. They called the same day I repoted the issue and came the next day at the time they said they would. The plumber (I did not get his name) was friendly, went out of his way and stayed late to fix the thermostat problem. He gave me some tips on care of the water heater and said if there were any problems to contact the home warranty company and that he would come back and take care of it.
