I have been there twice and have not been too happy. The first time was when it first opened so I expected some kinks to be still in need of working out ....took the family there and two of the kids had eggs that came out to the table under-cooked. There are kinks and then there are KINKS. Then I went with my sister on Sunday and had lunch there. My turkey / cranberry sandwich was ok. The tomatoes were not even hot-house ripe. The tomato basil soup came out luke warm (I suspect they poured it in a cold bowl). My sister's omelette looked pretty good. And I have to say that the hashbrowns were terrific. Service was just ok. I'll give it one more try for breakfast so stay tuned. read more

This was my second and last time going to Biscuits Cafe. Both times I tried different omelettes filled with bland wet tasteless contents. Stay far away from the fajita omelette folks, the chicken is like reformed mcnugget meat that's been overcooked into mushy oblivion. My fiance had the Huevos Rancheros the first time and the Breakfast Burrito the second, both inducing immediate mild mexicana-style diarrhea. Yuck, I know, but we need to let the hungry public know not to go to ths place! Service isn't any better: they take forever, never refilled our coffee or asked how our food was, probably to avoid our scathing review. I've had lunch there twice. This rating pertains to the experience I had today. Ordered the French Toast and Meat Scramble. Food was great but the service was horrible. It took an hour from the time I sat down until the time I received my food (arrived about 10:35am on Monday). Service was poor. The waitress (Kathleen) took our order, delivered it, but never came back to check on us or refill our drinks. The Biscuits in both West Linn and Oregon City are great. Always full. I always promise myself that I will choose something different each time, yet always end up ordering Joe's Scramble. The only real decision is pancakes or biscuits? Both excellent. I don't know what other Biscuits are like, but after reading other reviews, I think some people are overly critical. We've never been disappointed at any of them I've been to. Everyone likes their hash browns cooked differently. One person complained that the cook needs to learn how to cook them because they were overly browned. Come on! Momma isn't cooking your food just for you here. Let them know how you like them I want mine crispy. When I have out-of-state visitors, we always go to Biscuits at least once for breakfast/lunch. Lots of selection whichever meal you want to eat. As everywhere, staffing is a problem, so there was one poor server covering the entire restaurant. Give them a break if service was a little slow, or apply for a job to help out. Maybe other locations are not as good, but the Oregon City and West Linn locations are great. read more

Not much to say about this strip mall diner. I was excited to eat here, thinking the biscuits would be out of this world - since the restaurant is named after them. However; after some very slow service, we got our $9.99 2 biscuit breakfast (with 2 eggs and 2 sausage) and the biscuits were small and doughy. Truthfully, they weren't much different then the ones you get from the Pillsbury pop-open cans. The gravy was good, but it was the same country gravy some restaurants buy from the large cans (probably Sysco). Everything was a little cold (probably sat in the pick up window too long) so our waitress brought us heated up gravy, so that made the meal a little better. You can't really goof up scrambled eggs or sausage, so they were fine. We sat a rather long time waiting for our check, only to discover it'd been left on our table when our food was served. We then were able to leave, since you pay at the front (which we didn't know). The place itself is just a square room. It's clean, but I couldn't even tell you if there was art on the walls. It was that nondescript. All in all, I was a little disappointed....but only because a specific food should be really great if the restaurant is going to be named after it. read more

I'll admit I'm not the best person to write a review on Breakfast joints, but circumstances found me here for Breakfast twice recently. If I would have written this review after the first time, it would be one or two stars, but because I gave it another shot (The only reason I did was because my other choices were MacDonalds or Shari's) they get at least one more star. The first time, I was really in the hunt for Huevos Rancheros, I figured it would be good because both cooks spoke Spanish, boy was I wrong! It was awful, possibly the worst I've ever had, the sauce tasted like canned salsa from the Dollar store and the Tortillas were tough and hardly edible, the hash browns tasted like they came fresh out of the freezer. Giving them the benefit of the doubt.....OK beings how I knew how bad my other potential choices were....I went back, this time for a more standard choice of breakfast, eggs, sausage, toast and red potatoes instead of those disgusting, pre-formed, frozen hash browns. The Sausage was extra large and tasty, if not a bit over greasy, the potatoes were good, the toast was over buttered and the eggs were just right. Combine all that with two very perky and attractive waitresses that kept my coffee cup filled and they earned another star. If I find myself in the area again needing breakfast, I may come back, unless I can find some good Huevos Rancheros nearby. read more

We have been going to Biscuits for several years and were so excited when this one opened up in WL! The staff has always been very friendly, and there's even a waitress who is the spittin' image of Renee Zellweger (which, of course, is very important to know before you go)! I like most Biscuits Cafes, the food is usually fresh, flavorful and filling. I've had the exact opposite the two times I've eaten at the one in West Linn. The Belgian Waffles with fruit were, and I'm being nice, garbage. Three of us ordered the same thing at the same time and they all came out at different times (15 minute separations) because they 'only have one iron' and the 'fruit' was frost-bitten hald-frozen strawberries, barely thawed and watery...gross (not even a compote)! Waffle was all bubbles and no density. None of us, including my 11 year old daughter who will eat anything, could choke down even 25% of the meal. They comp'd one meal. We walked out of there this time hungry and disappointed. Great attention by the server saved them from only getting one star. read more

