    American Diner Burger
    James Y.

Yummy. I went with the American Diner burger with fries. I substituted the American cheese with cheddar cheese and did grilled onions. The burger was huge. So much so that I could even bite it. I had to remove the two slices of tomatoes to even bite into it. The meat was juicy and tasty. The cheese had a great melt too. The fries were crispy and good.

    BYOB
    Sam K.

I've gone to Biscuits a few times since I've lived in West Linn and it took me a while to figure out what worked for me. BYOB seems to be the way to go because it's the least expensive breakfast option and you have a lot of choices for what to get. I usually go with 2 buttermilk pancakes, meat, and fruit to balance things out. This has worked for me and it's pretty good tasting meal. But it took me a while to figure out what I liked because I genuinely tried so many things on the breakfast menu and kept being disappointed. I feel like I can never enjoy their eggs; they're always so runny no matter how you ask them to be cooked. And I once had a very bland breakfast burrito. But their sweets are good so I'd just stick with pancakes cause they're not that hard to mess up. The service is always great here though the waiters/waitresses are very kind and always checking in on you. They seem to work pretty hard too considering how busy this place can get-- which I'd say is the best time to go. This place is usually busy and I think that adds the to the "home" feeling. Always tip well! These people work hard.

Just average. Food is okay but way overpriced. $16 for a sandwich and fries.

Just an FYI, because this place gets busy they request you limit your visit to 1.5 hours. Now the menu. It is vast and everything sounded so good. Between the pastries, the yummy drinks, and the menu items, I had a hard time picking. I went with a muffin and a latte. The blueberry lemon muffin was large and so tasty. I ordered a plain latte to get a baseline on the coffee making skills. It was pretty good. I'll have to try one of the seasonal drinks next time I go. This place is small. Tables are close together. I could hear everyone's business. So keep that in mind. I am going to return when I have a bit more time. Probably a bit earlier in the morning to make sure I can get a table.

Employees are pleasant, and gave excellent recommendations. You order at the counter and they give you a number. You find yourself a table. They have mugs if you consume your coffee in their premises. They also offer to go cups if that is what you want. I ordered the European fried rice. The Portuguese sausage, and avocado complimented it well. They don't skimp on their portions. I also had the mocha which was perfect. Their dessert case looked delightful. Looking forward to returning, and trying other items on their menu, and of course some pastries. Make sure to give Elka Bee's a try.

There are a few tables outside too, complete with propane heaters and umbrellas. We have been coming here with our kids since they were in highchairs. The rotating Waffle of the Month specials have always been a hit with them. The menu offers a lot of flexibility regarding component selections and preparation. Favorites include the Smoked Salmon Avocado Benedict, the Iron Miner's Scramble (eggs, red potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, black beans, and gravy), and the Lake Grove Breakfast (omelet or scramble). The food is tasty and high quality, as are the coffee and the Bloody Marys. Service is friendly and competent in our experience. Babica Hen takes reservations for parties of eight or more - otherwise, it's first come, first served. The restaurant is located next to the (formerly COVID mask-wearing) large elephant statue which is part of Lake Oswego's Gallery Without Walls outdoor sculpture exhibition. Even so, we were seated as a party of two fairly quickly, which was a great start. The highlight of our visit was definitely the service. Our server was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, quick, and always checking in at just the right times. Honestly, 10/10 service and a big reason we'd come back. As for the food, I'd say it was solid. We skipped some of their popular waffle dishes and stuck with more traditional breakfast options. Everything was well-seasoned, the portions were generous, and we left full. Nothing really stood out as a "wow" dish, but it was a good, satisfying breakfast. The drinks were decent as well. The atmosphere is pretty simple and doesn't have a lot of wow factor, but it feels like a neighborhood breakfast spot where the focus is on good food and even better hospitality. Overall, a solid local place with outstanding service, and next time we'll have to come back and give those famous waffles a try.
