It was not the worst place I have ever been but as I get older I feel when I eat out I want to only go to better than average or really good places to spend my cash and the calories. First off, no where to park. This mall does not have enough parking for the number of shops in it. I had to walk very far just to get from my car to the restaurant. Normally that is not a problem for me but it was raining and it just added to the, "Meh" Experience. It could be a huge problem for elderly or handicap patrons though. The place was packed. Is this normal or did I hit their busy time? No one could really tell me. If I am waiting I want it to be an excellent meal. The layout is not user friendly nor cozy. I think it used to be a coffee bar. The tables are packed in very tight and the space is just an open, stark room. It is so very noisy. Three balloon parties in the one hour I was there. No thanks. The wait was also too long for just an average place to eat. I ordered one of the Avocado toast meals and honestly it was not very good. Also, the eggs were cold. This is my Pet Peeve in restaurants, getting cold food. How long was it sitting to get that cold? The coffee was good though and I liked the person who served me. She works hard for sure. The menu had some cool options such as scrambles, eggs Benedict, and your typical breakfast items. My wife ordered the Cafe Mocha which she had majority hot chocolate rather than coffee, very delicious. My sister ordered the stuffed French toast, and that was almost too pretty to bite into. It was amazing! Finally, my mom ordered the fish and chips, and that did not disappoint! Normally, the fish is mostly batter and the tiniest of fish pieces- not here! The fish came in huge strips, battered lightly but so crispy! The fries were pretty good too. I asked one of the food runners about the Air Conditioning and she told me that it's been a problem for "A Couple of Months". Really? A couple of months? Note that we're now in the middle of August, in Phoenix. A couple of months means that there has been an issue for June and July.... and now August. Remember the movie: 'Bridge on the River Kwai' where the prison camp had a small hot box where they would place unruly prisoners ? It was a lot like that......only with a Denver Omelet and a slice of Sourdough Toast. (okay, that's an exaggeration, but you get the idea.) Now, I understand if the AC went out that morning.... but 'a couple of months' ?? Our waitress asked if I would like a refill on my coffee? When I told her that we were roasting.... she had a look that is best described as a sorrowful combination of empathy and embarrassment (again, she was great; no fault of hers & I tipped her 20%). I came here for breakfast with my family yesterday and it was an overall good visit. Our server Kathy was really exceptional. Very friendly, outgoing, and helped us extensively when it came to ordering my super picky 4 year old's meal. I've been wanting to try their biscuits and gravy meal but was sadly disappointed when the order arrived. The biscuits were so small and I felt robbed with the price that they charge for it. I would recommend against ordering them as it is not a good value. It was still delicious though. All of our past visits were excellent and my in-laws have made it a task to come here for breakfast whenever they are in town with us. Reading the bad reviews really made me shocked as I visited here many times and never once experienced anything bad. Watch, my next visit will be so bad after saying that lol. Decided to try this place because I was in the area and always seem to drive by it. Location was clean and busy this Friday morning. My server was Linda, she was amazing. Linda was friendly, joked with me, and kept me filled with coffee and water. I got "Joe's Scramble" which comes with 3 eggs, spinach, tomato, red onion, sausage, and parm cheese. I forgot to say no onion, but I didn't even care. It was pretty delicious. It also came with a biscuit as a side, which I asked with gravy. The biscuits were fluffy on the inside and a nice crunch on the outside. The gravy wasn't what I was expecting though. It's like and oregano style gravy rather than a southern sausage style gravy. A while back this place showed up on a search in my neighborhood for new breakfast places and I bookmarked it noting it would have to be a place I went to when not opening until 6;30 would be OK. I was the only customer in the place until just before I finished. Kelly, my server was pleasant and the only problem was she gave me a couple of minutes to look over the menu which turned into about 5 because she was chatting with the manager who was in my line of sight as I set down the menu and started playing with my phone. The remainder of the service was good. The food was good with one exception. Two cooks, one customer and the timing of the plating was off. They serve toast with soft butter on the side and the toast was stone cold and even though I spread the butter immediately it never did melt in to the bread. Now that I know I may ask them to butter it right out of the toaster next time. I prefer sitting in a chair at a table and the whole restaurant is set up that way. I came to this location several times when it was a coffee shop. At that time the decor was wonderful but the people were emotionless assholes and the prices were too high. Breakfast food is my favorite and I have seen this place several times. No clue when it opened because never saw any cars when I drove by. Today was different. The parking lot was virtually packed. When I walked in the first words out of my worth were, "They ruined it!" It's drab drab drab....cheap crap tables and chairs, bland walls, some leftover decor. The scramble was good, the kielbasa wasn't the best I have ever had. It was greasy and not super flavorful. It was super weird to have a small bowl of something red in the middle of the plate with no explanation - he almost pour strawberry jelly on his potatoes! Also no offer of other jams until the end of our breakfast. Our friend had the sweet potato pancakes. They were awful! They tasted like buckwheat and were grainy with a nasty after taste. Not super sweet potato flavor. They were so dense he wasn't able to eat much. His bacon was so overcooked it was nearly black and crumbled when he ate it. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs and biscuits. My eggs were perfect, the red potatoes were pretty darn good and the biscuit was decent - doesn't taste freshly from scratch made, but more of a mix, but I may be wrong. Now my corned beef that as another story. Hash has potatoes, I saw may be 5 pieces of potatoes. It also has onions, which are typically fully cooked - all the onions in my hash were almost raw and VERY OFFENSIVE - eat bite with onions over powered my corned beef. Our waitress, Leah, was not attentive and had a bit of an attitude when I checked on my drinks and some pancakes that came with one of our meals. She was snarky and her tone really didn't seem like she cared about what was being asked. She walked past our table several times and didn't even bother to ask if we wanted more water. We asked to speak to someone but we were basically given the run around about her lack of customer service. He said they work as a team, but it seemed communication was lacking between them. Between 3 of us we ordered from their Benedict selection. I'm a fan of veggie Benedict's so their avocado Benedict was calling my name. It was topped with tomato and avocado- it was awesome! The French toast was great aside from topped with margarine and a tiny side of high fructose corn syrup. The sausage served was two burnt to death patties, not links, which were inedible and the eggs were more like an overcooked omelet with a deep golden brown crust on one side swimming in grease. It is a shame as the French toast would have been awesome with butter and a Maple Syrup for the $16.00 spent. My wife, kiddo and I ordered breakfast/ brunch curb side to go. Online order was pretty easy. We drove up and food was delivered within a reasonable time. service member was nice and professional. Now... as far as the food goes... We live locally and have been a on a few occasions before all the world changes. I'll get down to the details. Burrito was not appetizing at all. Peppers were very hard, potatoes tasted "gamey". My daughters pancakes were so overcooked, we couldn't cut without a heavy duty knife. Lastly, eggs Benedict and hash browns were cold and tasteless.
