This is by far the best Biscuits Café I have been to. I usually go to Oregon city but this one blow some away as far as the food, quality, cleanliness, and portion size. My waitress was amazing and so nice and helpful. I ordered the original breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns in an English muffin with jam. I'll start by saying the flavor of the food was wonderful, so thank you to the kitchen staff. The wait staff however are the reason for a poor review. We walk in and there were two couples ahead of our group of four. The bus boys nor the waitresses even acknowledged that there were people standing in the front. There were so many plates of food lined up under the warmer that the kitchen staff couldn't put out any more. When we finally got seated by the snappy waitress, we didn't get waters or silverware from the bus boys (whose job it was to do this). When we were finally waited on, it took forever to get our drinks. I'd ordered a Bloody Mary, never received it. When we got our food it was cold (and two people got their food then forever before the other two plates came out). Again, flavor was great (thank you cooks), but it was all cold. We never got checked on the entire time we ate. I finally had to go up and ask for the check, which took 4 people pretending I didn't exist before I finally got it. Also told the waitress to make sure the Bloody Mary wasn't on there since I never received it and the waitress's response was "I took it off already"... not "oh I'm so sorry about that" or coming and asking about it when she realized she didn't give it to me... Needless to say there was no tip. There was mention that a staff member had to leave early due to emergency, which I can understand that. But this is our second time here (last was about 5 months ago) and the service was just as bad with some excuse the first time. Their bus boys are too busy having to help each other do a terrible job that they don't get anything done. The waitresses just play this "if I don't acknowledge that you're here, you'll go away" game. Sad because like I said, the food had great flavor and the place has great potential. Yummy. I went with the American Diner burger with fries. I substituted the American cheese with cheddar cheese and did grilled onions. The burger was huge. So much so that I could even bite it. I've gone to Biscuits a few times since I've lived in West Linn and it took me a while to figure out what worked for me. BYOB seems to be the way to go because it's the least expensive breakfast option and you have a lot of choices for what to get. I usually go with 2 buttermilk pancakes, meat, and fruit to balance things out. This has worked for me and it's pretty good tasting meal. But it took me a while to figure out what I liked because I genuinely tried so many things on the breakfast menu and kept being disappointed. I feel like I can never enjoy their eggs; they're always so runny no matter how you ask them to be cooked. And I once had a very bland breakfast burrito. But their sweets are good so I'd just stick with pancakes cause they're not that hard to mess up. The service is always great here though the waiters/waitresses are very kind and always checking in on you. They seem to work pretty hard too considering how busy this place can get-- which I'd say is the best time to go. This place is usually busy and I think that adds the to the "home" feeling. Not certain this is the one we visited, but the breakfast we had ( shared) was SUPER DELICIOUS, huge and well prepared/presented! I wish I had taken photos! Huge veggie omelette, 4 slices bacon, huge yummy hash browns ( perfectly crisped!) , TWO HUGE YUMMY pancakes and I never eat them, so only indulged in a bite. Coffee was OUTSTANDING. I was in the area for business and came to eat here all week! First of all, most restaurants, (all across America it seems) are having a hard time finding staff. That being said, we only had 2 ladies taking care of the whole restaurant & the takeout orders. The wait wasn't long for food. Now to the food...it was really good. The portions were huge and prepared well. I am very particular about my eggs. They were perfect every time. I did not have a disappointing breakfast all week. A year and a half later and I'm ready to downgrade a star. I'm totally over their scrambles and omelets. My favorite thing on the menu is their french toast with berries. The two main issues I have with Biscuits restaurants is that they are going for a casual family breakfast place, but there isn't a good way to order a reasonably priced children's meal. We can't leave the place without spending $40+ for our family's breakfast. When you consider that food is pretty comparable to Shari's, it just gets painful. I've never seen a discount or coupon and service can be slow. The other issue is the coffee. It is local, Eden Way, but just not one of my favorites. I recently had a conversation with someone in West Linn about that 'biscuit place.' They were surprised that