I'm all about giving local businesses a chance but Kathy burned Biscuits Cafe on this one. Horrible service!! We were seated, given our beverages and then 10 min later Kathy came to take our order. From there it took 45 min (no joke - FORTY FIVE minutes) to get our food. It was two of us, with simple brunch orders. The place was not packed as it was weekday brunch. Meanwhile, our drinks are empty and Kathy never once came to check on us. After we finished our food, no bill was delivered so we paid up front. There we had to ask for our to-go boxes. I live nearby in West Linn, and have tried three or four times to have a positive experience at Biscuits Cafe. Unfortunately, the reality is that this place started out as a sub-standard fast food breakfast joint, and has gone down-hill since it opened. To summarize: - The service is always horrific...you won't even hear from a server to take your order until you've had your drink order botched repeatedly - The food is at best truck stop quality...no local ingredients, no fresh fruit, no real syrup, etc, etc - The staff is over-worked, and not interested in even attempting to get your order right, instead relying on trying to correct it all once it comes out off of the menu - Tables, furniture, plates, and utensils are all dirty, old, and generally unappetizing to eat off of. - No real kids menu...if you have kids, I recommend you let three of them share an order of the French toast (or similar), then plan to spend the rest of the day dealing with whatever results from them ingesting that much corn syrup and low quality fried bread. You aren't going to get a real breakfast here, so you will be much better off going across the street to Sharis (gag!), where you at least won't be overcharged for the truck stop cuisine, and the coffee is better too. So I've been here before and had wonderful service! Unfortunately today, not so much. I ordered the southwest delight scramble but instead asked for the eggs over medium. Server didn't ask if we needed anything or checked on us after we received our food. I didn't receive my salsa and sour cream and waited for someone to ask how everything was. No one did. So I went up and asked for it. Our server has not been over once since we received our food. We waited 15 minutes for coffee and water refills all done by servers not our own. I've received countless glares for asking for my sides I should receive with my meal. I really like this place but he server today must be having an off day. Hope it gets better. Pleasant experience here at Biscuits Cafe. We stopped in for brunch on a whim and the place was crackin! Luckily we didn't have to wait long for a table and service as the staff was quick and attentive to our needs. Some in our party ordered breakfast and I had lunch. Half sandwich, soup and salad was just what I needed. Wait staff was nice enough to swap out some fries for my soup as I was craving some fried goods. Then breakfast portion was big and from what I was told very delicious. We will keep Biscuits in mind on those weekends when you just need some good old diner foods. read more

Some of the things that went wrong today were beyond the control of my server and the restaurant, and that is fine. When we were sat, they were really busy, so we waited about ten minutes before we could put a drink order in-no problem. She never came back with cream for the coffee, so I just pillaged from a table that had already left- no problem. When our food was dropped off they forgot to bring the toast, I was starting to get a little annoyed but waved down the service support staff and asked him to just give our server a heads up about it please. My eight year old daughter says that her chicken fried steak was chewy, so I look at it and it's RAW. Not oh a little pink my poor angel-but not cooked. I waited around 5 minutes for a check back, but we were in the last booth out of the way, so I went and found her. She said that it was disgusting and would take it off the bill. I had to ask her to take the split charge off the bill as well when she brought it back. We had all gotten the same thing, and my daughters had split the CSF that was raw. The manager never came to our table. At the end of the meal the toast came out, which was sort of amusing. When we were paying I asked why the manager never came to our table, my child eating raw meat was kind of a big deal to me. Our server (T), said that she had comp power and that the manager didn't need to. I let her know that it was more for guest experience than executive power. T said that Kathleen, the manager was sitting at a table in the corner, and wanted to know if she should get her. No. I think I'm going to take a break on Biscuits for a while, I can understand long wait times, missing items, and no check backs- but not going to a table to immediately checking on a guest concern is extremely unprofessional. read more

Been here twice. We thought it would be great since the place is generally packed. We went in for a father-daughter breakfast which has become a tradition with me. The helpings are huge - double super sized. I was starved yet could only finish half my meal. I had a chicken fajitas omelette the first time and a chorizo omelette the second. Both times, the veggies in the folded-over dish were fresh and crispy. The chicken was dried out and grossed me out when I looked at it. The chorizo sausage didn't taste good to me at all. The next time I visit I'll probably try their veggie omelettes and if that's bad then there won't be a fourth visit! read more

This is our go to for big brefeses. My wife and I normally split one order. Im let's are humungous. Only fault is the sausage gravy is way too thick. Spoon in some bacon grease and more cream or milk in mine next time service is always awesome as well. read more

I used to visit Biscuits frequenlty. There service has always been so-so, nothing to write home about. In the past year they have raised their prices significantly about 20%. I was appalled by the huge price increase, and expect its due to the rise in minimum wages. I am not going to pay a 20% increase to cover the minimum wage so I eat here rarely now. Its unfortunate, but expecting the customer to take the brunt of the wage increase is not fair. The last time, I ate here, I did not tip due to the price increase and medicore service. read more