I didn't particularly care for it, then I realized we were talking about two different places. They were asking about Pine State Biscuits in Portland. Saturday Breakfast - Saturday disappointment Brought my mom here for breakfast - she always loves their red potatoes and I always order the corned beef hash - neither of us has ever been disappointed until our visit to this location. The potatoes were barely room temperature - and the Hash?? WTF I hope this is just a 1-off because if all the biscuits are changing their recipe I will not be eating there anymore. The hash on Saturday tasted like it was boiled. It was also about half of the normal portion. when the waitress came to ask if we wanted any boxes we both said NO thank you - we told her about the cold potatoes and the boiled hash and she didn't do anything. Didn't tell a manager, didn't offer to get us something different, nothing. I'll go back to the biscuits in Happy Valley to make sure this isn't a company wide thing, but I wont be back to this one! Dropped in with the kids for breakfast during spring break. On this day we had supper fast service. Loved it. My attempt to eat healthy got me the oatmeal. It was ok for oatmeal. Came with two packages, one nuts and one dried fruit. Of course it also came with brown sugar and milk. My daughter got chocolate chip pancakes. They were "fluffy" according to my daughter and she liked them. My son got waffles with fruit, eggs and bacon. I always live the bacon here. Well, he ate the bacon first before I could steal a piece. Dang him. He chowed down in the waffles. Left most of the scrambled eggs behind. He was full, but I tried them and thought they were overlooked. The coffee refills were flowing for us, which is good and bad. Definitely overdid the caffeine on this day. Our waitress was nice. I'd give her a 7 for service. Very polite. read more

It would have been nice to taste the food here, considering the prices they charge for it, but we left before we had the chance. The cafe wasn't too busy and we were promptly seated in a far back corner booth. Our drink order was taken and we waited...and we waited. We flagged a bus boy down and ordered coffee and tea for a second time. A few minutes later our drinks arrived, but we still hadn't seen our server. We waited...and waited. Then suddenly the most peculiar thing happened. The table next to us was turned lengthwise and 4 chairs set up around it. We looked at each other - they weren't going to sit a 5 top next to us, were they? Oh yes they were. So there we were in the far corner of the cafe with a 5 top butted up against our table. They were so close that a server wouldn't have been able to drop our food off or refill our drinks - which they didn't. We spent 45 minutes at Biscuits Cafe and much of that time boxed into the corner by a family of five. It was very uncomfortable and extremely poor service. Not impressed. I'll give it one more shot. The meat lover skillet had an awful lot of processed spongy ham and bacon. The eggs were also overcooked and rubbery. The plate of food was not visually or taste appealing at all. I'd give the hashbrowns a 6 out of 10. Coffee was decent at least. All this was $14. Not a good value at all. The customer service was lacking as well. I don't expect the staff to kiss my feet or bow down Lion King style however, I just want to be greeted with a smile. At least try and act like you care about the customers. I felt like my presence was interrupting the staff's conversation with each other. Like me being there was a nuisance. And when the lady came back to bring me my check, I lifted the plate with the uneaten steak to ask her to please finish cooking it, instead of showing proper polite standard concerned in natural for a well tipped waitress, she turned and left. Use to come here every weekend since I moved to Oregon in 2010. Back then, I would have given them 5 stars.....that was then, this is now.... Last two times I eaten there....food was cold, toast was burnt AND cold. And, items missing. I suppose it was payback for first complaint. It was the same waitress, Jennifer, that wasn't really attentive to what she was doing. I usually say, 'Three strikes, you're out'....not this time. Twice is enough for me. I have walked out of here during a typical fuster- cluck of customer service. Why does this place stay in business (the after church crowd perhaps)? Take my advice and go across I-205 to the Shari's, the food is just as gloriously mediocre but at least you will be seated with a courteous human being wearing a smile. You would think that the second most affluent zipcode in Oregon could offer up something more substantial than this. If you do decide to brave it here, upon entering, look at the pass to see how many dishes are stacked up waiting to be delivered to tables. Five or more dishes are good indication that the wait staff is otherwise preoccupied with something other than being a waitstaff. That will be your dish sitting there getting cold. read more
